Over Christmas, one of my girls in Australia wanted to send me a card…. she surprised me with not just a card, but a package of her favorite drugstore goodies from down under!
Two of her favorite lip shades are from the brand Australis. When you see Ballet and Jitterbug Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick, it’s easy to see why!
What the Australis website has to say about Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick:
What is it Long lasting, moisturising and nourishing lip colour. It’s an injection of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It contains Kakadu plum which is the world’s highest known source of vitamin C. Vitamin C is not only soothing, but also naturally stimulates collagen formation. Moisturising, smoothing and lip defining peptides are added to help make this the hottest thing on everyone’s lips!
Why we love it Knockout colour with benefits. It’s like a treatment, your lips will be healthier wearing colour inject lipstick than not wearing it.
Jitterbug
Jitterbug is a bright, warm maraschino cherry red. The color is gorgeous and juicy. A great summer red. Unfortunately this beautiful shade was smushed a bit in transit, BUT can still be applied with a lip brush.
Ballet
Ballet is a lovely baby pink. Exactly as girly and light as you’d picture the Ballet to be!
Overall, these shades are nicely pigmented and moisturizing! Very impressive for a drugstore brand! Both shades remind me of a hybrid of a lip gloss and a lustre lipstick, so the wear on them is only a few hours.
Initially when I swatched the shades they reminded me of the MAC shades Scarlet Ibis and Angel. As you can see, Jitterbug is kind of like the non-matte lustre version of Scarlet Ibis (or like you put a gloss on top) and Angel is more of a blue toned pink than Ballet.
(L-R: Scarlet Ibis, Jitterbug, Ballet, Angel)
Australis Colour Inject Mineral Lipstick retails for $12.95 in AUS (roughly $13.75 USD) and you can find this product at drugstores in Australia.
