Tinted Brow Gel in Caramel

I’ve always been terrified of tinted brow gel.  My fears were cemented when an Ulta employee once told me that only people with extremely full brows should use this product.  With the arrival of this set I learned that this was just not true.

I do not have full, lush brows.  I experienced quite a loss of them after my second pregnancy.  I’m happy to have back what I do.  Tinted Brow Gel is PERFECT to use alone so your brows can stand out a bit more without all of the work.  BUT it’s also awesome to use after you fill in your brows a bit.  The metallic look of the Caramel in particular actually makes my brows look more refined, and the powder blend better.  While I do love a clear brow gel, tinted now gets my vote and lives in my HG land.

Illumin8 Eyeshadow Duo in On Set

The two shades in On Set are made for each other.  I like to use the left side all over and lid and up through the crease and the right side in the crease.  Then I pick up a metallic liquid liner and finish off the look.  Both shadows are soft and easy to blend.

I used Urban Decay Primer Potion underneath this duo and it didn’t fade or crease all day.

Hydrafull Gloss in Heiress and Plastic

Both Heiress and Plastic are gorgeous shades of pink, slightly different from each other (Plastic has more of a blue undertone to it).  My personal preference with the coordinating eye duo would be a nude or peachy lip color, but I have the oddest OCD’s about things like that.  These shades are currently only available in this kit.

The formula is on the sticky side… a bit more so than a MAC Lipglass (but not as thick), but no where near as bad as a Butter London Lippy.

Rather than a sponge or brush, the applicator is a plastic spatula.  This can be a positive or negative thing, depending on your preference.  On the plus side, it’s a lot easier to be sanitary with this type of applicator.  So, if you’re a makeup artist… or just like to be super clean… huge plus!  However, it doesn’t apply perfectly, and I found I need to swipe it on my finger to apply the best way, leaving me with the messy hands.  Personally, I prefer a sponge doe foot applicator.

In the end, the set is totally worth it.  While I may not pair the lip glosses with the eye duo, I like them all enough to wear them with other items in my stash.
