I was so impressed with my first MAC Bloggers’ Obsessions purchase of Hocus Pocus, and Jealousy Wakes that I had to get my hands on the other 2 eye shadows from this collection – Parisian Skies & Sparkle Neely, Sparkle!
Originally, from the preliminary swatches, I wasn’t so crazy about Parisian Skies & Sparkle Neely, Sparkle! I did a CP order for all four shades, and when I saw them in person I about died. I passed on these?! Am I nuts? I ran to the site and ordered them immediately.
Parisian Skies (Subdued grey-blue, Satin) is a gorgeous, dusky blue with a bit of a sheen. It’s smooth like heaven, and has a really nice pigment. I usually have issue applying Satin shadows, so I generally only buy them if I need a highlighter shade, but there were no issues with this one.
Sparkle Neely, Sparkle! (Deep rusty brown with champagne shimmer, Velvet) does indeed sparkle. You can definitely see the champagne shimmer in there, but also in the pot there is a hit of green shimmer. It’s really very cool. I took extra pics above from different angles to showcase that. You can click the photos to enlarge them. The shimmer doesn’t transfer as much as you would think when you use this shadow, but it gives off just enough to flaunt an understated glimmer.
