If you’ve been a reader since at least this past December, you’ll know that I was in love with the Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 in The Playlist. The Playlist leans rather warm, so I wanted to get my hands on the cooler of the two palettes, The Cocktail Hour. These palettes were released for Holiday 2011, but are still available online.
What the Sephora website has to say about has to say about bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 – The Cocktail Hour:

(Black Tie Optional, Icebreaker, Elixir, Invite Only)
(Swanky, Spiked, Libation, Shaken Not Stirred)
The Cocktail Hour offers a bold and shimmering assortment of 8 shadows that lean cool (except Spiked). Each has a nice pigment and is very easy to apply and blend. I experienced minimal fall out with this palette and all of the shades are swatched above using one finger swipe and no primer.
The packaging is really pretty, the gold reminds me of the Dolce & Gabbana packaging. I dislike that it gets messy and fingerprinted VERY easily.
The palette includes an insert with 3 ways to use the palette.
However, I used my own ideas for the two looks below. Now you have 5 ways to use this palette 😉
For both of the eye looks below I used a base of UDPP and Tarina Tarantino Fleur de Lash Mascara in Black Opal.
For this first eye look I went for understated smoky. Starting off I put Invite Only on the lid then applied Swanky to the crease. I applied Libation above the crease to blend out Swanky and used Icebreaker on the inner corners of the eye and to highlight. For a liner I used Chanel Violet Smoke Le Crayon Yeux.
For the second eye look I went glam smoky! Starting off I applied Shaken Not Stirred all over the lid. I blended Spiked into and above the crease and used Libation for the inner corners of the eye and to highlight. Chanel Marine Le Crayon Kohl was used to line the top and bottom and I put a bit of Libation on top of the lower liner.
Bare Escentuals bareMinerals READY Eyeshadow 8.0 retails for $40 and is available at Sephora and Ulta. The Cocktail Hour is Limited Edition.
This is one of my favorite palette. Beautiful shades, great quality and sleek packaging. Nothing gets better.
Love your eye makeup.
