The lippies in this collection didn’t call to me at all. I went in on launch day not wanting ANY. Rachel at the Macy’s MAC counter did up my lips REALLY nice with Playing Koi, though, and in the end… I caved.
MAC Playing Koi Lipstick from the Quite Cute collection is described on maccosmetics.com as a creamy white peach pink. I would agree, except take out the part about the pink. It looks ghastly by itself.
It swatches GORGEOUSLY on my skin (MAC NW25) but on the lips it looks like poo. It NEEDS a liner. It NEEDS a gloss or something over it. Normally, Satin is my favorite finish for a MAC lipstick… I think this one would have been better off as a Lustre.
The other shades from the MAC Quite Cute collection are Quite Cute, Saint Germain (which we’ve seen repromoted over and over and over), Candy Yum-Yum, and Play Time. As of this blog posting, the only one that has sold out is Candy Yum-Yum. Kelly Osbourne was seen wearing it HERE and it is totally “her” shade. She looks gorgeous! This shade in person is really gorgeous too. If I was a continuous bold lippie wearer I would have been all over it.
The MAC Quite Cute Lipsticks are Limited Edition and all but Candy Yum-Yum are still available at maccosmetics.com. I’m sure you can still find it at counters if you do some leg work 😉

i totally agree, i love myth of the same formula but playing koi is even drier than that, much better as a lustre, its maybe too pale not to have a sheen to it isnt it.x

It looks good on the swatches and on your lips but it does look VERY different on both!!

I bought this one too. This looks great with In Synch Lip Pencil!
