PREVENTION ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF 2012 “CELEBRATE YOUR BEAUTY” AWARDS IN “BEST BODY” CATEGORY —6 Products (All $45 or less) Stand Up to Scientific Testing— Prevention magazine has named six winners in the “Best Body” category of the brand’s prestigious “Celebrate Your Beauty” Awards this year, the first in a four-part series. Award winners will be announced in the July, August, September, and October issues, awarding products in the categories of “Best Body,” “Best Complexion,” “Best Makeup,” and “Best Hair,” respectively. The awards kicked off in the July issue, with six body-beautifying products earning the “Celebrate Your Beauty” seal, including: SheaMoisture Olive & Green Tea Body Wash, Schick Hydro Silk Razor, Dr. Dennis Gross Beta Glow Pad for Body with Active Vitamin D, L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Hydra Lotion Spray, Aveeno Positively Ageless Skin Strengthening Cream, and Philosophy Hands of Hope Hand and Cuticle Cream. To determine the winners, a panel of judges reviewed more than 1,700 beauty products launched from April 2011 to June 20123 and chose 130 finalists. Each finalist was tested with criteria appropriate to its category. Body lotions, face creams, and foundations were used by readers for six weeks under the supervision of a dermatologist, who determined winners using tools such as the Visia Complexion Analyzer by Canfield. Products like shampoos and self-tanners were tested by an independent lab and/or readers. “Readers rely on Prevention to sort through the new beauty choices that flood the marketplace every year, and to report authoritatively on which ones really deliver and should be on their list of must-haves,” said Prevention Editor-in-Chief, Diane Salvatore. “Prevention’s ‘Celebrate Your Beauty’Awards are specifically designed to help women choose and enjoy beauty products that are effective and compatible with a healthy lifestyle.” Below is the complete list of Prevention’s “Celebrate Your Beauty” Award winners for 2012.
