Since August (!!!!!) Holiday makeup collections have been out in full force and they’re showing no signs of slowing down. Because I love to shop I thought it’d be fun to share with you a few beauty items I picked up and a few that are on my wishlist (based on reviews from websites and other bloggers). Note: these items are, for the most part, limited edition. Shop early!

In alphabetical order:

  1. Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette($42.00 // ULTA Beauty). I bought this when it first released and am obsessed with it. You know you’ve heard of it, you know you want it. I also need that Mario palette!
  2. beautyblender® + Too Faced Holiday Kit($40.00 // Sephora). I’m obsessed with this. It’s baby pink AND it has an awesome beautyblender AND one of my favorite TF highlighters AND a blotterazzi that I LOVE. Everyone just go ahead and buy me this for my bday. I’ll wait.
  3. BECCA Blushed With Light Palette($34.00 // Sephora). BECCA blushes are just so pretty and glowy… one of the few brands where I don’t mind my blushes to shimmer a bit because it’s not overkill and doesn’t accent pores.
  4. Benefit Cosmetics Sassy Lassie “Chick Picks” Beauty Bestsellers Kit($39.00 // Sephora). So many new products, so little time. This kit features 4 of the must-have products from the brand, all of which I love!
  5. Bobbi Brown New York Palette($65.00 // Nordstrom). Sure, the colors are something you might already own… but you guys know how I love packaging. Also how much I LOVE New York. There are also kits for Paris and London!
  6. Burberry Beauty Festive Set($115.00 // Nordstrom). Military Red Lipstick is one of my fave reds ever and it’s in this kit. That along with nail polish and a lot of glow make it a NEED.
  7. Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Muse Luxury Palette($52.00 // Nordstrom). Excellent shadow quality from this brand PLUS all the gold tones you need to do holiday in one palette.
  8. IT Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Essentials Your Superhero Eyes Must-Have Eye Set($28.00 // ULTA Beauty). Oh, that’s a mouthful… but Superhero MATTE shades that you can transform into non-matte shades? Great product performance and a fabulous price. Own you some IT.
  9. Jouer Powder Highlighter($24.00 // Nordstrom). Particularly in the shade Rose Quartz. Citrine seems to be the hot seller… but Rose Quartz is where it’s at.
  10. Kat Von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set($49.00 // Sephora). Though Lolita 2 is my fave (and not in this set) there are a ton of shades that I’d love to try and the color palette is one I gravitate towards. Except for maybe that purple… but I’d try it 😉
  11. LORAC Mega Pro Palette 3($59.00 // ULTA Beauty). LORAC has always had wonderful shadows and I love their palettes… but Mega Pro 3 is really speaking to me in all the ways.
  12. MAKE UP FOR EVER Artistic Lip Ink and Brush Set ($40.00 // Sephora). I love a good red and I love how different the product is. Definitely a good shade for the holidays!
  13. PÜR Cosmetics The Perfect Matte 5 Pc Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick Collection w/ Lip Oil($34.00 // ULTA Beauty). Another long product name but you have no idea how long I’ve wanted to try this liquid lipstick. I work fo the brand and can’t get my hands on them! Insanely popular, must have.
  14. Sephora Favorites Trending: Beauty’s Most Coveted($75.00 // Sephora). Fave brands + fave products = gift set win. Give to yourself 😉
  15. Tarte Tartelette Treasures Eye Set ($59.00 // ULTA Beauty). Tartelette in Bloom and Tarteist Mascara are some of my favorite products. I haven’t tried the Double Take Eyeliner but at a $92.00 value for just $59.00 I’ll take my chances.
  16. Urban Decay Junkie Vice Lipstick Palette($35.00 // Sephora). The only lip palette I’ve ever LOVED. It’s a good deal and full of must-have cold weather shades.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Top Picks // Fashion, Beauty & Home

Affiliate Links

It’s my favorite time of the year – the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! With a lot of personal things going on this year I wasn’t able to get to the store to shop on day one so I picked up a few things online and I do plan on going in at a later date to check out more items. The sale begins July 14 for any Nordstrom Debit or Credit Cardholders and then begins on July 22 for everyone else. Check out my picks below and make sure you let me know what you’re going for!

*AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream Duo($29.00). The first time I ever got this was during a Nordstrom Anniversary Sale maybe 2 years ago and it’s been a staple in my life ever since. The scent is perfection and it feels amazing. I keep it by my bed and slather it on before bed. It’s not greasy but it is moisturizing so you can drift off immediately after applying. IDK why I didn’t think that other products would also exist but there’s a AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion Duo($48.00) too! Life is good.

*Burberry ‘Glow-to-Go’ Set($76.00). My favorite eyeshadow of life is in this set (Pale Barley) along with several other killer items in a beautiful Burberry pouch. Yassss yasss yaaaaaassss.

*Charlotte Tilbury Instant Beauty Palette – ‘The Dolce Vita Look’ 5-Minute Face On the Go($75.00). A signature look from one of my fave brands in a travel-friendly palette! MUST HAVE.

*Clarisonic ‘Mia Fit – Pink’ Skin Cleansing System($153.00). Last month I got this as a press sample and I love it even more than the bigger size! It’s much easier for me to hold and maneuver around with the same results. After the sale the price will go up to $219.00 so grab it now!

*Drybar ‘Beach in a Box’ Collection($140.00). I’ve never personally tried these items but I hear they’re good and they’ve been on my “someone buy me this for my bday” list for a while. Hair clips, curling iron, brush, styling products… anything for that beachy look, amiright?!

*Kiehl’s Jumbo Creme de Corps with Pump($52.00). If you’ve never tried this cream out before then you’re missing out. This jumbo size is a great deal during the sale and will last you a long time.

*MAC ‘Look in a Box – Sunblessed’ Face Kit($39.50). There are several sets of the Face Kits but this one is my fave. You get four products plus a bag at a pretty sweet discount.

*Murad ‘Perfectly Beautiful’ Skincare Set($89.00). The Invisiblur™ Perfecting Shield is one of my fave items, but it’s pricey. This set takes the sting out of the cost by pairing it up with two other awesome products!

*Sigma ‘The Power Pair’ Set($34.50). My fave brush and my fave brush cleaning mat. Both making my life easier every day.

*adidas ‘Superstar’ Sneaker($59.90). I can’t even tell you the last time I owned just a plain white sneaker, but these call to me. I love them more than anyone should love shoes ever.

*Alex and Ani Wrap Bracelet($29.90). I don’t wear much arm candy but this one in Gold, vintage looking and is exactly what I love to wear to dress up. The price is perfect, too!

*Alexander Wang Darcy Lambskin Leather Tote($598.90). TBH I’m not much of a hobo bag person lately. I tend towards a bag that can easily be worn crossbody. BUT. Look at the Rose Gold studs on the bottom! AHHH! So beautiful.

*Kendra Scott ‘Elisa’ Pendant Necklace($32.90). There are four options but Pyrite is my fave. I have a few of these necklaces and they just wear so well and match everything. If you don’t own at least one get on it ASAP!

*Rebecca Minkoff Dog Clip Leather & Suede Saddle Bag($129.90). Longtime readers know what a fan I am of Rebecca Minkoff and am especially a fan of her bags in the color Port – a beautiful burgundy. This saddle bag is PERFECT for Fall!

*Tom Ford ‘Alicia’ 59mm Sunglasses($253.90). I have been coveting Tom Ford Sunglasses for awhile now and I think I’ve finally found the perfect pair for me in these shades!

*UGG® ‘Cobie II’ Block Heel Bootie($129.90). I have an older pair of black booties that have seen better days. UGG shoes are always comfortable for me and wearing a thick heel makes me feel sturdy and tall… I need all the help I can get with tall!

*American Atelier ‘Daphne’ Stemless Champagne Flutes($23.90). I don’t often drink champagne but I feel like I could put my wine in there.

*Levtex ‘The Snuggle Is Real’ Pillow($25.90). The Snuggle is REAL. Yes, honey, it is.

