Technically… this palette doesn’t smoke in the literal sense. You won’t see it sneaking a Marlboro in the corner late night. The Dior Blue Tie Smoking Blue Palette can, however, give your eyes a smoldering deep blue smoke.
The packaging of Smoking Blue is gorgeous. Extremely heavy with the pattern of a Dior handbag, the inside of this palette features 4 shadows in sultry shades of blue and silver with a sheer pink lipstick that actually gives off more of a coral hue when swatched.
I found the texture of the shadows to run slightly gritty, but with decent pigment. Fall out wasn’t bad, but with any dark shades I always do my eyes before my face… just in case. Dark blue shades and me can go real wrong, real quick. Better to be safe than sorry! The lip shade is pretty sheer, I had to dig and swatch like crazy to get some color on my arm for photos. I do plan on doing a FOTD with this palette over the weekend. We’re going to a wedding and I’ll be all didded for that 😉
The Dior Blue Tie Smoking Blue Palette retails for $70.00 and is Limited Edition for Fall 2011. You can purchase this palette at Dior counters nationwide (try Nordstrom) as well as at Dior.com.
