Some day I dream of meeting Ken Downing in person. The Neiman Marcus Fashion Director is a force to be reckoned with not only in the Fashion Industry, but with his lip and nail colors. Obviously, since the collabs with Le Metier de Beaute keep on coming!
One of the most recent to hit the counters is the Lip Creme team of glosses Ginger Snap and Copper Leaf. You might look at the shades sitting side by side and go … wtf?! But, seriously… they need each other like my daughter thinks Kielbasa needs ranch dressing (which, in her world, it absolutely does).
What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about
Ken Downing’s Indian Summer hues evoke the warm, dreamy feel of the end of the season. Ginger Snap Lip Creme holds the perfect amount of shimmer to make lips glisten in the sun, and when layered with the deeper bronze tones of Copper Leaf Lip Creme, the effect is pure Summer. Two-piece set.

Ginger Snap
Doesn’t really look ginger, does it? It’s actually a rather sheer pinky peach gloss with golden shimmer. I was thinking it was a Sheer Brilliance and not a Lip Creme. It makes a fabulous base for Copper Leaf, as well as any other bold gloss you feel the need to tone down.
Copper Leaf
This has a copper base with a bronze metallic shimmer. It comes off VERY brassy on it’s own. The pigment is intense and the gloss is thick, as you’d expect a Lip Creme to be. I personally can’t pull this off on it’s own, but when layered on top of Ginger Snap (shown below) it’s a peachier hue, relaxing the copper just enough to make it wearable on my tone.

As always, neither gloss has any stick and they apply and wear like a dream. The Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme and Sheer Brilliance formulas are hands down the best there is out there. Once you try one of them, you’ll crave more! So, enter into this relationship at your own risk!
Le Métier de Beauté Ginger Snap/Copper Leaf Lip Cremes Lip Gloss Set is exclusive to Neiman Marcus and retails for $65.00.
