September 2015 RocksBox Photos & Review + {Get a FREE MONTH}

Press Sample

This monthRocksbox hit it so out of the park with their shipment that I had a hard time sending it back! While I only kept one piece I wore all three items sent quite a bit. It’s definitely renewed my excitement for the service and I’m eagerly anticipating my next shipment.

Keep reading to see what I kept and how to get your first month free!

What is Rocksbox? First you sign up on the website (use code BLUSHINGNOIRXOXO for a FREE month!) and become a “Shine Insider” for $19/month. Shipping each way is FREE. Take the style survey and add jewelry items to your wish list. Three pieces of jewelry will then be sent to you based on your style and specific requests. Wear/keep them for as long as you want or return them anytime and get three new pieces sent to you immediately (IME shipping is really fast). You can cancel at any time.

Your $19 gets you unlimited jewelry rental – so say you get three pieces that maybe you’re not so crazy about or maybe you KNOW you love one and dislike the rest. Send whatever you don’t like back and they’ll send you a new set out. You can do this as much as you want all month! For any pieces you keep you can use your Shine Spend/Forever Spend or they can charge your card on file.

What is Shine Spend? Every month you’ll receive $10 in Shine Spend to put towards any of your purchases. So if you have a $20 necklace you want to keep and you use your $10 Shine Spend you’ll pay only $10 out of pocket! Your Shine Spend does not accumulate, so make sure you use that $10!

What is Forever Spend? For every person you refer that signs up for Rocksbox you get a $25 referral credit! Forever Spend will never expire even if you cancel your membership.

When your Rocksbox arrives you’ll get a little note (like below) telling you all about the items that you’ve been sent – name, pricing etc. Everything also comes packed very well, looking beautiful.

In this shipment I got…

From Fortuni, Bunched Gold Dangly Earrings in Gold. When I first saw these in person I thought they looked very immature (even though they were on my wishlist). It was the first thing that popped into my head. Upon wearing them, though, I was in love. They swung in just the right way and added a fun-ness to every look. The retail price of this item is $38.00 and the member price is $30.00.

From Gorjana, Taner Bar Small Necklace. This necklace was delicate but paired well with the earrings that were also in the shipment. It was wonderful for wearing with jeans or dressier clothes. I loved the style and if it’d have been silver I would have kept it. I’m starting to feel like I have way too many gold necklaces! I requested some silver pieces in the notes and also on my wishlist, so hopefully they’ll come in the next batch! The retail price of this item is $60.00 and the member price is $48.00. From House of Harlow 1960, Huaca Pyramids Large Hoop Earrings in Gold. I thought I was so over hoops until I put these on. I didn’t even like them until I wore them. They aren’t too heavy but they’re not cheap feeling. Perfect for dressing up and down. I loved them so much I kept them! The retail price of this item is $43.00 and the member price is $34.00.

Unlike

last month

this box was filled with items that I’ll wear the crap out of. While I only kept one item I wore each piece frequently enough that it took me awhile to send the box back to receive a new one. My absolute favorite part about

Rocksbox

is that I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m usually always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

Why, yes, I did totally skip posting my Rocksbox in July. This was actually my July box… I just wasn’t blown away… particularly because the piece I’d have liked the most arrived broken. However, as usual, I convinced myself it’s worth showing these pieces because they’re definitely pretty and they’ll suit someone – maybe you! So, if you’re into the service, sign up! This link will give you your first month free (enter code blushingnoirxoxo at checkout)! Can’t lose with free!

What is Rocksbox? First you sign up on the website and become a “Shine Insider” for $19/month.

In this shipment I got:

From Kendra Scott, Perry Necklace in Magenta Magnesite. I had requested this item on my wishlist, thinking it would up the ante on my “dainty gold necklace” collection. I loved how the gold was lighter than I’m used to with gold, but I thought the stone looked too plastic for me to wear. Like it was my daughters =\ The retail price of this item is $45.00 and the member price is $36.00.

