OPI So So Skullicious Mini Lacquer Set Nail Polish Swatches & Review – Halloween 2012

September 25, 2012

Halloween is coming!!!  I’m so ridiculously in love with this holiday.  I don’t so much go all out with the dressing up, but I love to decorate my house and (of course) my nails!

OPI is making the spooky fun nail art super easy with the mini set So So Skullicious.  Four shades are included in the set – Hi, Pumpkin!, Mourning Glory (the usual Black and Orange you see during Halloween), A-Rose from the Dead, and Candlelight – as well as a set of nail decals for all 10 digits.

Hi, Pumpkin!

Hi, Pumpkin! is a yummy and juicy bright orange cream.  The formula is AMAZING and applied beautifully.  It wears on the nail a little darker than it looks in the bottle.  The above swatch is two coats.

A-Rose From the Dead

A-Rose From the Dead is a fuchsia jelly.  The formula is just as nice as Hi, Pumpkin! and coats very well.  As a girl who is sick to death of looking at fuchsia polishes, I’m loving this one!  The above swatch is two coats.

Mourning Glory

Mourning Glory is a glossy and saturated black cream.  It applied and coated very well.  The above swatch is two coats.

Candlelight

Candlelight is a very sheer school bus yellow jelly.  It wasn’t the greatest to paint on.  Really uneven.  The above swatch is four coats.

And what Halloween set would be complete without nail decals?!

This mini-set is too cute and so much fun.  I think the best way to go about using it, is to use the black as your base and create some sort of nail art that will match one or two of the stickers used on an accent nail.  That way you can maximize the use of the decals for more than one mani.

For more information, please see the Official Press Release.

Each nail lacquer shade in this set contains no DBP, Toluene, or Formaldehyde. So So Skullicious will be available for a limited time beginning September 2012, at Professional Salons, including Beauty Brands, Beauty First, Chatters, Dillard’s, JCPenney, Pure Beauty, Regis, Trade Secret, and ULTA, for $12.50 ($14.95 CAN) suggested retail for each mini pack.

So cute! I love the jelly ones and the black is so shiny and saturated. I must get all of these. Great idea about the stickers, too.
