Are you searching for a laid back, dewy Summer eye that will be around for the long haul? Your search has ended! Dior has released a new 1-Couleur Eye Gloss that is sure to be the spring board to what will hopefully be a large and permanent line (hint hint, Dior!).
Two shades are available for a limited time in Sunset and Tan. The Dior 1-Couleur Eye Gloss is actually part of the Croisette Summer 2012 collection, but is exclusive to Sephora, so if you were just hitting up your local counter you may have missed it!
What the Sephora website has to say about Dior 1-Couleur Eye Gloss:
What it is:
The first eye gloss by Dior in fresh, sparkling shades. What it does:
This gel eye shadow formula glides on effortlessly for a gorgeous, long-lasting, hydrated look.
560 Tan (bronze shimmer) & 750 Sunset (peachy pink shimmer) are gorgeous colors in the tubes, and even in the swatch that isn’t sheered out they look pigmented. However, when these are applied, they have very little tint to them. This product is best used as a base for shadows, as they do last all day and don’t feel sticky. I tried these on their own as well as with shadows on top and didn’t have any problems with creasing. (TIP: after you apply, keep your eye shut for a few seconds and let the cream set to powder).
When I sheered Sunset out on my eye glitter got EVERYWHERE. It wasn’t so much with the Tan shade, but I absolutely recommend doing your eye makeup before your face makeup when using this product.
The pair look very simple when used alone on the eye. A bit too glittery, though. I adore the dewy effect it gives off. If I could only purchase one it would be the Tan shade, as it has more color and less glitter.
These would layer up well with the 5-Couleurs from this collection, Aurora and Swimming Pool. For this EOTD, though, I wanted to keep it simple so you could see how the eye gloss is on it’s own. I applied Sunset from lid to brow and Tan on the lid and just above the crease. The liner is Chanel Brun Le Crayon Yeux and the mascara is Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill.
Initially I couldn’t find either of these locally, but it ended up getting restocked. It’s also still available online, but is limited edition.
Dior 1-Couleur Eye Gloss retail for $28.00 each and are available at Sephora.

they’re a nice base, but if you’re looking for something more pigmented we’ll have to wait (if) til they release more 😉
