If you’ve been with me the last month or so then you know I went to The Makeup Show NYC at the beginning of May. There were a lot of new brands there this year that weren’t there two years ago… one being Natasha Denona which was featured by Beautylish.
Being that Natasha Denona has been widely popular among bloggers and vloggers I’d definitely heard of her and her products… my wishlist is pretty extensive because of all of the swatches and chatter. Why haven’t I purchased anything before now? Well, it’s a pricey brand. It’s likely if you’ve seen swatches and reviews it was of the Eyeshadow Palette 28 (I almost bought that one… the force was strong) which runs $239 plus tax. Technically the palette is the deal of the century since if you were to buy all of the shadows individually they’d cost $25+ each.
Because I wanted everything I decided to be smart about it and it was day 2 (which wasn’t as busy as Day 1 at TMS) I swatched every eyeshadow. I actually settled on Palette 04 (I believe) and it was sold out. The eyeshadow palette shown in this post, Palette 09, was a very close second so she came home with me.
Palette 09 has five beautiful metallic eye shadow shades in 45M Industrial, 44M Indian Gold, 18M Glam Green, 10M Aluminum and 14M Antique Olive.
The Antique Olive shade is what really knocked me off my feet. While all of the shades carry a soft, intense pigment you really get that “WOW factor” with Antique Olive. These eyeshadows are so buttery, blendable… I just can’t say enough about them. A really impressive performance and they last all day long over a primer.
The swatches below are done dry and on bare skin (no primers):
