Beat the Heat // Summer Beauty Survival

*This post is sponsored by BabbleBoxx.com on behalf of Single Edition Media.

This is about the point during the Summer where I’m over it. Over the heat, over the bugs, over the sweat… In all fairness it hasn’t been that harsh of a Summer, but the last few weeks have been brutal and I’m ready to move on to Fall, which happens to be my favorite season. My plans of surviving the rest of Summer include many a beauty product so in this post I’ll be sharing a few of them with you, explaining why they’ll work and sharing a few deals!

Butter™ London Lost In Leisure Lacquer Set // NEW POLISHES! YES. New nail polishes in my collection, regardless if I need them or not, always make me happy. This limited edition set from Butter London contains four nail lacquers as well as a guide to get the “Lost in Leisure Nail Art Look”. The four shades included are Rock Candy, Marmalade Skies, Fit and Skive.

Tempting by Sofia Vergara // This fragrance basically personifies sexy. It’s by Sofia Vergara, after all. When I first sprayed it I thought it was Summery candy sweet, but as it dried down a more sophisticated floral scent appeared. It’s the type of fragrance that’s perfect for Summer but can totally carry you into Fall. Pick the 1 oz. fragrance available exclusively at Perfumania online and in stores. The 3.4 oz. (as well as the 1 oz.) will hit major retailers nationwide in September.

LaCroix Cúrate Melón Pomelo // I probably got a little too excited when I saw this fanciness. Sure, everyone knows to drink water year round, but especially in the Summer where it’s way too easy to get dehydrated. When I want something a little more special, I like a bit of flavor – which is what makes the LaCroix Cúrate Melón Pomelo so perfect! It’s sparkling, 100% natural and my mom will be happy to hear a lot better to be drinking than my usual diet cola. 😉

Nad’s Exfoliating Body Wax Strips // Anyone that’s been around awhile knows that waxing is my preferred method of hair removal – particularly in the Summer. Nad’s I’ve heard of and used… but I had no idea that they now have Exfoliating Body Wax Strips! Using patented Xfol™ technology, these strips contain an exfoliator on the outside and wax on the inside to provide you with smooth, hair-free results. Since waxing I’ve learned how especially important exfoliating is – who wants in-growns?! No one, trust me. It’s awesome that you can use these easily at-home and DIY your hair removal.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Mineral Water Gel Moisturizer// Maybe you think because it’s not cold out your skin isn’t getting as dehydrated, but it totally is. Dehydration is more than just tight skin, it can even be the cause of acne! The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Mineral Water Gel Moisturizer has a lightweight, oil-free formula that provides 48-hour hydration. Ingredients like mineralizing thermal water, hyaluronic acid, aquabioryl and y-carrageenans make this the perfect moisturizer for morning and night. I love a gel moisturizer in the Summer because it feels cool to the skin when you apply – which we all need a little bit of in these hot months.

*Shop VichyUSA.com and get 20% off + free shipping with promotion code: BABBLE at checkout. Offer valid through 11:59pm PST, 08/15/2016. Offer cannot be combined with other discounts or gift sets.

How to Try New Things // Holiday Beauty Edition

Sponsored Post

The holiday season is your perfect opportunity to try out new things. Particularly festive things… for the holidays and New Years you basically can’t over-do it. I mean… you can… but if you’re someone who doesn’t generally go flashy to those of us that flash on the regular you’ll still be totally normal 😉 Some of the ways you can step out of your comfort zone and right into Holiday Party Ready are by experimenting with makeup colors, scents… even your tan.

The Red Lip. You know you want to. How many times a year can you justify rocking a sultry red pout? Okay a red lip could work for basically any holiday or occasion or walk to the bus stop (wait… or is that in my world?!)… but Holiday always makes me really think “red”. LAQA&CO has a light-weight, matte line of lip and cheek pencils called Cheeky Lip. Who has time to coordinate?! Not me… this pencil does it all for your lips and cheeks so you look that much more put together. Good choices for a holiday party are Mixtape (the red!) and Humble Brag (a bright pink to keep on hand just in case you chicken out on the red *wink* but still want something vibrant). If you aren’t ready for full on matte pick up Golly Gee Whiz Lip Lube which is a sheerer, glossy red. Not as in your face, but still allowing you to work it for the event.

