I know, I know. I’m exactly one year late to the game on this one. I think it’s ok to post discontinued things SOMEtimes… you never know when they might get repromoted or if you find them for a good price on eBay or LJ and you need to see a swatch!
Dior Czarina Gold (also sometimes referred to as Or Tsarine) was part of Dior’s Holiday 2010 Collection. I did review the Dior Five Golds 5-Colour Eyeshadow and the Timeless Gold Nail Polish from this collection. The only thing I can figure is that since I got this rather late (lucky phone call to a Bloomingdales that just happened to have ONE left!) I just never got around to swatching.
Czarina Gold has the new Dior brush, so it’s easy to paint on and look purdy. It has a gorgeous DEEP, dark brown base with a ton of gold shimmers in there, and also some flecks of green shimmer. The green and gold shimmer do not turn this into a khaki color, which I like! This is in my top 3 Dior polishes of all time, hands down. Czarina Gold was opaque in 3 coats.
Back in 2010 this polish retailed for $21. Dior polishes today retail for $22. This is 100% sold out at counters, but you may still be able to find it on eBay, LiveJournal, MUA… if you wait and hunt for it!