From Slate, Double Point Studs. These were my favorite in this months box but I didn’t keep them because I have a lot of gold studs piling up there and they weren’t unique enough for me to warrant keeping – though I did like the price point! The rhinestones really dressed the earrings up and made them stand out. The retail price of this item is $38.00 and the member price is $30.00.

From Robyn Rhodes, Cedrick Necklace in Grey, Maroon, Clear and Gold. I thought this necklace was the most beautiful out of the trio I received and I was looking forward to wearing it… but it arrived broken. Between the two stones the link had come apart. Easily fixable with pliers, but because it wasn’t actually “mine” I didn’t want to risk messing with it and possibly ruining it just for the sake of the picture. Back it went. The retail price of this item is $98.00 and the member price is $78.00.

Like last month this box didn’t have me jumping up and down. Though it was definitely more “me” in terms of style. I do love that with Rocksbox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m usually always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

June 2015 RocksBox Photos & Review

Yes, that title says June. TBH I wasn’t excited about the Rocksbox shipment I got this last time. After I sent it back I got to thinking that me not liking the pieces doesn’t mean someone else won’t want to see them, so I should share regardless. The pieces just didn’t fit my style, but for the most part they are beautiful and will absolutely work for someone else.

What is Rocksbox? First you sign up on the website and become a “Shine Insider” for $19/month. Shipping each way is FREE. Take the style survey and add jewelry items to your wish list. Three pieces of jewelry will then be sent to you based on your style and specific requests. When your Rocksbox arrives you’ll get a little note (like below) telling you all about the items that you’ve been sent – name, pricing etc. Everything also comes packed very well, looking beautiful.

In this shipment I got:

From Slate, Mia Necklace. I had this item on my wish list to be sent. It was pretty, but looked better in the picture. I actually thought that in person the metal looked a little cheap. In the end it wasn’t for me =( The retail price of this item is $68.00 and the member price is $54.00.

From Jenny Bird, Flagstaff Earrings in Gold/Lapis. Lapis is one of my fave things so I loved the color but the style isn’t me at all. Usually I think that and put them on and end up loving, but that unfortunately wasn’t the case this time. The retail price of this item is $45.00 and the member price is $36.00.

From Melinda Maria, Mila Cuff in Gold. While this is a beautiful piece I have mentioned to Rocksbox before that I didn’t want to receive bracelets. Before I didn’t mind so much because I didn’t have many. I picked up a few and I never wear them. Ever. Months ago I told them to please not send bracelets. I’m pretty sure the message went unnoticed because 9 times out of 10 I have a bracelet in the mix =( The retail price of this item is $68.00 and the member price is $54.00.

Even though this box wasn’t it at all for me I do love that with Rocksbox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m usually always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send. You get a bummer month sometimes with any box, and this is my bummer month.

In this shipment I got:

From Kendra Scott, Tessa Stud Earrings in Chalcedony. I am obsessed with Chalcedony. I think the mint shade is so pretty and it looks great with so many outfits and styles. These studs aren’t small but they’re not big either. Perfection. I purchased these immediately upon receiving this shipment. The retail price of this item is $50.00 and the member price is $40.00 but I was also able to use my $10 Shine Spend so they ended up being only $30!

From Trina Turk, Medallion Collar necklace in Turquoise. This necklace was another huge love for me in this months shipment. It pairs beautifully with the Kendra Scott earrings and looks great dressed up or down. It’s unlike anything I own and I totally want to keep it but it’s one of those pieces that is on the pricey side. I wore it a lot over this last month and got a lot of compliments on it, but in the end I had to let it go. I think if it’d have been around $75 I could have justified it for sure. The retail price of this item is $158.00 and the member price is $126.00.

From Gorjana, Taner Shimmer Necklace in Gold. Gorjana is one of my favorite brands to get jewelry from and this piece is gorgeous. It was a little too similar to other items I already own so I sent this one back. The retail price of this item is $65.00 and the member price is $52.00.

