Generally, I don’t put two different types of products together for a review, but these two powders are seriously the perfect pair. They belong together like Beiber and Usher.
As part of the Summer 2012 Hey, Sailor! line, MAC released some new blushes and Pro Longwear Bronzing Powders. For this post, I’m going to be showing off Launch Away! Powder Blush and Nude On Board Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder.
Launch Away! Powder Blush is described as a true peach with a satin finish. I totally disagree on the color. In the pot, it looks peach. When swatched and worn, it’s definitely more of a pink than a peach, but I guess I could say it has a miniscule hint of peach in it (for all of you technical people out there).
I love satin finishes by MAC, next to matte they are my fave. They always apply easily and wear nicely. To wear this shade, I like to place most of the color on the apples of my cheeks and blend up. This is a very light shade, so if you’re looking for pigment you’re either going to have to layer like no other or find a different blush. (For the super duper pale you’re going to love this one).
Because Launch Away! is so light, I paired it up with Nude On Board Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder. Nude On Board is described as a bronzy, yellow tone. Totally accurate. This is also pretty light on first pass so it’s excellent to contour the hollows of your cheeks with (suck it in, baby!) and then pop Launch Away! on the apples for a natural cheek hue.
Pro Longwear products are so amazing. I loveeeee how they just adhere and last. This bronzer isn’t water resistant, however it’s not just going to rub off with your hand very easily either.
Don’t worry, mah dears, a FOTD is coming up using all of the Hey, Sailor! products when I do the eye shadow post. You’ll get to see cheek splendor at its finest.
For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.
MAC Powder Blush retails for $21.00 and the MAC Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder retails for $28.00. Launch Away! and Nude On Board are available for a limited time at your local MAC counter or store as well as at maccosmetics.com.
