Miracle Skin Transformer Coral Lip Rewind Swatches + Review

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

Always the one to keep any sort of fine lines away from my lips I dove on the chance to try a lip treatment from one of my favorite brands, Miracle Skin™ Transformer. The Lip Rewind Advanced Peptide Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 20($24.00 // Nordstrom) is available in five shades – Translucent, Pink, Berry, Love and Coral (which is the shade featured in today’s post).

The MSTLip Rewind Advanced Peptide Lip Treatment SPF20 formula is infused with anti-aging, lip filling peptides and designed to repair damage, boost moisture and fullness, protect from UVA/UVB sun damage as well as improve the definition of lip contour and shape.

While right now I don’t have lip lines to speak of I do like to preventative and wear products like this whenever possible. I found the formula to be smooth and non-sticky with comfortable wear. It has a slight coolness/tingling factor but it’s not overpowering or painful. I felt that it did plump my lips a bit. You’ll have to check out the pic and let me know!

The shade “Coral” is rather sheer and only offers a slight tint but I like that in a product that’s more of a treatment. I’d rather see it doing it’s job than providing a deep color.

The only con I have is that since this is designed to be packaging where you twist the bottom to get product to appear you may sometimes get more out than necessary… particularly the first time you use it and you have to twist the bottom around 20 full times.

What do you think of Miracle Skin Transformer Lip Rewind? Bottom line I love how it looks and feels and found it was easy to apply on the go. I’d definitely pick up a few more shades!

Miracle Skin™ Transformer Lip Rewind Advanced Peptide Lip Treatment Broad Spectrum SPF 20 retails for $24.00 and is available at Nordstrom and miracleskintransformer.com.

Summer Beauty – Top 10 Face Products with SPF

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

How is it mid-July?! I don’t get it AT.ALL. No clue where more than half the year went. I guess since it’s mid-Summer and also steaming hot it’s only appropriate that this weeks Top 10 Tuesday be on SPF. Here are my Top 10 Face Products with SPF to check yo’self before you wreck yo’self. SPF up, y’all!

In no particular order:

  1. IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Full Coverage CC+ Cream with SPF 50+*. Yes, you read that correctly! 50! The formula goes on light yet still has excellent coverage. If you crave heavier coverage it’s buildable.
  2. Kate Somerville Daily Deflector Moisturizer SPF 50*. Another 50! This oil-free formula not only hydrates and provides sun-protection but it also is packed with anti-aging benefits! The Advanced Actives penetrate deeply to stave off wrinkles while the SPF stays at the skins surface where it’s most effective. I love that it does all that and still feels light. I can still wear my makeup over-top without anything feeling heavy or uneven.
  3. Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer SPF 30*. This is a fantastic every day moisturizer with skin soothing botanicals that are great for the skin, while the SPF protects. I am obsessed with this moisturizer because a little goes a long way, it feels light-weight and isn’t greasy at all. The included aloe vera will soften and soothe.
  4. Chanel Les Beiges All-in-One Healthy Glow Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen. I’m loving that this light formula covers just enough so that I feel confident going out and also has a slight dewy glow to the finish that helps to blur imperfections.
  5. Dior Hydra Life BB Eye Crème. I’ve been playing with this off-and-on for awhile and it’s wonderful for toning down dark circles and puffy eye-balls while also illuminating to hide imperfections. The SPF 20 is an added bonus that will also protect that thin and sensitive area of the eye.
  6. L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation*. Using Opti-Blur Technology the illusion of flawless skin is created, every girls (and guys!) dream. This product feels amazing, looks amazing and contains an SPF of 18 for protection!
  7. Borghese Age-Defying Cellulare Complex CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 & Age-Defying Cellulare Complex Protect Moisture Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 15*. This is a fantastic and inexpensive tag-team of SPF for your face. The lotion is fantastic for your day-time anti-aging skin care while the CC cream is ligh, non-greasyt and still provides coverage and protection.
  8. Miracle Skin Transformer Face*. I love this for priming, concealing imperfections and generally being bad-ass at evening out my skin tone. Oh, and it has SPF 20 for protection as well. It’s like a bodyguard.
  9. Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizer*. This oil-free moisturizer provides a slight, natural tint to the face while still providing protection (SPF 20). I received this last Summer to test out and I’ve repurchased twice since then!
  10. Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30. The coverage of this is decent and provides the base for a flawless face. It absorbs quickly, so you have to work very fast, but once it’s on it’ll last the day (unless you’re in the water).

Makeup Wars Favorite Foundations

This week for Makeup Wars we’re sharing our favorite foundations, the products that we feel keep us at our prettiest!

