Right off… I love the names in this collection. They are SO fun and SO safari!! Which is perfect, since these polishes ARE a part of the China Glaze Fall 2012 Collection On Safari!
Out of the 12 shades released, I have four to shade with you – I’m Not Lion, Jungle Queen, Purr-fect Plum, and Man Hunt.
(L-R – Jungle Queen, Purr-fect Plum, Man Hunt, I’m Not Lion)
I’m Not Lion
(full sun, no flash. pinkie finger – one coat, ring finger – two coats, middle finger – three coats, pointer finger – four coats)
(in shade, no flash. pinkie finger – one coat, ring finger – two coats, middle finger – three coats, pointer finger – four coats)
(in shade, with flash. pinkie finger – one coat, ring finger – two coats, middle finger – three coats, pointer finger – four coats)
I’m Not Lion is a mix of silvers and golds of holo glitter love. This polish dries matte so you definitely need a top coat to really make it glimmer. It will suck the top coat up, so the polish will dry feeling gritty, but dang is it gorgeous.
Jungle Queen
Jungle Queen is a dusky greyed purple with subtle purple toned micro-shimmers. I thought this one was really pretty on, especially with I’m Not Lion as an accent nail. The formula was okay… two coats would be fine for normal wear, but I used three above to be sure it didn’t look patchy on camera.
Polish Insomniac did swatch comparisons to Chanel Paradoxal. Not a total dupe, but it might give you a cheaper alternative!!
Purr-fect Plum
Purr-fect Plum is a deep berry cream… this shade just makes me think of classy people for some reason lol It’s a great one for Fall! This was great by way of application and I only needed two coats for the photo above. I’m Not Lion was used on the ring finger as an accent.
Man Hunt
Man Hunt is a deep royal blue cream. It’s freaking gorgeous on it’s own but I love how I’m Not Lion looks over top of it! I only needed two coats for the swatch photo.
I must say, all of these are must haves. You MAY have something similar to Purr-fect Plum or Man Hunt, but if not the formula is nice and you should definitely pick them up. I’m Not Lion is at the top of my list because it accents so nicely over everything and still looks good when used alone.
A few more polishes from this collection on my wish list – such as Call of the Wild, I Herd That, Exotic Encounters, and Prey Tell. What are you planning to pick up?
