Generally, for brows, I rely on Dior DiorShow Brow Styler which comes in a Universal Shade. I love this product, but it’s expensive for how fast I go through it ($29 at Nordstrom and I need a new one about every 3 weeks).
I went to Ulta the other day with the intent to find something just as good, but easier on my wallet. It was a Sunday, so a Benefit rep happened to be there and she recommended the Benefit Brow Zings and matched me with the Medium.
What the Sephora website has to say about Brow Zings:
What it is:
An eyebrow shaping kit. What it does:
Benefit Brow Zings comes with all the tools you need for clean, smooth, perfectly-defined brows. What else you need to know:
The kit includes a soft, pigmented wax that defines and shapes brows and a color complementing setting powder to keep them looking wow, plus discreet tweezers for pesky stray hairs, a hard angle brush, and a blending brush.Size: 0.15 oz
Brow Zings comes with a colored wax (left) and a setting powder (right) as well as three tools (angled brush, blending brush, and tweezers) to have your brows looking perfect. For me, this product wasn’t ideal. (side note – I didn’t do swatches because it’s just a wax/powder and the wax is colored, but sheer and looked a little weird. This isn’t a product that would be beneficial to see swatched on an arm.)
Background: I have very sparse brows. I didn’t used to have brows like this. If you can believe it, having kids made my brows go thin and half of one even disappeared! They tested my thyroid over and over and did a series of other tests, but nothing was wrong. Luckily, applying Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Lash Growth Serum brought the missing eye brow back enough so that I had something to work with.
The Benefit rep told me this product was nice because it had a colored wax and it was waterproof. Plus, it will last a long time (she said she’s had hers for TWO YEARS). I really dislike the colored wax, but I liked how the product held and looked. I ended up going back to Ulta to find a product with a clear wax and a setting powder (to be reviewed later this week) and am very pleased with that.
I think that this product would be better for someone who does not have sparse eye brows. It is an excellent product, overall, just not for me.
Benefit Brow Zings retails for $30.00 and is available at Sephora and Ulta.
Lovely products i really give them a try and superb review as always.
I have this one in dark… I don’t use it that often since I have too many brows, just for going out at night… I use much more the powder part of it, didn’t like the wax much. I have had mine for over a year now, and I still have much… so when the SA said it lasts for years, she was right.
I am interesting in trying this product. I like that is comes with a mini tweezers and instructions. Neat idea.

I was considering this… Then I found the elf studio brow kit which is essentially the same for 3.00.
Unfortunately, I have not heard good things about the Brow Zings. I love Anastasia’s Brow Duo powder, and I’ve heard great things about the rest of her products too. I don’t usually use a wax, but when I do, I use the NYX clear wax pencil.
It sounds like you found a product you like – but I definitely HIGHLY recommend the Anastasia brow duos. Comes in a lot of shades, and lasts forever too!
It actually is an Anastasia set 😉 hehe
I’m not the biggest fan of this product either. The SA insisted that I get it in Dark, which of course turned out to be way too unnaturally dark for me (I am East Asian, but my hair color is visibly lighter than average). It does stay on well, but I think the wax makes my eyebrows look a bit too drawn in. I switched to filling them with Bobbi Brown Sable and that’s a lot better.
yeah I thought the colored wax made it more uneven. Clear wax is MUCH better for me lol
