MAC Iced Delights Lip Bag in WINTERCOOL Swatches and Review – Ice Parade Holiday 2011

This year, MAC Holiday gives us a nice array of products and sets to choose from.  I wasn’t real floored by the items from Glitter and Ice, but the sets had me drooling head over heels!

One of the first sets I have to share with you is the Iced Delights Lip Bag in Wintercool.  This set comes with Creme D’Nude Lipstick (which is a permanent Cremesheen Lipstick), Fashion Whim Cremesheen Glass, and a mini Stripdown Lip Pencil  (the full size is perm).  I am not liking the bag.  I’ve never liked clear bags, though.  It would be good for travel, though, when items have to be in clear containers, or in schools that require clear bags.  I love the white packaging of the products, it’s festive for the season!

Wintercool is really not a fitting name for this… there is nothing “cool” going on with these shades.  They definitely lean more warm.  That being said I love this set.  Creme d’Nude Lipstick is a fleshtoned Cremesheen lipstick that is popular in the core MAC line. 

Personally, I was never a huge fan of it, but I adore it when it’s under Fashion Whim Cremesheen Glass.  It’s the perfect, every day glossy nude lip. 

The peachiness of Fashion Whim reacts well with the light Creme d’Nude, making it wearable for me.  Stripdown Lip Pencil is brown, and while it doesn’t look like it meshes well with the two lip colors, they combine quite well on the lip (though I wasn’t a fan of the trio on myself). 

The mixture of the three lip products gives off a golden browned peach look.

On my own skin tone, I didn’t like the mixture of the three lip products.  I thought it too yellow for me (I’m NW25 but have been told I lean both cool and warm).  It made my face look sallow.  For a more nude and demure look, I would reach for MAC Subculture Lip Pencil (one of my HG’s for a LONG time!).

I’d also like to take this time to make a plea at MAC to do a mini Lip Pencil set!  I love the mini’s!  They are so perfect for my makeup bag!  Please, please!
