Recently Sephora went and got itself a nail bar. Thank the Heavens, because we NEEDED a nice variety of nail polish brands around here. Some NEW blood! My local Sephora doesn’t carry Illamasqua products, but they have the range of Nail Varnishes placed front and center at the nail bar. I had a good old time swatching and playing, before finally settling on Scarab (I know, not on trend with the season, but I’ve had my eye on it since it’s launch and once you see it in person it is absolutely impossible to pass it up!).

Scarab is a gorgeous deep metallic Merlot red with shimmer. I used two coats for the swatch photos, though one was thick and it looked okay, there were still areas that needed some attention. Very pretty for the colder months!
Illamasqua polishes coat and wear well, and have the most interesting colors. For a brand that I consider to have a mid-to-high price point, their polishes are affordable at $14.00 each. Purchase them at Sephora as well as at Illamasqua.com
