For October 2015 Boxycharm is getting into the spirit of October a bit with Faces of the Moon. This month Boxycharm wants their “Charmers” to let their “light illuminate the darkness”.

What is Boxycharm? Each month subscribers get a mix of full-size and luxury-size beauty products from the most popular and chic brands as chosen by a team of experts. For $21.00 a month (shipping is FREE) you’ll get 4 to 5 Full-Size & Luxury-Size beauty items delivered to your door. You can unsubscribe at any time. To save a bit of money you can pay $231 to sign up for the entire year (this option is non-refundable). Earn Charms by referring friends and reviewing products. Loyal subscribers will automatically receive 450 loyalty charms every 3 months. Charms are redeemable for additional Full-Size & Luxury-Size beauty items of your choice.

This month I got…

From Palmetto Derma, Rejuvenating Antioxidant Mask. When I first saw this I was intrigued and interested to try… until I saw some complaints on the Boxycharm Facebook Page. There weren’t a ton, in fact more people raved about it. But I’ve had seriously bad reactions to Glamglow masks. Painful ones. TBH I’m just too worried about another painful reaction to test this. I know that someone else will enjoy it though… there are some seriously glowy girls posting pics on FB! This product is full size and the retail price is $64.00.

From Vincent Longo, Original Trio Eyeshadow. The trio I received is in Harem which is a cream, a pink and a chocolatey khaki. Very pretty and smooth. The shades are perfect for a smoky eye. This product is full size and the retail price is $30.00.

From Bellapierre, Cheek and Lip Stain. The shade I got is Coral. We see this brand a lot in beauty boxes… I actually got this exact same product in two other (each different) boxes within the past year but in Pink! I’m a fan of the product because it’s subtle and looks fabulous on. This product is full size and the retail price is $19.99.

From Lord & Berry, Line/Shade Eyeliner. The shade I got is Dark Black. I’m a fan of this brands lip liners and the eye liner feels just as soft and definitely looks pigmented. I had no problems with migration when I wore this so it’s a keeper! This product is full size and the retail price is $18.00.

From Cult Cosmetics, Nail Polish. I got the shade Boneyards which is a dark grey cream. It painted on nicely and was opaque in two coats. This product is full size and the retail price is $12.00.

This was a decent month for Boxycharm. Upon reading the description I thought it’d be more illuminating products or maybe something more Halloween-like but all-in-all I’m happy with what was sent. The value of the box is over the $21.00 retail at $143.99 and all 5 items are full sized. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in November!

September 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

For September 2015 Boxycharm aptly named their box Runway Ready. After all, this is the month of Fashion Week! Boxycharm has gathered a collection of items to get you ready for the runway no matter what the locale.

From Previse Skincare, Hydromilk Hydrating Lotion. This lotion is for nourishing and hydrating the skin using natural ingredients to improve hydration and fight free radicals. It sounds lovely but I’ve broken out slightly recently (due to a medicine, I believe) so this is going to get gifted away. Gotta stick to the big guns for skincare right now. This product is full size and the retail price is $48.00.

From Vasanti Professioinal, Foundation Brush. The brush hairs are soft but the paddle is firm enough to work foundation into the skin smoothly and evenly. I personally like to use a flat buffing brush or beautyblender for foundation, but I’ve heard these brushes are good for applying masks so I’ll use it for that. This product is full size and the retail price is $32.00.

From Chella, Eyebrow Defining Gel. Chella has been wonderful for me in terms of brow products, and I’ve gotten them all from beauty boxes! This gel is clear and doesn’t good up, holding brow hairs perfectly. This product is full size and the retail price is $18.00.

From SCRATCH, Nail Wraps. The pattern I got is “Lacework” and I’ve actually had them before. I’m a huge fan of SCRATCH and the Lacework was one of my favorite patterns to date. I definitely don’t mind another one. (see them here). This product is full size and the retail price is $12.00.

From tarte, smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner. The shade I got is Gold and it’s just beautiful! The liner glides on easily and wears nicely. I like these thicker pencils for smoking out and accentuating the lower lash line area. This product is full size and the retail price is $22.00.