*Oliver Gal ‘Excuse My Swag’ Framed Canvas Print($171.90). Excuse my swag. Something to make you smile. I’d hang it in the bathroom I think 😉

*Oliver Gal ‘Walk Like You Have…’ Wall Art($118.90). … and some more Oliver Gal art but this time for the bedroom. Walk Like You Have Three Men Walking Behind You.

*PARADIGM TRENDS ‘Lonestar’ Medium Organizer($52.90). Perfect for keeping makeup or toiletry items in their place!

*PONCHO & GOLDSTEIN ‘In This House’ Sign($31.90). This is basically my house but for real. “We do” all the things. Especially loud.

*Sonoma Lavender Silver Rosette Blankie ($48.00). Look how soft and beautiful this is! A removable insert is filled with flaxseed and lavender flowers. It can also be warmed or chilled.

Burberry Pale Barley Eye Colour – Wet & Dry Silk Eyeshadow Swatches + Review

Affiliate Links

Once in awhile a single eye shadow comes along that changes the beauty game entirely. That one shade that can be worn at any time of the day. For any occasion. Worn alone or with a buddy… it’s beautiful and stands out from the crowd without even trying. That shade is Burberry Pale Barley Eye Colour ($29.00 // Nordstrom).

The packaging is adorned with the Nova Check pattern that every one knows is Burberry. The silver compact comes in a black slipcover and opens to reveal a full mirror on the top and a generously sized eye shadow on the bottom. There is a small sponged tipped applicator, which I’m never a fan of.. but I will say this particular eye shadow is so luxe and so easy to be worn alone that you can smooth the shade on with that applicator in a pinch.

Burberry Pale Barley is a beautiful light golden taupe. You’re probably so used to hearing people describe everything as silvered taupe.. but this has a beautiful golden shift within the core shade. It’s very refined and flattering, yet still stands out. The formula is incredibly smooth, pigmented and easy to blend. It seamlessly works into any other shade or alone on the eye.

Below the swatch of Burberry Pale Barley is done dry and without primers.

How would you wear Burberry Pale Barley?

Burberry Pale Barley Eye Colour – Wet & Dry Silk Eyeshadow retails for $29.00 and is available at Nordstrom and burberry.com.

Burberry No.15 SAGE GREEN Complete Eye Palette Swatches, Review & EOTD

Affiliate Links

I haven’t purchased a Burberry Complete Eye Palette in over a year! Insanity, because I loved Dark Spice so much and I totally had more on my wishlist. I guess none really and truly hooked me until now, when Burberry Beauty launched their Spring 2014 line and Sage Green entered into my life.

What Nordstrom says about the Burberry Complete Eye Palette:

Designed for effortless application, each Burberry Beauty Complete Eye Palette contains an illuminating base, two blendable shades to add structure and a liner to define and enrich.

The lightweight, natural formula allows you to create a customizable smoky finish, while the spectrum of textures blended with silicones provide smooth glide and easy application. Micronized pigments impart long-lasting, vibrant color in a color-true finish.

Comes in a convenient velvet pouch with three applicators to help you create a multitude of looks.

I love how the black velvet pouch that holds the eye palette features the classic Burberry pattern and folds over to keep the contents clean and protected.

As you open the pouch you’re greeted with a small peek of the silver palette inside (which also carries the classic Burberry pattern embossed on it) and three small applicators are tucked into a pocket. As with almost all palettes I’m not super crazy about the applicators for use, but in a pinch they’ll work and I do like the presentation of them.

The back of the palette is more silver toned than what this picture shows. As you’ll notice it just states the name and some stats.

Inside the palette is a full mirror and four shades of shadow arranged diagonally and, again, embossed with the classic Burberry check pattern.

Sage Green is a quartet of shades that include a shimmering ivory, a shimmering taupe, a satin sage green and a shimmering kelly green. Can a green palette be neutral? If so this is right on the mark.

The shades aren’t incredibly intense but do provide enough color for an understated but fun look. While applying I found that using a firm brush and patting the color on provided more color and a better finish than just sweeping the shades on. They look more shimmery in the swatches than they do on the eye, which I think most Burberry fans will like.