TIP: For a smooth application and wear make sure you gently exfoliate your lips before applying any red (or deep, for that matter) lip color.

That HD Face. Maybe you’re a fan of a light coverage, but party time means you can go full coverage types of flawless. As I’m sure you all know I’m a major fan of the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation. I require a decent amount of coverage on more than just special occasions, so I actually reach for this at least 4 times a week. It hides all my flaws and has great staying power. Looking fabulous in party photos is a must.

TIP: It’s better if you just watch the experts 😉 Click the video below to get applications tips based on your skin type!

A New Fragrance. It’s so easy to get in a fragrance rut. Use holiday as your once-a-year-must-try-a-new-scent. Jessica Simpson TEN is the three “F’s” – fruity, floral and flirty! TEN is part of a limited edition tenth anniversary capsule collection and probably has the prettiest bottle design that I’ve seen all year. It’s so feminine yet bohemian… it really matches the scent – which is something I never thought I’d be able to say about a fragrance.

Special Offer: Receive a complimentary signature tote bag with the purchase of any large spray (Large Spray Sizes Priced from $59.00-$67.00) from the Jessica Simpson fragrance collection.

Bronze Your Stuff. And by that I mean with self-tanner. I always feel so much more confident and beautiful when my skin has a tan to it. It’s like it glows. And also a tan always makes you look and feel thinner (party time confidence bonus!). Tanning itself is dangerous, so I don’t do it. Using the best self-tanner is the way to go. Way Too Tan is a Dark Hybrid Tanning Silicone of the luxurious kind. It offers multiple natural tanning enhancers for a fast, gorgeous and deep dark tan. As a bonus for you skincare lovers out there this product also has anti-aging organic antioxidants and exceptionally high concentrations of Sodium Hyaluronate to boosts moisture and fight against aging by helping maintain skin elasticity and firmness.

TIP: Make sure you exfoliate your skin before applying any kind of self-tanner for smooth skin and an even application.

What new-to-you flashy beauty trend are you looking to try out this holiday?

6 Reasons Why My Dad is Completely Awesome + Nautica Giveaway

*This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #NauticaforDad #CollectiveBias

What makes a Dad a “Dad”? Certainly not just blood. Dad is the male anchor in your life, regardless of whether or not he’s biologically connected to you. He’s that guy that’s always there showing unconditional love as your protector, guide and theme park buddy. My dad and I used to LOVE to go to theme parks and go on all of the rides, randomly we still do when the time presents itself. My dad was always around for every event in my life whether it be an event he “had” to be at (such as graduation or a birthday) or an event where it’s 100% optional (like a school field trip). He’s the very reason I feel I need to be at every single one of my kids life events… no matter what it is.

So how do we celebrate this man? The man that earned being not just a Dad but a completely awesome Dad? Father’s Day is just one of the ways we can celebrate Dad all year long. In addition to picking up a few of his favorite things I’ll also be sharing this post with him. Basically so he has proof positive that I think he’s awesome in at least 6 ways 😉

  1. The ‘stache & tinted shades he rocked back in the 80’s. Burt Reynolds who?
  2. He didn’t whine (too much) about paying for my prom dress. And, to my credit, it wasn’t that expensive. You’re welcome, Dad.
  3. He was the best chauffeur. This man hauled me around to competitions for baton for years while I competed with two teams as well as did solos and also high school majorettes. He was at every.single.thing. He even helped set up and break down events because he was usually the only dad in the room. And.. muscles.
  4. Green beverages are his jam and he’s incredibly excited that they exist. Just look at the picture. He’s into it.
  5. He plays catch with vim & vigor. And doesn’t seem too shocked about the bendy thing my daughter is doing… in fact he’s definitely more concerned about his posture for catching that ball…
  6. He smells nice. Mostly. Here’s why. The man loves his pure garlic. If he could shove it in his mouth by the fistfuls he would.. and tbh he probably has. But he also knows a good fragrance. Which brings me to part of his gift this year…

