- Ophthalmologist-tested
I love to use this product to take off my makeup before I use my Clarisonic. After I had kids my skin decided to act all teenager and break out, so I needed to get a handle on my skin care routine for the first time. The Clarisonic has been amazing, but when I use the NARS Makeup Removing Water before the Clarisonic, I REALLY notice a glow to my skin and a new cleanliness. If you do both of these you’ll be sure to remove every spot of makeup and dirt. My routine as of late has been to use MAC Gently Off Eye Makeup Remover, NARS Makeup Removing Water, a Murad Cleanser with the Clarisonic, then whatever Skin Care I happen to be testing.
A word of caution. I tried this to remove eye makeup, which it did… but it also made the whites of my eyes turn completely pink and burn. I am a contact lens wearer, so that may be why (since I’ve seen several reviews where they were able to use this for eye makeup remover), but I had to immediately take out my contacts and wear my glasses. Once I did that the pink went away after about an hour or two.
Regardless of how this reacts on the eye, it’s very gentle and effective on the skin.
NARS Makeup Removing Water retails for $28.00 and is available at NARScosmetics.com. Please see the Official Press Release for more information.

I use Shu cleansing oil to remove my makeup, but use a separate eye makeup remover (Biotherm Lash protect remover). This makeup removing water sounds great tho!

Ahhh too bad your eyes reacted to it! Did it work on waterproof mascara?
Brooke says
My mascara is generally not water proof, but I think I read on someones blog that it did work on their waterproof. I use it to remove swatches from my arm as well, and a lot of times I have to scrub with a MAC wipe to remove the more staining products. With the NARS it just takes a swipe!

Thanks Brooke! I only use non-waterproof mascaras because they hold curls (and believe me, with my typical East Asian lashes or rather the lack of lashes, I could do with all the help I can get in the mascara department lol). If this removes non-waterproof mascara I’ll consider getting this when I run out of my current makeup remover (Clinique Take the Day off) 🙂