The formula and quality are top notch as these shades are soft and smooth as well as very easy to apply and blend. I was pleased to see that these shades stayed true to color and lasted all day on the eye.

For the EOTD look below I began with a thin layer of UDPP (mostly because now I use the Anti-Aging one) and then applied MAC Utterly Becoming Pro Longwear Paint Pot to the lids and through the crease. Using Sage Green I put the ivory shade at the inner corners of the eye and also under the brow for highlighting. The sage green shade is all over the lid and the taupe shade is blended just above the crease. I placed the kelly green shade at the outer corners of the eye and lightly under the lower lash line. Taking a fresh and soft eyeshadow brush I blended the edges of the taupe shade up and to the ivory shade to make the look more seamless. The eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Hustle and the mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara (to be reviewed).

How would you wear Burberry Sage Green Complete Eye Palette? Perfect for an understated St. Patty’s Day look!!

The Burberry Complete Eye Palette retails for $59.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry CAMEO Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick Swatches & Review

*affiliate link-see below for info

Burberry lipsticks have become quite the obsession for me. They’re so soft and lovely, I just can’t seem to get enough of them. On my travels around the interwebs as I read my favorite beauty blogs… the shade Cameo Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick came up quite a bit. The more I saw it, the more in love I became with it. Of course, it had to be mine #TeamEnable.

What the Nordstrom website says about Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick:

Discover supple and light colors that reflect the natural lip tones. Formulas are hydrating and give a full lip in tone, coverage and color fidelity.

Formula: Super-light ‘second skin’ texture provides intense moisture immediately after application. Combination of oils and light waxes helps easy application and extreme comfort.

Benefits: Pigments dispersed in a clear gelled structure ensure high color fidelity. Shiny polymers offer perfect luminosity. Balanced color palette from nude trench tones to Burberry reds.

Protection: Contains anti-aging ceramides for fuller lips. Guarantees continuous hydration. Contains UV filters to protect from damaging environmental exposure.

How to use: Apply like a normal lipstick or apply to your finger and push into the lip to give a more natural color. To enlarge the mouth, use a lighter lipstick in the middle of the mouth. To reduce the mouth, choose a darker shade.

Cameo is that perfectly glowy peachy pink shade that you can wear every single day. It has a slight shine to it, but still remains creamy.. making lips appear full and luscious. As a lighter shade, the wear is just that of a normal lipstick (a few hours), but is easy to reapply. It feels luxurious when applying and will provide any look with the perfect finishing touch!

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick retails for $30.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry DARK SPICE Complete Eye Palette Swatches, Review and EOTD

It’s safe to say that I’ve been more than a little obsessed with Burberry lately. Don’t ask questions, just go with it.

In late 2012 Burberry Beauty released seven quads and called them the Complete Eye Palette. It was hard for me to choose, but in the end I settled on one I knew I’d love – No. 05 Dark Spice.

This Complete Eye Palette comes with four shadows (a gold, chocolate, bronze and black) in a soft velvet pouch and three small applicators.

What the Nordstrom website has to say about the Burberry Complete Eye Palette:

Designed for effortless application, each Burberry Beauty Complete Eye Palette contains an illuminating base, two blendable shades to add structure and a liner to define and enrich.

The lightweight, natural formula allows you to create a customizable smoky finish, while the spectrum of textures blended with silicones provide smooth glide and easy application. Micronized pigments impart long-lasting, vibrant color in a color-true finish.

Comes in a convenient velvet pouch with three applicators to help you create a multitude of looks.

In Dark Spice the pigment is intense on all of the shades. This is my first experience with Burberry eye shadow and I really found that the quality was fabulous. The shadows blended well and made for a seriously smoky chocolate eye. Think Jennifer Love Hewitt in the Ghost Whisperer type of eye. Hot.

Dark Spice leans incredibly warm, so keep that in mind before ordering.

For the EOTD I went a bit more dramatic and started off with the bronze shade all over the lid, the chocolate shade in the crease and the black in the outer V. I used the golden shade above the chocolate to blend out the crease, but I felt like it made the look a bit sallow. The liner is MAC Orpheus Kohl Power and the mascara is Chanel Le Volume.

