NYX does some amazing eyeshadow trios. The online photos don’t do the beautiful colors justice, so hopefully you’ve had the pleasure of going into Ulta and checking them out for yourself.
From the NYX website:
Three’s definitely company when it comes to this trio of fashionably co-ordinated eye shadow shades in the NYX Trio Eye Shadow palette. Apply your statement shade on the eye lid, blend with the crease color and finish with the highlight. Includes a dual-ended sponge applicator and mirror for on-the-go touch-ups. Available in 45 eye-catching palette variations.
INGREDIENTS: Mica, Talc, Zinc Stearate, Mineral Oil, 2-Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, BHT, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Pigment.
I need to give credit where credit is due, the pigmentation and blendability of these eyeshadows are AMAZING. The trio of NYX Yellow Pearl, Antique Gold, and Golden (TS18) is an interesting blend of mustard yellow, khaki yellow, and dirty grey poupon mustard yellow… At first glance, I thought this trio would mud up and look like the contents of a baby diaper on me… on the contrary it ended up being an amazing look that complemented the brown color of my eyes. Little to no fall out on the cheeks makes clean up as easy as 1, 2, 3! 😉
I love the fact that the compact is mirrored, but I abhor the applicator. Sponge tip applicators are just crap to use. I cannot stand them for the application of eye makeup. Even ones by Chanel, though higher quality, are crap. You can get a decent set of NYX brushes, or even go to Target the get some nice Sonia Kashuk brushes.
There are plenty of NYX Trio Eyeshadows to choose from, if this yellow mix doesn’t suit your fancy. I think this particular one will look best on brown eyes or hazel.
For this EOTD I skipped the primer and went right for the far right shade in Golden for my lid color. Using the middle shade, Antique Gold, I applied lightly to my crease and outer V area. Finishing up I took the left color, Yellow Pearl, and applied lightly to the inner corners of the eye and brought it up above the crease to help blend out Antique Gold. I used Urban Decay Stash 24/7 Liner (I thought the khaki was a fun contrast to the yellow and brought out the crease color), and Benefit BADgal Lash Mascara to finish off the look.
NYX Trio Eyeshadows retail for $8 each and are available at Ulta and NYXcosmetics.com

I have that same palette and I love it. I use it all the time…the applicator is junk, but I never use those little eyeshadow applicators unless something doesn't apply well, then I use them for applying large amounts if needed be.
But, I digress…I have hazel eyes and light skin, and the colors look good on my eyes. I pretty much apply them like you did in this look.