I don’t really have just one favorite foundation. I use a mix of things depending on what I’m looking for, coverage wise, and I also factor in the season. Regardless, the four I tend to keep closest by my side are Miracle Skin Transformer, Clinique CC Cream, NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation and IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation. All serve different purposes, so layering them in different combinations provides me with the finishes I need on my mug for any occasion.

When I’m battling warmer weather I apply Miracle Skin Transformer to even out any skin discoloration as well as prime my face for makeup. When it’s colder I go for Clinique CC Cream because it’s a little heavier and provides more coverage.

If it’s an occasion I need more coverage for I wear a light coating of NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation over-top of one of the above. The final step is to dust a layer of IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation over my entire face. This is a powder foundation and really finishes the face and covers without looking cakey. If I’m just running to the school to drop kids off or pick them up, or to the store I simply put the Celebration Foundation on and it’s sufficient on it’s own for covering all the bad and making me look good 😉

Top 10 Items to Conceal & Correct featuring PIXI Beauty!

Our skin changes so much throughout the seasons, which means our makeup should as well. For most, Summer-time requires only a light amount of coverage with a light BB cream or a tinted moisturizer. In the colder weather I need to transition into something heavier with at least a medium coverage. For this Top 10 Tuesday we’re featuring our favorite products to Correct & Conceal (in any season)!

To begin your cold weather face prep, Pixi Beauty offers three products that will aid you in becoming flawless this Fall!

1. Redness Reducing Primer($28.00) – Even though it’s green in color, fear not! This primer is exactly what you need to reduce the appearance of the redness in your skin and also help prevent it from happening so much in the future. While normally I’m not a fan of using a skin primer, this works wonders in the cold weather for keeping my skin tone even as my makeup fades a bit throughout the day.
2. Crayon Combo in Wide Awake($18.00) – Now that we all have the Katy Perry song permanently in our heads, use this waterproof crayon to open up your eyes by lining the inner rim and also blending around the eyes, thus concealing how exhausted you are.
3. Eye Bright Kit in Fair/Medium($25.00) – This travel friendly kit contains four shades to fix flaws fast (and on-the-go!). Included are an eye brightener, a cover-up duo and a multi-purpose cream highlighter. Hide the imperfections and dark circles while absorbing anti-aging treatment ingredients. I’m so obsessed with hiding wrinkles around my eyes. I only turned 33 about a week ago, but that anxiety came with it. Totally weird!

I’m constantly switching out my face products based on seasons and type of event/day I’ll be having. Here are 7 more of my favorite products to use on my face throughout the year to help hide imperfections:

4. NARS Radiant Cream Compact Foundation – This is light for a foundation, but packs a nice punch of coverage, great for year-round use!
5. Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream Hydrating Colour Corrector Broad Spectrum SPF 30 – I use this mostly in the early Fall/Spring/Summer, but it’s still good in the Winter as the coverage is a little heavier than what you might expect.
6. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream – This has a heavier coverage, and I reach for this daily in the cold months.
7. 3LAB ‘Perfect’ BB Cream – an even heavier coverage than the Missha, but I always reach for this when I need to hide serious flaws and need a perfect complexion for photos.
8. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye – This buffs out to hide everything and anything. I use this one year-round.
9. Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal – This is great to spot treat. I mostly use this in the Summer, but it’s also good year round in a pinch! (not pictured the Miracle Skin Transformer Face, only because I feel like I pimp it way too much lol but I wanted to give it a shout-out anyway!)
10. Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer – This is a stick concealer, and is wonderful for blending into the imperfections of the face and also correcting them.

Top 10 Tuesday – My Favorite Cream Beauty Products

Cream Beauty Products is a pretty broad topic. When I first began to think of and pull my favorite items I noticed I was focusing way too much on just makeup, when cream can apply to all areas of beauty. Because of this, I chose to involve some hair and skin products as well that I absolutely love!

For this Top 10 Tuesday, please enjoy my Favorite Cream Beauty Products (in no particular order!).

