I’m a huge (HUGE) fan of Murad Skincare. I’ve slowly been transitioning into using the complete line (as I use up my other products) and have noticed a great difference in my face. My skin has become a lot more clear, and even in tone. Dryness and redness are a thing of the past.
The line that I use, is the Acne line.
Since becoming pregnant with my first child back in 2006 I have been at war with my face. Never in my life have breakouts happened like this. Randomly I’d get a zit here or there, who doesn’t, but seriously… kids made my hormones RUN WILD and I ended up with painful and sometimes cystic acne around my jaw and chin area. That mess will always be embarrassing. It doesn’t matter if you’re in high school or if you’re in your 30’s, or older… acne can kill your confidence.
I’m here to tell you, the Murad line WORKS. It’s not harsh, won’t dry you out, and will clear you up fast. You won’t notice the results overnight, but the changes happen rapidly and keep breakouts at bay. I still get a random zit here or there, but because I use the Murad products any sort of breakout doesn’t get nearly as big and doesn’t last nearly as long. When I go off of the Murad products completely (the last time being in April when I went on vacation and thought it would be smart to take a bunch of travel size skin care) breakouts happen within days. It’s obviously doing it’s job.
Here are the products I’m currently using:
Step 1: Cleanse/Tone – For this, I am a long-time user of the Clarifying Cleanser ($26.00 for 6.75 fl. oz.). It is great for my sensitive skin and is the perfect texture to put on the Clarisonic for a really deep clean.
Another simple solution to do Step 1 on the road, or if you’re just feeling lazy or sick one evening, is to use the new Clarifying Wipes ($18.00 for 30 count). These wipes work great at getting off all of your makeup while still effectively fighting breakouts and cleaning skin.
Step 2: Treat/Repair – For this I actually have three different products that I’m using, all targeting a different type of breakout.
The Clarifying Body Spray ($37.00 for 4.3 fl.oz.) helps to clear current breakouts and prevent new ones. After cleansing, you apply to the affected area. I don’t often get any break outs on my body, but every once in awhile one will crop up on your back and it needs handled ASAP. My hubby and I both use this one!
The Overnight Soothing Gel ($30.00 for 1.7 fl. oz.) is to be used 2-3 times a week and will help with acne and redness. I don’t have a ton of that, but I try to be preventative by using this product once a week.
The third item I use is an Acne Spot Treatment (18.00 for 0.5 fl. oz.). This is just for those times when you get an evil little sucker that crops up and it needs an extra zap to go away quickly. I’ve also been using this for quite a while!
The only step I haven’t begun yet is Step 3: Hydrate/Protect. I’ll likely try the Skin Perfecting Lotion and add it into my routine (and of course, I’ll let you know how that works out).
Murad products are available at Sephora, Ulta, and murad.com. Currently the Clarifying Wipes are available at murad.com, but they will be made available at other retailers beginning in October.
