One of my HG shadow duos that I reach for every time I just need a neutral looking day (which is quite a bit) is the Hourglass Suede Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo. It’s neutral enough to throw on easily and you can play it up with any color of liner that you wish.
It’s because of that, I knew I’d be a fan of the Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Gypsy formula wise. Based off of in-store swatching at Sephora, I had thought this was a peachy and burgundy duo… I was kinda wrong.
What the Sephora website has to say about the Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo:
What it is:
Two silky eye shadows enclosed in a mini 360° swivel compact with a brush applicator. What it does:
Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo Visionaire pairs two complementary shades of super smooth color that create gorgeous looks singly or together. Each versatile hue may be applied dry for a natural look or wet for greater intensity. What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Sulfates
– Synthetic Dyes
– PhthalatesSize: 2 x 0.10 oz
Gypsy (peach ivory shimmer/ bronze shimmer) is really more of a peachy and marooned bronze shimmer. Are you with me? It’s not EXACTLY bronze… but it’s not EXACTLY maroon (or burgundy) either. I had the worst time pairing a liner with this because I didn’t want to go with a brown or a bronze and have it look off. I went safe with grey.
I love the formula of Hourglass Eye Shadows, and the Gypsy Duo is no exception. The shadows are heavily pigmented, long-lasting, blend easily and are buttery smooth.
The case has a swivel lid, which is fun, and it’s pretty to look at. What girl doesn’t like shiny things 😉 It’s also portable and sturdy. The brushes inside are okay. I use them when I’m popping on Suede on the go, but IDK if I’d do that with the darker shade here.
For this EOTD I began using Make Up For Ever Eye Prime. I took the peach ivory side and put it all over from lid to brow. Then I added the bronze side in and above the crease and outer V, blending up towards and brow and also on the lid towards the inner corner of the eye. The liner was NARS Koala Eyeliner Stylo and Chanel Gris Scintillant. The mascara is Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill.
Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duos retail for $38.00 and are available for purchase at Sephora.
I really want this duo! I love Hourglass 🙂

Very pretty eye of the day, I like the product but could too easily replicate the shades to buy it.
Your photographs are BEAUTIFUL as well!

thank you!! it’s definitely dupeable… I want to play around with it a bit and see if I can bring out the maroon tone more
I thought I wanted this but I’m not so sure now. Of course knowing me I own it and it’s sitting unused in a drawer. I thought it was more purple though. I think I’d use a charcoal or black liner with it.

definitely not purple… swatching in Sephora the colors looked totally different. I’m not disappointed, but it wasn’t what I expected. It’s REALLY pretty, though lol