My dad works very hard and always has his entire life, but he also likes to kick back. He loves to go on adventures and vacations. He’s that type that just decides on a Friday (or maybe a Thursday, I don’t judge) that he needs a little vacation, goes to the airport and picks a destination. Usually it’s somewhere in Florida, though (LOL)! The Nautica Voyage Gift Set at Macy’s is the perfect choice to add to his Father’s Day haul because it includes a 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette, 2.5 oz Aftershave Balm, 2.5 oz Shower Gel, and 1 oz Eau de Toilette (<—– for his traveling!).

I picked this set up at Macy’s in the Men’s Fragrance Section (pic below) where it’s priced at $65.00 (buy it here). It’s a great deal because the retail is $128.00 so the discounted price fits nicely into my budget and allows me to pick him up a few more of his favorite things like a candle (he loves candles more than me and it’s probably his fault I buy them so often) and a gift card from Macy’s (which, no joke, he wants for every single occasion that I buy him a gift for which is why I included it because what you see in the pics is literally what he’s getting for Father’s Day).

You guys I just realized as I was looking at those throw back pics to the pics of today… my Dad still rocks tinted shades. Some things never change 😉 Yet another reason I love my Dad! Sidebar I’m glad the ‘stache is no longer. Only cool in the 80’s, pops!

Who’s the father or father figure in your life that you love to celebrate?

Mother’s Day is gone for another year and while many of us go above and beyond for Mom on that day it’s also important to remember her year round. Life get’s so busy and it’s not always easy to remember to say or show gratitude towards our Moms or any mother-like figures in our lives, whether they be members of our family or some of our close friends.

You don’t need a special day to give the top lady in your life a little gift and showing appreciation doesn’t have to break the bank. For instance, my Mom loves to try out new, beautiful fragrances. But. She also has her signature scent. Because of that she doesn’t like me or anyone else to spend a ton of cash on perfumes. At Walmart I picked up a couple of scents from Love2Love – the new Bluebell + White Tea and the Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa because it makes me think of the warm, Spring weather that my Mom loves.

Bluebell + White Tea

Jasmine + Sparkling Mimosa

If I want to add in some extra goodies to the package I pick a fun or funky piece of jewelry and a nail polish or two. Nothing is more girly than fragrances, polishes and jewelry!

Look for the special promotional display at Walmart (shown below) that features the new Bluebell + White Tea fragrance as well as the $0.50 Love2Love gift bag to package everything up in. There are five fragrance options to choose from so you can pick up whatever suits the recipient the best. All are housed is a beautiful, glass bottle capped with a whimsical flower petal. It’s the perfect, affordable indulgence!

How do you show appreciation to an extra special Momma in your life?

Gift Yourself Thymes for Mother’s Day // Selfish Appreciation for the Selfless

*Today’s post is sponsored by Thymes, but my obsession with their beautiful fragrances is all my own!

Life and stress go hand in hand. At any age our stresses seem like they’re the end of the world whether we’re a 4 year old that didn’t get a new toy or an adult that needs to find time to get the car inspected. Obviously, these stresses are very minor in the grand scheme of things but they still happen. They’re always there. When you’re a parent stress magnifies because you’re now not only carrying around your daily stresses but also focusing on your child’s as well. We all want our kids to be carefree, innocent and have the best time ever. It all seems so simple. What you learn as they grow and go through life is that their stresses will hit you right in your heart. A lot of times you just can’t do anything to help other than be there with ice cream and ready to snuggle.

For this Mother’s Day gift yourself.

Too often as parents we don’t think about ourselves and our own mental wellness. We’re completely selfless. As much as I stress about my own things I worry and stress about my kids more. It’s hard to remember that we need to be grounded and focused to be the best we can be for our kids. Mother’s Day is a great day to remember to put the focus on you and while there’s nothing better than your kids handing you their homemade crafts and cards it’s also okay to indulge a bit.

