May is Melanoma & Skin Cancer Prevention Month

A new study published in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings reports that the incidence of melanoma has increased eightfold among young women and fourfold among young men ages 18 to 39 over the past four decades. The wakeup call points to a melanoma epidemic in the U.S. – with young women among those most affected. The Facts: Every hour, someone dies from melanoma in the U.S., the most deadly form of skin cancer.
