I was going through my makeup, preparing for my next sale (I really need to pare down, and be ruthless about it!) when I realized I have not swatched most of my Chanel Quads! EEp.
I have done ONE – Stupendous. Which is most definately one of my faves.
Today I present the Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow in ENIGMA.
Enigma was released for Fall of 2010 as part of the Les Contrastes de Chanel collection. The shades are a shimmery peachy pink color, khaki, deep purple, and a charcoal gray. The cool thing about these shades are the shimmer inside of them. It’s hard to tell in photos, but each shade has a contrasting shimmer inside of it.
I love that Chanel shadows are so buttery and pigmented. You can feel the luxury of them as you apply. As a smokey palette, it’s an awesome addition.
The thing I don’t like about this quad is you really can’t use all 4 colors together. I know that shouldn’t matter, but it DOES bother me. I use the peachy color A LOT and the darker shades just lightly as a liner or in the crease. Sometimes as an all over lid if I’m going smokey… but my peachy shade is growing flat, and will most certainly run out before the other three shades. Which makes for a not so pretty palette.
This palette IS Limited Edition. When it launched the retail was $56, but Chanel has since raised the pricing of their Quads to $57. Though it is LE, Enigma is still available at random counters at high end department stores as well as Nordstrom.com and Chanel.com.