When the kids are in bed it’s time for me to try and relax, at least enough where I can eventually think about going to bed myself. Call me crazy, but certain scents help me breathe and breathing is the first step to relaxation for me. Since before my kids were born Eucalyptus has been my go-to scent for when I want to relax or have a spa moment. Thymes has an awesome collection of Eucalyptus products ranging from bath & body to home fragrance. It’s the perfect selection for my at-home mental de-stress.

Thymes Eucalyptus Bubble Bath ($21.00 // Thymes)

Thymes Eucalyptus Candle ($27.00 // Thymes)

Thymes Eucalyptus Home Fragrance Mist ($17.00 // Thymes)

Thymes Eucalyptus Sink Set ($32.00 // Thymes)

If Eucalyptus isn’t your thing Thymes also has a plethora of other fragrance options – definitely something for everyone. Gift yourself and gift a loved one while you’re at it 😉

Valentine’s Day Red Lips & Pretty Gifts // Gift Guide

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. But you knew that. Chances are your plans this weekend are to go see 50 Shades of Grey this evening with your girlfriends and drink pitchers of Long Island Iced Teas (which may or may not have been an option for me) and then tomorrow spend the day getting ready for the date night to end all date nights. Sunday equals recovery day. All weekend the major things on a gals mind are red lips and pretty gifts. Here are some of my current faves of both.

My friend’s little girl, who just turned 6, was getting ready for her Valentine’s Day party at school and asked her mom if she could wear red lipstick. “Why?” her mom asked. “Because you wear red lipstick on Valentine’s Day. Every one knows that”. I mean… truth. For V-day I absolutely auto-reach for red. Day-to-day I wear a nude or pinky-nude lip… sometimes just a lip balm. But on Valentine’s Day, or during a Valentine’s Day activity (such as a party) I reach for the red. In honor of this Hallmark Holiday here are some excellent red or reddish choices that you can buy to wear this Valentine’s Day (or any date night, really!).

(L-R: Lather Cinnabar Silk*, Milani 66 Matte Passion*, NARS Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, Dior 758 Lys Rouge Rouge Dior Balm, NARS Carmen Audacious Lipstick*, Jordana Matte Style*, Cle de Peau 311 Extra Rich Velvet Lipstick, Make Up For Ever 8 Iconic Rouge Aqua Rouge Lip Color, Too Faced Melted Ruby and Fresh Sugar Cherry*.

In addition to red lips there is also minor major pampering involved in V-day. You want to look, feel and smell the prettiest. (Note: even if you’re not going anywhere do this anyway, because every one deserves all the pampering they desire!). And, you know, buy all the things because instant gratification is awesome too.

Clinique is synonymous with Happy. Everyone knows about Happy. But have you checked out Happy Heart? Happy Heart Perfume Spray*($38.00 // Clinique) is like a warmer, softer and more floral version of Happy and I’m seriously in lust with it. It may or may not have to be my actual Valentine. $10.00 of the purchase price goes towards the Happy Hearts Fund. In addition to the perfume there is a Happy Hearts Chubby Stick in Plumped Up Pink* ($17.00 // Clinique) available.. you know I love me some Chubby Sticks. This particular one also benefits the Happy Hearts Fund so $3.00 of each one sold will be donated to the organization.

Sherrieblossom ICEbOX*. The end all be all of ALL of the makeup organizers and storage out there. It’s pricey but then you get what you pay for. If you’re into luxe and quality, this is the one you want your makeup to live in. I reviewed the ICEbOX Wide here but I have my eye on the Little London next!

OPI Infinite Shine Nail Polish* ($12.50 each // Ulta). You need to have your nails looking fresh on Valentine’s Day. While the OPI Infinite Shine system didn’t last any longer on me than their usual polishes but the shine could not be beat throughout the entire wear test (which I showed on my Instagram account). My nails were just as shiny on Day 1 as they were on Day 5. I’ll have swatches and a better review up next week.

