I go back and forth with my love for Deborah Lippmann Nail Polishes. I either REALLY love them or I REALLY hate them. Lately it’s been more of a love thing. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m getting to know the brand more, and I know what I’ll like in terms of what I feel they can and cannot do well… or if it’s because everything they’ve been putting out lately is just amazing.
For Spring 2012 one of the polishes released by Deborah Lippmann is called Mermaid’s Dream. Rarely do I purchase a polish online before I see swatches, but the bottle photo on this looked to die for, so I pre-ordered on Neiman Marcus and waited.
When I opened the package, I nearly hit the floor… make sure you’re sitting down. I give you – Mermaid’s Dream.
Mermaid’s Dream is a foily looking shimmering sea green. The base is a frosty golden green. There are larger blue glitter and smaller sea foam and gold glitter, reminding me of the Caribbean. It’s calming and party-licious all at the same time! I used three coats for basically full opacity.
Mermaid’s Dream retails for $18.00 and can be purchased at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom.
I LOVE the texture on this one…I guess it’s bumpy, but that makes it look like the bottom of the ocean coated with blue and green seashell bits.
This is gorgeous! Normally I really don’t even get myself excited for a Deborah Lippmann because I have told myself they are out of my price range since I have so many polishes… but WOW! Is it too much to hope that this one may be duped so I won’t feel so bad???
hopefully wet n wild will dupe it! the birthday one seemed to get a lot of dupes across the board from brands
Did you use a topcoat?
I did. Sucked it right up. It’s a thirsty, gritty polish, but beautiful!
Don’t laugh, but this remind me of the “Enchantment Under the Sea” dance from Back to the Future. In a good way. This is so beautifully textured, I may have to investigate further.
Haha, I couldn’t help but think of that, too…and I love that movie…
This one IS to-die-for! I bet it’ll be great for summer!