  1. Living Proof Nourishing Styling Cream – I love this so much I bought the super size and have contemplating writing in to the company about possibly making a jug of it. If it was safe to do and would still benefit my hair, I’d drink it. Kills frizz fast. WOOT.
  2. Le Metier de Beaute Colour Core Moisture Stain LipstickSan Tropez has been a go-to peachy nude lip color for me for as long as I can remember. Smooth and pigmented, perfect for my tone… just can’t go wrong if I grab this.
  3. Le Metier de Beaute Lip Creme – I feel like you can’t talk about one LMdB lip product without including another. Cafe Creme works well with San Tropez for a lovely nude, sultry lip. Bonus: Not sticky in the least!
  4. Miracle Skin Transformer Face – Are you tired of hearing me talk about this yet? Creamy, easy to apply, helps makeup last all day. If it could cook I’d marry it. It also comes in a version for acne prone skin that I also love.
  5. Chanel Le Blush Cream de Chanel – This is a recent release from Chanel but it’s captured my heart so much I’ve already ordered another shade! Presage is shown above, and limited edition, get it fast!
  6. Missha Perfect Cover BB Cream – The perfect coverage, a lovely airbrushed look without appearing heavy. Missha BB Cream has a permanent place in my stash.
  7. IT Cosmetics Bye, Bye Undereye – This concealer will blow your mind. Did you ever dot concealer over a red area or imperfection and you’re like… um that didn’t really cover so well. This won’t happen with Bye Bye Undereye. A small dab will coat everything you need and more and is easy to buff and blend.
  8. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow – Seriously. If I’d have known how in love I’d be with this Seashore Frosts I’d have bought at least five of them. I use it at least once a week. There is no shade out there quite like it and it works well with so many colors. Plus, the formula is amazing.
  9. Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer – This product, along with the Anti Bac Clearing Lotion, saved my face from looking like I just turned 13 (Acne!). I should actually do a post on the products because they’ve been a godsend. I like to use them in between testing new skin care (because not all skin care works well for me and my sensitive, hormonal, acne prone skin – thank you, having babies).
  10. Kiehl’s Creme de Corps – This is the limited edition bottle from the Holiday 2012 LE Kenny Scharf release. This stuff is creamy, velvety smooth and doesn’t make my skin itch or react. It leaves me moisturized and supple. A love!

In hindsight, I’m thinking… darn I didn’t include nail polish! WTF, beauty blogger. That list would be ridiculously extensive, so let’s just pretend I spared you.

I hope you enjoyed my Top 10 Favorite Cream Beauty Products! Check out what the other bloggers love to use and tell us what your faves are!

Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control Tinted Skin Enhancer Swatches & Review

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

In the past, I’ve gone off and sung the praises of Miracle Skin Transformer Face. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better than that, it did.

Now, Miracle Skin Transformer Tinted Skin Enhancer comes in an Acne Control version, available in five shades – translucent, light, medium, tan and dark.

What Sephora says about Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control Tinted Skin Enhancer:

What it is:
A skin-perfecting tinted enhancer that creates a flawless finish as it moisturizes and treats acne prone skin, while fighting future breakouts.

What it is formulated to do:
Instantly transform your skin with this color correcting, breakout fighting, light-weight, tinted skin enhancer. Long wear, natural coverage conceals imperfections instantly, helping to diminish the appearance of blemishes, pores, acne scars, and uneven skintone for a smooth, matte, flawless finish.

It is formulated with SMARTsal10, a breakthrough, technologically advanced blemish fighting complex that combines salicylic acid with anti-microbial peptide-10 to promote a faster reduction in the appearance of acne and blemishes now and in the future.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Want complete control? Use the translucent shade at night to double up on your acne fighting efforts for day and night treatment.

(MST Acne Control in Light)

What makes the Acne Control version so awesome, for me, is that you use the same amount of product, but are getting more coverage. I also get hormonal acne breakouts on my chin and jaw area, this helps to heal and prevent that. This is my perfect product for concealing imperfections and also priming my face for makeup.

A rather big con you may have noticed is that unlike the original, this version doesn’t contain SPF. For me, this isn’t a huge deal since I have SPF in my powder, but for those who like having the extra coverage it might be a deal breaker.

Have you tried any products from Miracle Skin Transformer? I’m curious about the Lip Rewind!

Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control Tinted Skin Enhancer retails for $48.00 and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta, Nordstrom and miracleskintransformer.com.

Makeup Wars: Beauty Blogger Travel

Oh, you over-pack shoes?

As a Beauty Blogger I over-pack makeup.

When it comes to being sensible for travel in terms of fashion, I have it down. I actually lay out all of my outfits ahead of time so that I have only what I need. Everything I want to take is removed from my closet and throughout the 48 hours before my trip I remove things that aren’t must-haves. So, why can’t I do this with beauty?

I will tell you why. Because all beauty is a must-have to me! What if I NEED it?! Of course, my HG’s come along always, but depending on what you are traveling to and what events are taking place, you may need some other special items.

For this Makeup Wars, we’re taking you into our travel beauty bags to show you what we like to bring with us when we go out of town, on vacation or on any sort of trip (business or pleasure!).

So, this is probably a little bit more than what I’d actually end up taking, but I didn’t really choose an event to base this off of. I grabbed up my must haves. My absolute I’m-not-leaving-my-life-behind-for-an-airplane-without-you.

