This past week I noticed a blog post on the new Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. They were unlike anything I’d seen, so when out and about I picked up two of them to check out in Rose Petal and Candy Coral.
What the Ulta website has to say about Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush:
DescriptionMaybelline’s Dream Bouncy Blush’s unique bouncy texture gives you the freshest flush ever! The revolutionary powder-gel formula is lightweight like a powder, yet it melts seamlessly into skin like a cream, for a sheer wash of bouncy-fresh color that lasts!
Directions
For the most natural look, use fingertips to apply one layer of blush to apples of cheeks in a circular motion. For more intense color, continue to apply additional layers.
Rose Petal 15 is a light pearly pink, probably best to use as a highlight unless you’re extremely pale. I’m NW25 in MAC and really had to load this one on. The swatch above was done heavily and it was hard to pull enough color.
Candy Coral 30 is a deep coral in the pan, but swatches a lot lighter. If you’re lighter and looking for a subtle warm shade, this is a good one for you. The swatch was also done heavily for this one.
This blush is bizarre to touch. I knew it was going to be different, but no amount of words can prepare you for what this blush feels like. It’s a solid… but a cream… and it moves, but you’re not expecting it to, even though you know it will.
Here is a shot of the dip left in the blush after I swatched:
I used a regular blush brush for this and it didn’t leave the dip my finger left… but a stippling brush or fingers might work better. These shades are gorgeous, but the formula takes some getting used to!
Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush retails for $7.99 (give or take coupons and sales) and is available at your local drugstore as well as at Ulta (where they are currently buy one get one half off).

Pretty colors however I have never been able to wear creme based blush. It blotches within an hour.
