People are talking. This is one of the most awesome MAC collections to date. I wouldn’t say that the products are all that unique, some have been released before or are part of the permanent collection, but who doesn’t love them some Marilyn?
Marilyn Monroe, despite her turbulent life and death, is an icon. A gorgeous woman with the looks that screamed Hollywood and the body every woman still wants to this day.
The MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection sold out pretty much instantaneously in terms of the lipsticks as well as some other products. Five lipsticks were launched with this collection in special packaging – Pure Zen, Scarlet Ibis, Charmed I’m Sure, Deeply Adored and today’s post of Love Goddess.

Love Goddess (mid-tone pink red, satin) photographs more red in the tube (though, if you enlarge the photo you can see the slight gleam of fuchsia) but swatches and goes on the lip as a very saturated deep pink.
Typically, this wouldn’t be my choice of a lip shade, but something about the color works on my skin tone (neutral, MAC NW25). I’m thinking it must be the red in it, I do love me some reds.
The color glides on with great pigment and the satin finish is one of my faves from MAC because it provides excellent coverage while not coming off as dry. Given the nature of the color, though, I do recommend exfoliating before you apply.

MAC Marilyn Monroe Lipstick retails for $16.50 and is available at your local MAC counter (such as Nordstrom) or store. It’s very limited edition and likely sold out, but it doesn’t hurt to call and see if you can snag one!
I love the packaging of the lipsticks. I must say out of the entire collection, the lipsticks was all I was interested in. Thanks for the swatches.
I really want the other two lipsticks that I don’t have. I hesitated on ordering and ended up screwing myself =( I’m going to the mall on Thursday and checking the counters. Crossing my fingers but not counting my chickens haha
