In 2011 MAC released a set of six Mineralize Eye Shadow Duos – Pretty & Prim, This & That, Mix & Switch, Heaven & Earth, Thunder & Rain, and today’s post of Sage & Wisdom.
I’m generally not a fan of Mineralize Eye Shadows in general, but I can never pass up a beautiful green shadow, or duo of greens, as the case may be!
What the MAC website has to say about Mineralize Eye Shadow Duos:
Two coordinating shades baked together in a single pan. A superb way to experience Mineralize’s unique properties: exceptionally sheer and lightweight application, and easy, rich colour. Finishes include super-fine pearl that leave a soft dimensional shimmer on the skin.
2.5 g / 0.08 US oz
Sage & Wisdom (frost light green/satin deep green) look like opposite shades of green on the swatch, but on the eye they’re not so easy to tell apart. The light green is a smidge lighter than the deep green, but to me, it just looks like I applied one shade to my eye.
With Mineralize Eye Shadows, the shades become much more pigmented when used wet. Sage & Wisdom is a beautiful shade of green, but I would have liked to have seen more of a difference in the two shades when applied dry.
For this EOTD I took the MAC 234 brush and applied the deep green side all over the lid and into the crease with the firm side. I used the light green shade to blend above the crease using the same brush, but the fluffy side. MAC Grain Eye Shadow was used to highlight, with Eyeko Graffiti Eyeliner Pen as a top liner and Chanel Khaki Dore Le Crayon Yeux as a bottom liner. The mascara is Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash in Black Opal.
MAC Mineralize Eye Shadow Duos retail for $20.00 each and are available at maccosmetics.com as well as at your local MAC counter or store. Sage & Wisdom is marked as Limited Edition on the website.
