Oh, what? You thought Crackle polishes were going to fade away? Think again! Brands are always looking for new ways to mix up a popular trend and hopefully revive it.
This May, China Glaze is releasing four new shades of Crackle… GLITTER Crackle.
Glam-more, Gleam Me Up, Jade-d, and Luminous Lavender join the ranks as the first four Crackle Glitters released by China Glaze.
For all of the photos below the first was taken in the sun, the second in the shade – no flash was used on any of them. I did this because when I used the flash it ate the color and you couldn’t see the Crackle aspect, which is the whole point of these polishes.
Glam-more
Glam-more is a purple and fuchsia mix. This polish crackled well and is my favorite of the four! Shown over top of China Glaze Life Preserver.
Gleam Me Up
Gleam Me Up is a silver and aqua mix. This crackled fairly well, but not as densely as Glam-more. Shown over China Glaze For Audrey (which I’m not even going to link up because my original swatch post of that shade is embarrassingly bad lol).
Jade-d
Jade-d is a golden olive mix, which also crackled fairly well. I love this color as a crackle and it’s another must have. Shown over China Glaze Life Preserver.
Luminous Lavender
Luminous Lavender is a mix of purple and silver. This one had the sheerest crackle glitter. Still pretty, but not as stunning as the others. Shown over China Glaze Make Some Noise.
The trick to the Crackle Glitters is to paint the polish on very, very thickly. If it’s not thick, the glitter is going to be sparse and it’s just going to come off looking like a glitter top coat.
These polishes need a clear top coat after application, because they dry quickly and matte. Once the top coat is applied they sparkle and look amazing!
Overall, I like this set of four. Luminous Lavender is a little too thin, but that is the only one I’m not a fan of.
The China Glaze® Crackle Glitters collection will be available as open stock colors and four-piece counter display. Individual polishes retail for $9 MSRP and will be available at fine salons and beauty supply stores nationwide in May 2012.

Love them. I haven’t tried crackle polish yet but love the sparkle of these so much that I’m adding them to my wish list.