I was really excited that all of the pieces I received this month paired up nicely together. It really hurt to send that Trina Turk necklace back. Hurt bad, y’all! You can request past pieces down the road, so fingers crossed when my budget opens up that one is still available!

I love that with Rocksbox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

Now that the details are out of the way let’s check out the goods!

From Kendra Scott, Hayden Necklace in Gold Iridescent Drusy. I loved the necklace from last month that was in rose gold so I wish-listed this one to get this time. I do love it but didn’t end up keeping it because I saw that I had a similar, delicate gold necklace. The retail price of this item is $60.00 and the member price is $48.00.

From Gorjana, Mika Cutout Drop Earrings. Gorjana is one of my favorite designers in the Rocksbox line-up. I wasn’t a fan when I first saw these but they look fantastic on. I have a pair of gold drop earrings from a past Rocksbox that I kept so these ones went back. They were fun to wear, though! The retail price of this item is $65.00 and the member price is $52.00.

From Trina Turk, Hexagon Stone Flex Bracelet in Turquoise. First reaction was LOVE. Next reaction was how the heck do you get this on?! It’s got an extremely strong magnetic clasp and it looked so cool it made me want it even more! The price was a little high for what I’d spend on a bracelet (I rarely wear them) so I ended up passing. It’s totally my style, though. The retail price of this item is $108.00 and the member price is $86.00.

I love that with Rocksbox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

October 2014 RocksBox Photos & Review #RocksBoxSelfie

For this months RocksBox I received three pieces that could easily be worked into a look together or worn separately. What’s interesting is that each item can also be dressed up or down. Jeans and dress. Check out what I got and let me know what your favorite piece is in the comments!

From Urban Gem, Katherine Necklace. When I first saw this necklace I loved it. It’s got a vintage flair with just enough of a statement going on without feeling like you’re screaming for attention. That being said, this necklace is definitely an attention getting piece. Never in my life have I gotten more positive feedback on any piece of jewelry. Of course, I kept it. The retail price of this item is $70.00 and the member price is $56.00.

From nOir Jewelry, Panther Head Earrings. At first I’m all.. panthers? No. Even as a Pitt fan, whose mascot is a Panther, I was like.. no. On, they’re pretty cute. I didn’t keep them because I didn’t feel like they’d be something I’d reach for ever, but they were fun to try and wear for a bit. The retail price of this item is $56.00 and the member price is $44.00.

From House of Harlow 1960, Braided Pave Bangle in Black. I loved this bracelet from House of Harlow. The black and gold with the pave accent was simple enough to dress up jeans but fancy enough to wear to an event. There is no clasp or hinge but it still easily fit over my hand and onto my wrist. If I wore bracelets more, I’d have kept it. The retail price of this item is $78.00 and the member price is $62.00.

I love that with RocksBox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time (though lately it’s seeming like I’m purchasing more often than not). I’m always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

Here is the best part! Yes, there is more! You can get purchase credits for referrals! Let me explain. For every person you refer that signs up for RocksBox you get a $25 referral credit! You can also get on Social Media (like you’re not already) and show off your baubles! #RocksBoxSelfie will get you entered into the monthly contest where you could win a different prize every month such as jewelry pieces, a RocksBox Purchase Credit, even a free membership – be sure to enter for your chance to win!

September 2014 RocksBox Photos & Review #RocksBoxSelfie

This months RocksBox was amazing. Every single item was a love for me and it was really hard to not keep all three pieces. Check out what I got and let me know what your favorite piece is in the comments below!

From Urban Gem, Cecily Necklace in Yellow. How beautiful is this? I’ve never seen anything quite like it for a necklace (in terms of the color matched with the style) and it’s also a shade I’ve been loving for a bright pop of color this season. Is it any surprise I kept this one? The retail price of this item is $50.00 and the member price is $40.00.