Nail Butter*($24.00 // NailButter.com). If you’re going to be flashing the Infinite Shine you better make sure your cuticles aren’t all raggedy. Nail Butter is fantastic for making your cuticles look renewed without worrying about greasy hands or gooping on too much product. Keep using and you’ll have the healthiest looking hands out of allll your peoples. Unless they use it too in which case at least you’ll match. It’s also great for those awful dry areas on your elbows, toes, feet… just bathe yourself in it.

Peter Lamas has two products currently out that you should consider putting into your routine. The ExfoliatingPumpkin Facial Scrub*($19.36 // Amazon) and the Nourishing Buriti Oil Moisturizer*($19.00 // Amazon). I’m not super crazy about the scent of the moisturizer but it feels SO GOOD. The “oil” aspect threw me off because I expected greasy and it definitely was not. This is meant for the face and neck but since I’m so prone to break outs I’ve been using it on my hands. The scrub smells amazing and isn’t too abrasive. I have sensitive skin so it’s something I could only use once a week or so, but it does a great job at polishing my skin and making it glow.

ALEX AND ANI got with The Child Mind Institute and Charity by Design to launch the Little Brown Bear charm ($28.00 // Bloomingdale’s) which will directly benefit the Child Mind Institute, the only independent nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to transforming mental health care for children. 20% of bangle sales will go to the Child Mind Institute. The charm, with its teddy bear image, is a reminder of the carefree days of childhood.

Lather has 100% All-Natural Lip Balms* now available three tinted versions ($7.50 each // Lather)! These feel, smell and taste soooo good. Super nourishing it’s seriously like a treat every single time I use one. Today is the last day to enter their giveaway on Instagram so run!

I feel like this listing also serves as a gift guide of sorts. Personally, I’d flip out in happiness to get a goodie bag with all or even some of these things inside. Add in some Godiva and I’m yours.

What is your go-to lip shade for Valentine’s Day/date night?

Elizabeth Arden // Untold & Long-Lasting Holiday Beauty

Sponsored Post

Two of the first things I notice about another woman are their fragrance and their lips. Sorry people, in my beauty saturated world, shoes are secondary. The fragrance you wear can often be your first impression when interacting with another person, quickly followed by a big smile – surrounded by an even and pigmented color applied to your lips. Elizabeth Arden has your holiday beauty needs covered with the UNTOLD Eau De Parfum Spray and with a new line of Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks.

UNTOLD Eau De Parfum Spray contains notes that were specifically selected to evoke a characteristic of the UNTOLD woman all blended together and housed in a gorgeous multi-faceted bottle that is shaped with a curve. Some of the notes are Pink Pepper and Bergamot (for vibrancy), Amber and Musk (for sensuality), Patchouli Heart LMR* and Sandalwood (for mystery), Gardenia petals and Egyptian Jasmine LMR* (for refinement) and Pear and Blackcurrant Bud LMR* (for unpredictability). This bottle will look gorgeous and sparkling on your vanity while the scent will make you feel modern and luxurious at home or at a holiday party!

The Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks are housed in shiny gold square tubes pressed with the red door emblem. The formula includes a blend of skincare ingredients, emollient butters and vitamins that will condition the lips and provide moisture for long-wear color that won’t feather or fade. I was impressed with the wide-range of shades (40 in all!) as well as the pigment and formula. The long lasting beauty benefits don’t hurt either, especially when you’re at a holiday party and can’t touch up as often as you’d probably like!

Below I swatched 5 of the 40 lip shades in (L-R) Ginger Glaze (shimmer), Mango Cream (cream), Electric Pink (cream), Rose Berry (shimmer) and Iced Coffee (pearl).

You can purchase Elizabeth ArdenUNTOLD Eau De Parfum Sprayhere($62.00-$82.00) and the line of Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstickshere($25.00 each).

What is the first thing you notice about someone when you meet them?

