This post is proof that I have no will power when it comes to makeup.
When Tom Ford released his line of makeup, I was SO proud of myself for not buying anything. Of course, it all looked beautiful, but the problem here is the cost of the product versus the fact that I knew I’d love it. Add another designer brand to my list of weaknesses. *sigh*
Because I don’t have a Tom Ford counter anywhere near me, I chose a lipstick based off of looking at swatches and choosing a shade that I knew was well within my comfort zone. Sable Smoke 14 is the perfect neutral lippie for exactly ANY occasion.
What the Neiman Marcus website has to say about Tom Ford Beauty Lip Color:
To Tom Ford, there is no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip. It is the focus of the face and it has the power to define a woman’s whole look. Each Lip Color is Tom Ford’s modern ideal of an essential makeup shade. Rare and exotic ingredients including soja seed extract, Brazilian murumuru butter and chamomile flower oil create an ultra-creamy texture with an incredibly smooth application. Specially treated color pigments are blended to deliver pure color with just the right balance of luminosity.
3g
Sable Smoke is a very thick and very pigmented peachy nude cream. There is zero stick, no caking and it’s completely moisturizing. It’s not matte, but it’s not so shiny that if you’re over a certain age you couldn’t pull it off. The staying power isn’t extreme, but it on par with the average lipstick.
While I can’t justify it based on the amount of product (A $48 Tom Ford lipstick is 3g, or .1 oz. Chanel, Dior, Guerlain, and Le Metier de Beaute all retail around the mid-$30-$40 range depending on the formula and brand. The first three are .12oz where LMdB is .13oz.), it is the best formula I’ve ever tried. Hands down.
And such is my attempt to justify the most expensive lipstick I own. I do think because it’s such a glorious feeling lippie that you should own at least one to check it out (splurge on your bday or Christmas! Did you get a raise? Celebrate with a lippie! I’m trying here, people lol). It’s one you’ll gravitate towards wearing frequently because of the luxe feel it gives.
Tom Ford Lipstick retails for $48.00 and can be purchased at Neiman Marcus.

I want to pick up a blush color and maybe a quad. Karla Sugar had her makeup done using the Topaz quad and it looked so amazing!
