MAC LIGHT PLUS Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder Swatches & Review

June 9, 2011

As some (or most) of you may know I’m a huge fan of Lancome Dual Finish Powder. That being said, for something I use SO much it is expensive. So I’m always on the look out for something comparable that I love just as much. I’ve been using the Lancome since high school (I’m 30 now!) and I have yet to find something that I love just as much, that will save me some money.

Recently during a CP I got trigger happy and did the order before my girl got her final list/payment to me and I ended up ordering the MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder in Light Plus. Instead of cancelling my order I decided I could give this product a try myself.

For reference, I’m MAC NW25. The Light Plus shade was a bit too light for me. Regardless I did wear it for a few days just to test it out. I really liked the feel of the powder, as well as how smoothly and easily it went on. It provided excellent coverage as well.

What I didn’t like, was that the powder seemed to fade. All powder will fade at least a bit, but this one needed reapplied much more than my Lancome ever did. So if I am reapplying the MAC more, I’ll use it more and in the end it will cost me more. More, more, more! =( The search continues..

MAC Studio Careblend/Pressed Powder can be found at freestanding MAC stores, department stores (such as Nordstrom) that carry MAC, or online. This product retails for $23.

I actually have tried Studio Fix before, and I do like the Studio Careblend better. Especially for summer. It just felt lighter.
