As a little mini-collection for Spring 2012, Dior released 4 new 5-Couleurs and a new mascara. I’ve already reviewed the stunning Smoky Kaki, as well as the knockout Grege, and am pleased to share with you another palette from this collection. Dior #834 Rose Porcelaine is just as gorgeous as the rest, but in a different way. It’s more frosty, but still wearable when used in the right way.
What the Nordstrom website has to say about Dior 5-Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow NEW LOOK Palettes:
The newest addition to the 5 Couleurs family. These shades—inspired by Mr. Dior’s iconic 1947 collection—are enhanced with five satiny, iridescent and matte shades. The only way to get your Dior New Look. Available in Bleu de Paris, Royal Khaki, Grege and Rose Porcelaine.
Rose Porcelaine is the frostiest palette of the three that I’ve tried out. It’s a lovely mixture of ivory, pinks, and eggplant. I personally don’t like my entire eye look to look majorly frosty, but the eggplant shade is really great for toning down the entire look. All of the shades are buttery and apply well. Of course you’ll get the most pigment from the top left pink shade and the eggplant shade because they are the darkest. The three lighter shades had some slight fall out.
The New Look Eyeshadow Palettes also have an insert included to help you with your eye looks with tips and diagrams:
For my own eye look, as usual, I wanted to incorporate all five shades. Starting off I used UDPP as a base and applied the top left pink shade all over the lid and up through the crease. I then applied the bottom right eggplant shade in the crease and outer V and blended all the way up to the brow. Next I used the top right shimmery white shade in the inner corners of the eye. The middle shade was used to highlight.
Next I lined the top and bottom lids with MAC Added Goodness Fluidline. Using an angled eye liner brush I placed the bottom right pink shade to the outer lower lash line. I finished the look by adding on Dior DiorShow New Look Mascara. The way I used the shades and blended made the look much more purple than pink, but that is what I was going for!
Dior New Look 5-Couleurs Eyeshadow Palettes retail for $59.00 and are available at your local Dior counter (try Nordstrom) as well as online and at Dior.com. For more information on this collection, please see the official press release.

I think I like the other two palettes better, but you managed to do a stunning (and not too frosty) look with this one!

You did a beautiful job with this palette. It looked so “pink” but your look is great without it being too pastel.

Very pretty, although a bit too shimmery for my taste.

How many would you say you roughly have altogether? I’m trying to start a dior palette collection myself, I’ve only got about 9 at the moment :”)
Brooke says
Hi! I have probably most of the LE palettes… just a few of the perm. Things tend to appeal to me more if they are LE lol Try swapping for them over trying to buy, since usually people want an arm and a leg for an LE palette!

OOPS!! my apologies to Shamini!! That comment was directed at Brooke :”) So sorry, (I’m not used to the commenting format ^^)