Makeup Wars – My Beauty Diary

Affiliate Links

This week for Makeup Wars we decided to do a beauty diary. Basically a “my day in beauty”. I tried to be diligent in writing down what I was using all day, so hopefully I don’t forget anything! Here’s what happens to my face, bod & hair throughout the day (beauty wise!).

Good morning!
I wake up around 7-8am (God willing, sometimes insomnia visits and that becomes around 3am). After my son is out the door I hop in the shower and hit my mug with Murad Clarifying Cleanser and my Clarisonic. I also like to use a lip scrub from LUSH. Currently I’m still using Santa Baby from Christmas. Once or twice a week I exfoliate my face with Kate Somerville ExfoliKate. For the bod I’ve been using Dove Pistachio Cream with Magnolia Body Wash & Body Bar. When shaving happens I generally use Schick Hydro Silk and Skintimate Shave Gel. Hair gets the AMAZE-BALLS OGX Sea Mineral Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner. I haven’t even been using a hair mask once a week, because the OGX is that good.

Out of the bathroom I start by applying Kate Somerville Anti-Bac Acne Treatment Lotion all over my face. Then I apply a spray lotion all over my body – something like the Vaseline Spray & Go or St. Ives Fresh Hydration Spray. The hair gets a generous hit of Living Proof No Frizz Styling Cream (starting at the ends and putting very little at the crown) and Agadir Argan Oil at the ends. My fave perfume is Chanel Chance EDT but lately I’m also reaching for Chloe Roses de Chloe.

In the interest of saving time I’ll just go through my daily makeup routine when I’m not actually going anywhere but the store or to pick the kids up from school. Generally (unless something is being tested) I start with the eyes and apply Urban Decay Primer Potion. MAC Utterly Becoming Paint Pot is an excellent base for all things eye balls and on top of that I go easy with Urban Decay Naked Basics or Hourglass Suede Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo. Lately I’ve been getting at my brows with Vincent Longo Eyebrow Micro Pencil and NARS Oural Brow Gel. For a liner I reach for something neutral like Marc Jacobs Ro(Cocoa), Urban Decay Hustle or MUFE Aqua Eyes in 24L. Mascara is usually IT Cosmetics Tightline and/or Milani Total Lash Cover. Face Makeup is IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation, IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye/Hello Light Liquid Brightener and IT Cosmetics Full Coverage CC+ Cream. On the cheeks I’m using NARS Olympia for contouring and one of the six Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. For my lips, when it’s just an easy day like this, it’s always some sort of sheer-semi sheer gloss like my current fave YSL Gloss Volupte in Golden (20).

Through the day…
During the day I usually just touch up as needed. Generally that just means a dusting of IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation on the nose and reapplying gloss. More often than not, though, I just end up slicking on Jack Black Lip Balm (of which I’m obsessed with).

Nighty Night!
The makeup removal process is quick for me. I remove my eye makeup with MAC Gently Off Eye & Lip Remover. My makeup is removed by using Murad Clarifying Cleanser & the Clarisonic. Lately I’ve been obsessively staring at wrinkles by my eyes, so I start out my skincare regime with Le Metier de Beaute Revive Eye Concentrate and then I smooth on StriVectin SD Advanced. Because that isn’t moisturizing enough for me in the evening I also use Kate Somerville Oil-Free Moisturizer. I can’t fall asleep with dry lips so I always dab on a bit of LUSH Honey Trap Lip Balm. I also check for stray eye brow hairs that managed to pop up and get at them with my Tweezerman Tweezers.

After all of that I settle down to watch a show and slather on some LUSH Lemony Flutter & pop on my gloves.

I seriously didn’t feel high maintenance about myself until I wrote this post. Tell me I’m not alone!

Top 10 Stocking Stuffers for Your Man

Okay, I rarely post on anything for men, but I know you’re out there and I’m about to throw you a little love with today’s Top 10 TuesdayTop 10 Stocking Stuffers for Men!

