I love that this collection was full of brights… so often when you think of Essie polishes, you think of beautiful sheers, creams and neutrals.
Shades for Summer 2012 include Bikini So Teeny (provocative lustrous sky blue), Cascade Cool (frosty, shimmery carnation pink), All Tied Up (naughty molten bronze), Off the Shoulder (daring, scorching hot pink), Fear or Desire (obsession-worthy bright orange), and Mojito Madness (fun-loving party lime).
Fear or Desire is a loud and alarming shade of neon orange. I painted the first coat a little too thin, so the swatch below is of 3 coats, but you could likely get it opaque in two.
I’m very pleased with the staying power of the formula, as well as the application. I painted this on rather quickly, and after I took the pics had to start making dinner and handle kids… you know the mani still looks great! No chips, though it did dull down a bit even with a Dior top coat. That can be fixed with another layer of top coat.
(outdoors, no flash, in full sun)
Essie Nail Polishes retail for around $8.00 (give or take, depending on where you shop) and are available at Ulta, drugstores, SkinCareRX, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.

Love this shade! I need it!
Cannot wait to see this collection live around here, I’m not a fan of oranges but I’m really curious to see the other colours!!
It looks great, though.
That’s a beautiful orange, just in time for summer.
I’m usually not a big fan of oranges but this colour looks so amazing on your nails! I think I’ll have to check it out.