For the face, I absolutely bring the Miracle Skin Transformer Skin and Treat & Conceal, as well as Make Up For Ever Pro Finish (because it’s like a powder and foundation in one), Le Metier de BeautePeau Vierge Correcteur Concealer, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector and finally the Le Metier de Beaute Blush Kaleidoscope because it’s everything cheeky in one!

The eye makeup is where I can tend to go really overboard. Luckily items like the Urban Decay Naked Palette (versions one and two) make for excellent travel companions! Another palette that is a must have and can be worn for multiple types of events is the Le Metier de Beaute Penelope Kaleidoscope. The liners you see below are the Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Eye Pencil in Champagne (an excellent base for all shadows!), MAC Orpheus & Mystery Kohl Power, Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 23L to wake up (I also like 24L when I’m going for a natural look) and for a more dramatic look I’ll use NARS Carpates on the top lid. For mascara I would grab the Neutrogena Healthy Volume (because it’s currently the mascara I’m cheating on MAC Plushlash with), and to cap it off the MAC Clear Brow Set for eyes and Dior DiorShow Brow Styler. Of course, we can’t forget the eye primer – I tend to reach for Urban Decay Primer Potion the most.

For lips, I like to use Le Metier de Beaute because the brand is known for how well the products layer and wear. San Tropez Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick makes for the perfect base to layer on a shade to match any outfit. Three glosses from the same line that I would take along with me are Two Lips Lip Creme, Mums the Word Lip Creme and Red Velvet Lip Creme. For those times that you don’t want to worry about reapplication of ANY kind, Make Up For Ever #8 Aqua Rouge is a must have. My lip liner of choice is always MAC Subculture, because it’s the closest to my lip pigment. Urban Decay Ozone is also a great choice when you’re wearing deep colors that might bleed.

As for brushes, it’s easy to stay minimal because you can take brush cleanser in a travel bottle and wash them every night. The brushes that I have to have with me are always the Sigma F80, and MAC Brushes 168, 239, 219, 272 and 226.

There you have it! I stuck with just makeup for this post, but in terms of skin care I learned my lesson the hard way when I went to Disney World in April, so now I stick with my usual skin care from Murad as well as my frizz-free hair care from Living Proof. My fragrance of choice is Chanel Chance and I tend to try and get sample vials of that, especially if I’m on an airplane. I’ll also take whatever nail polish I’m wearing on my tips and toes as well as a top coat just in case. To see some of these things, check out a previous Makeup Wars that we did based off of our HG’s!

What are your must have travel items, beauty or otherwise?

Miracle Skin Transformer Face, Body, Treat & Conceal Swatches & Review – Exclusive Introductory Collection

In my October 2012 Birchbox laid two sample packets. The packets were of Miracle Skin Transformerfor Face. Miracle Skin Transformer is a product from Sarah McNamara. I pledged I was making the full size purchase, and I did. It took so long because the Face tube alone was sold out forever in every shade except dark and deep dark. I needed medium. After some time I was overly frustrated and cashed in all of my Birchbox points for the three piece starter set ($72.00), which includes Face, Body, and Treat & Conceal. It’s like crack and I’ll basically do anything to get it, even buy extra product that I’m not sure I’ll like.

I’m going to start off with the product I know I love, Miracle Skin Transformer Face ($48.00).

This is basically a tinted primer. If you pay attention to my blog, you’ll note that I’m not a huge face primer person. Even though I know it has it’s purposes and I even liked one or two that I’ve tried, I just feel like it’s an extra and unnecessary step in your makeup routine. These were my thoughts until I tried Miracle Skin Transformer Face and my mind got blown. It seriously works. It primes, it conceals imperfections, it mattifies and it makes my makeup last a lot longer. Start off with a small amount because coverage is buildable. Never in my life have I wanted to sing the praises of a product like I want to with this one.

Next, the Miracle Skin Transformer Treat & Conceal Eye & Face ($36.00). This product works RIDICULOUSLY well in covering imperfections and unevenness. I get red marks under my nose and this literally makes them disappear and it lasts all day! It may look WAY lighter than the Face product in the swatch below, but it blends in perfectly. A very little goes a long way, and though the tube looks on the small side it will last.

Finally, Miracle Skin Transformer Body ($34.00).

While I’m sure that this product works just as well as the others in it’s family, the shade provided in the set was insanely dark. It comes in Sheer, Glow and Bronze. Bronze was the shade included and it’s WAY WAY WAY too dark for me. I’m actually sending it down to Brittany in Florida. For a set such as this, especially in the Medium tone, I think that Sheer or Glow would have been a better product shade to include.

(L-R: Treat & Conceal, Face, Body)

You can purchase these products on Sephora, Birchbox or on the Miracle Skin Transformer website.
