Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Color is a new line. These polishes are toted on the website as a “full-coverage glitter formula” which I don’t agree with, BUT I do love the shades.
Gem Crush is available in eight shades including Showgirl Chic, Cha-Ching!, Bling-tastic, Be-Jeweled, Razzle Dazzler, Lady Luck, Glitz Gal, and today’s post of Big Money.
Big Money is a mix of small gold glitters with larger lavender hex glitter on a clear base. This isn’t a thick glitter, so I believe it will look at it’s best with a colorful base (such as a gold, purple, or pink.. even silver would look neat). In the swatch photo I have one coat on the pinkie, two on the ring finger, three on the middle finger and a whopping FOUR on the pointer finger. The close up shot is of three coats.
This is a thirsty little sucker, and drank up the top coat like no ones business. It’s a bit gritty, but still works. I wish this one had a golden base, rather than a clear one, but we can’t win em all, and the combo of the glitters is stellar.
Several of the Gem Crush shades remind me of the China Glaze Eye Candy Collection. Which is why I chose Big Money, because it wasn’t like any of the ones from Eye Candy, which I already have. What is nice, though, is that if you missed out on some of the faves from CG Eye Candy, you may be able to pick them up in the Gem Crush Collection.
The Sally Hansen Gem Crush Nail Polishes retail for $6.99 each and can be found at your local drugstore or Ulta.