This post is also for the ladies. I don’t know how many times I’ve sat down and had no idea what to get a guy for Christmas. Sometimes the cutest idea is to go to the store, grab a stocking, and stuff it full of wrapped goodies. These goodies don’t have to be expensive (I personally like to put the one “bigger” item at the bottom and have smaller and less expensive things above).

Obviously, this has to be personalized towards the guy in your life that you’re shopping for (whether it be a husband, boyfriend, father, uncle, brother.. etc), but this will at least give you a few ideas!

  1. A Cologne Gift Set. This may or may not be too big for a stocking, depending on how large you go when it comes to footwear that hangs on your mantle. If you’re unsure what he’d like go with the Fragrance Sampler for Him from Sephora. It has 14 of the most sought-after men’s fragrances in a travel bag as well as a voucher for a free full size fragrance at any US Sephora store.
  2. I asked a few dudes what they like to get and quite a few said a shaving set/dop kit. Anthony Logistics has The Perfect Shave Kit and I know for a fact men love the products. The shave cream by itself makes a perfect addition to your mans stocking.
  3. Food. That’s honestly a no-brainer. Beef Jerky… sunflower or pumpkin seeds… nuts… man things. Whatever your guy likes to snack on.
  4. Sports Stuff. This being Pittsburgh we’re Steelers/Pirates/Penguins people, and it’s likely your guy has a hometown or college favorite as well. Roll up a t-shirt or even a pair of socks. Guys appreciate it if they think we love that they love sports.
  5. Tech Gear. Maybe he needs a decent phone case or a car charger. Some sort of accessory he’s always whining he needs to pick up but never does. If he’s pretty good about grabbing what he needs an iTunes gift card will work as well. No guy says no to jams.
  6. Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm. These are a cult fave for men and women alike. Get him a couple, you know you’ll probably steal it anyway.
  7. Jack Black Body Rehab Scrub & Muscle Soak. He works hard, he plays hard… he’s probably crying grumbling about how he’s sore… he can go soak in the tub and scrub up. This helps him and you because then he’s all yummy when he comes out.
  8. Please get that man a good pair of toe nail clippers. He’ll never do it for himself and if he’s big into flip flops in the Summer you’ll do the world a favor. Tweezerman has a combo set and it’s only 9 bucks.
  9. Car Things. Air freshener (which saves you having to sniff whatever groady man scent he thinks is amazing), small ice scraper, de-icer (you wouldn’t believe how often I’ve needed that crap in the winter).
  10. IOU Book. The least expensive of them all…. Keep the certificates as G-rated as doing his laundry or go as raunchy as whatever. Everyone in the world appreciates these.

You can also theme it! Not too far from where I live is an awesome ski resort.. if you have one within driving distance you can always get a weekend ski package for at the bottom of the stocking and fill up the rest with things like chapstick, a winter hat, scarf, kleenex, travel shampoo… he’ll clearly think you’ve lost it until he hits the trip at the bottom, but how fun!

Tell me how you surprised that special someone in your life during the holidays in the comments!  And be sure to check out the other bloggers Top 10 Stocking Stuffer ideas below!

Clinique Calyx Fragrance Photos & Review

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

Depending on your age you may or may not remember the first time Calyx launched back in 1986. This month get ready for a blast from the past as Clinique reintroduces the fragrance that paved the way for all fruity floral scents.

What Nordstrom says about Clinique Calyx Fragrance:

Clinique Calyx fragrance is an energetic, liberating scent designed to lift your mood with its blend of citrus, florals and greens.

Calyx is a strong, feminine fragrance with topnotes of grapefruit. At first you may feel it’s a little overpowering, but it does die down quickly into a very flirty floral. It smells very green (woodsy, I guess you could say) and crisp. You need only to mist into the air and walk through it for the scent to last throughout the day, which is wonderful because the bottle will last you a long time.

Clinique Calyx Fragrance retails for $59.00 (1.7 oz) and $69.00 (3.4 oz). Calyx is available for purchase at Clinique counters nationwide (Nordstrom, Macy’s) and at www.clinique.com.