From Gorjana, Elea Cuff. I was obsessed with this gold cuff too. I’d have kept it as well if not for the fact that I have a lot of gold bracelets that I never wear =\ The bracelet was thin and it was easy to fit it to my wrist, which is nice because it wasn’t going anywhere. The retail price of this item is $134.00 and the member price is $107.00.

From Matterial Fix, Lattice Earring in Gold. The detail on these earrings was gorgeous and I love the small rhinestones worked throughout. I just bought the gold earrings from two months ago, or I’d have definitely kept these ones! (It’s also worth noting that I loved the earrings from this brand last month too!) The retail price of this item is $54.00 and the member price is $43.00.

(Makeup worn is Urban Decay – breakdown is here)

I love that with RocksBox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

August 2014 RocksBox Photos & Review #RocksBoxSelfie

For this month Rocksbox reverted back to pieces I’m likely not to wear together, but that I still have major love for. Especially that necklace. I mean, look at it… I can’t even deal right now with that gorgeous color!

From House of Harlow 1960, Five Station Necklace in Cobalt. I really loved this necklace. I got it awhile ago but in white and I loved it then too, but the cobalt blue puts it on a while other level! The retail price of this item is $75.00 and the member price is $60.00.

From Matterial Fix, Armor Earrings (Peru Collection). These earrings are dainty but dangly and statement making all at the same time. I loved that I could wear them and I felt dressed up but they didn’t feel heavy. I just bought gold earrings from RocksBox or I totally would have kept these. The retail price of this item is $56.00 and the member price is $44.00.

From Nakamol, Beaded Leather Wrap Bracelet in Copper & Silver. Wrap bracelets are always a good thing in these boxes. It’s one piece but it looks like you maybe took the time to do a bit of layering. The retail price of this item is $55.00 and the member price is $44.00.

I love that with RocksBox I can try new jewelry pieces and I can keep the pieces I want at a discounted price. I usually purchase an item on an average of 50% of the time. I’m always pleased with the quality and they are pretty spot on matching my style with the jewelry that they send.

Also, beginning January 15 get on Social Media (Instagram or Twitter) and show off your baubles! #RocksBoxSelfie will get you entered into the monthly contest where you could win a different prize every month. July 2014 RocksBox Photos & Review #RocksBoxSelfie

Remember how last month I said the pieces in my RocksBox set weren’t ones I’d wear together? Well this month is totally different because I was able to rock all three pieces at the same time (which I love!). All of the pieces were gold but ranged from statement to dainty. They all just worked so I took them all on vacation with me and rocked them at a lodge in the woods in Deep Creek, MD. Because that’s just how I do.

From Charles Albert, Alchemia Blue Recycled Glass Pendant. This necklace is totally blue, really gorgeous and was the perfect length for a bauble that size. It was awesome to wear for a bit but in the end I decided such a low statement necklace wasn’t for me. The retail price of this item is $65.00 and the member price is $52.00.

From Gorjana, Lima Bracelet. Gorjana is one of my favorite jewelry designers, on RocksBox and also outside of RocksBox. I’ve purchased many times from ShopBop because this is my go to brand for dainty gold jewelry. I loved this bracelet and it felt like I was wearing air (so light!). However, my OCD wasn’t okay with the little arrows flipping over. In the end, I had to send it back. The retail price of this item is $60.00 and the member price is $48.00.

From Gamine, Lark Earrings. Well, if you follow me on Instagram you know I kept one of these pieces, so it has to be these earrings! When I first saw them I immediately did not think they’d look okay on me. After I wore them just once I knew I was absolutely not sending them back. Let’s put it this way. I accidentally sent back a pair of Kate Spade earrings in place of these (oopsie) because I was so excited to keep them. Luckily the people of RocksBox are very honest and they contacted me immediately to send them back =) The retail price of this item is $39.00 and the member price is $31.20.

January’s prize was a $50 RocksBox Purchase Credit, this month could be designer jewelry or a free membership – be sure to enter for your chance to win!
