NARS has some awesome products, as I’m sure we can all attest to. One I haven’t tried before is a product from their line of Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils. There is really no reason, but I just hadn’t thought I needed one before the Summer 2012 release of Buenos Aires, aka the perfect nude.
What the NARS website has to say about Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils:
Gorgeously glossy color in a jumbo lip pencil. Spectacular shine in an innovative, lightweight formula and enriched with Vitamin E plus a blend of moisture-rich hyaluronic spheres that make lips appear fuller.
- Ultra smooth, buttery feel on the lips
- Contains vitamin E, hyaluronic spheres and phytosterol esthers; ingredients known to moisturize, increase hydration and improve barrier function
- Convenient, easy application
Buenos Aires is described as a nude beige pink and also has a bit of dimension to it, adding highlight to the color. The formula glides on smoothly and is not drying.
I like using the Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil in a pinky-peach nude shade like Buenos Aires because you can line just a smidge outside of your natural lip line without looking clownish. It gives off the appearance of a fuller and more lush lip.
This shade is also great for toning down an otherwise bright or vampy color.
NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencils retail for $24 each. Buenos Aires is released with the Summer 2012 Collection, now available on narscosmetics.com, Sephora and at NARS counters.

I actually don’t have any NARS cosmetics in my collection (yet). This pencil might have to be my first! So pretty!