I think for more normal wear I would put the golden shade on the lid and then work the bronze, chocolate and black in with it that way. Maybe with the black as a liner!

Have you tried any of these out yet? Which did you purchase or which one are you lemming? No. 06 Plum Pink is definitely next on my list!

The Burberry Complete Eye Palette retails for $59.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry Haymarket Check Folding Wristlet Photos & Review

My inaugural Burberry handbag purchase! I’ve been eying Burberry for a long time… mostly the huge bags that would make DH laugh if I was all “I want to buy that”. Plus, I have a lot of huge bags. I’ve been surfing around looking for something that was portable, easy and would carry just enough. In November, when my birthday arrived, I found it. The Burberry Haymarket Check Folding Wristlet.

This wristlet is awesome because it can also be used as a clutch and it folds over. When it’s opened there are two separate compartments to keep all of your essentials organized. The ONLY thing I’d change about this is that I feel like it needs a longer strap for cross-body wear. Even though it’s got the wrist strap, sometimes it’s nice to be *totally* hands-free!

Of course, it’s no longer on the website at Neiman Marcus, but if you’re wanting to purchase you can do so on the Burberry website.

Burberry MILITARY RED Lip Velvet Long-Wear Lipstick Swatches & Review

I blame Messy.  I need another red lipstick like most people need an extra hole in the head, but when I saw Burberry Military Red No. 310 Lip Velvet Long-Wear Lipstick on Xiao over at Messy Wands it took me all of about 3 seconds to go to Nordstrom.com and order it.

What Nordstrom has to say about Burberry Lip Velvet Long-Wear Lipstick:

Explore velvet intensity with Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick.

Burberry innovation brings a new finish for lips: a velvety matte radiance, inspired by the most opulent of English fabrics. Iconic pigments provide incredibly dense and luminous color, gel technology gives comfortable long-wear performance, while triglycerides and wild rose continuously hydrate. The result is effortlessly elegant, protective and breathable.

Tips: Apply Lip Velvet with fingertips for a natural stain of color or use with a Lip Definer Pencil for a more polished elegance.

Military Red is a true and saturated red (swatch photos taken outside in natural lighting). It’s not quite matte… but not quite satin either. It’s the most peculiar formula, but totally wearable. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s moisturizing, but it won’t dry out your lips.

This wears well for about 5-6 hours and will leave a slight staining on the lips. I’m really impressed and am definitely going to go for a wine shade for the cold weather months.

Burberry Lip Velvet Long-Wear Lipstick retails for $30.00 and is available at Nordstrom.

Burberry NUDE ROSE Lipstick Swatches and Review

I have been DYING to try out Burberry’s makeup line since it came out. With it not being available locally for me to see in person, that’s been extremely difficult. There are SO many great products with well known names behind them, that it’s hard to bite the bullet and buy from a new beauty brand that isn’t available with testers at your local counter. Hopefully, in the future, Burberry Beauty can take off and be available at my local Nordstrom too 😉

My first ever product from Burberry Beauty is the Nude Rose (no. 25) Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick.

Nude Rose as a shade is pretty true to it’s name. It’s a beige pinky rose shade that glides on with ease. This lipstick is uber creamy and wears very, very well. I’ve heard a few negative comments about the scent, but I don’t really smell anything. There is a slight hint of a scent, but it’s barely noticeable. I actually forgot about it having a scent until a friend asked me what I thought about it. Unless you’re extremely sensitive to smells, you should be ok in that department.

The packaging is nice, though I did expect it to be a bit heavier, like Guerlain. I love the pattern on the casing as well as on the lipstick bullet. The case closes magnetically, so you have to make sure you have it on there just right for it to shut. I wasn’t a fan of that at first, but now I kind of like it.

I definitely look forward to purchasing more from the Burberry Beauty line, after I stalk some online swatches, of course 😉

Burberry Lip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick retails for $30.00 and you can pick this up at Nordstrom.com.

I received this lipstick as an early birthday present from one of my international girls that I CP for. I just thought that should be disclosed since I didn’t purchase this myself 😉 Thank you, Julia!!