From Kardashian Beauty, Black Seed Dry Oil. This oil is meant to nourish hair, make it shiny and healthy… basically make it look all Kardashian-like. My hair is super oily as it is, but my ends tend to need some help and this is a great size for keeping in my carry-on bag. This product is travel size and is a bonus item.

This was another fantastic month. Tarte is one of my favorite beauty brands and the Gold liner is gorgeous. I love SCRATCH and even though I have those particular wraps they’re my favorites, so I’ll absolutely use them. I’m loving that every month this box has items that I’ll actually use and that are full size. The value of the box was over the $21.00 retail at $132.00 and all 5 core items were full sized. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in October!

August 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

August means back-to-school but Boxycharm is making sure you get one last mini-vaycay in with this months box, themed Gorgeous Globetrotter.

From MicaBeauty, Gel Eyeliner. Formula wise this liner is smooth and easy to apply. Black is a good color to go with a variety of looks so it’s a perfect addition to the rest of the box. This product is full size and the retail price is $35.00.

From So Susan, Statement Skin. I’m such a fan of products from So Susan. This is a cream highlighter in a travel-friendly and easy-to-use crayon form. It’s smooth to apply and blends easily. This product is full size and the retail price is $20.00.

From Seta, Eyeliner Brush. A perfect brush to match up the liner! The brush end is a little long for what I like to use (I prefer something shorter and firmer for more control) but if you’re in need of a brush for your new liner, it’ll do! This product is full size and the retail price is $16.00.

From Nios Shield, Leave-In Conditioner. I was just saying I needed a good leave-in conditioner and this one seems to have great reviews. It contains Moroccan Argan Oil so it’s not a product I can put all over my head, but will be nice for my ends which are what need the extra conditioning. This product is full size and the retail price is $26.00.

From Coastal Scents, Revealed 3 Palette. This. This is what made my month. I’ve been dying to try out any one of these Coastal Scents Revealed Palettes and actually bounced around with joy because it was included this month. The product line isn’t expensive, but it’s online ordering so I just never got around to it. The shades are fantastic and are so smooth (below they’re swatched dry, with no primer). So impressed and I definitely need the other 2 now! This product is full size and the retail price is $39.95 (but it always seems to be on sale for $19.95).

In the eye look below I used MAC Utterly Becoming Pro Longwear Paint Pot for a base. All of the shades used are from the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 Palette but I did the look a week ago so I forget =\ I’m pretty sure I used (from the top row) 4th & 5th shades and then also the first shade on the top row to highlight the brow bone. The top liner is the Clinique Pretty Easy Liquid Eyelining Pen in Brown, the bottom liner is Clinique Skinny Stick in Thin Mint and the mascara is Clinique Chubby Lash Fattening Mascara in Two Ton Teal (all will be reviewed this week, all are awesome). I used Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara for the bottom lashes.

This month has hands down been my favorite one yet because I will use every single item and they’re all items I’d have picked to try out for myself, with the CS Revealed 3 being the biggest win of them all. The value of the box was over the $21.00 retail at $136.95 and all 5 items were full sized. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in September!

July 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

Who needs Summertime Sadness when you have Summertime Radness? The July 2015 Boxycharm theme promises to bring the heat while you keep it cool.

From MDMflow, Greater Than Mascara. This mascara was okay. It did well for a daily, day-time only mascara look but I didn’t feel it was anything to write home about. This product is full size and the retail price is $35.00.

From gorge, I’ll make you look amazing daily spray. During the days when it’s extra humid and my ends need help staving off frizz I spritz a bit of this on. It’s great for mid-day or before evening when my hair needs that extra anti-frizz “you better behave” kick in the pants. Stuck to the side is a code for $20 off the website (BC20). This product is full size and the retail price is $29.95.

From OFRA Cosmetics, Universal Eyebrow Pencil. I’ve loved every single OFRA product I’ve ever tried… except this one. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t for me. I found the formula to be too waxy and I need more coverage in my sparse brows. One product I picked up last year at The Makeup Show is phenomenal in my brows and does not budge – check out the Eyebrow Gel in Khaki if you’re interested in something like that! This product is full size and the retail price is $13.00.

From Vasanti, Professional Blush Brush. I love how soft this is and since it’s a smaller size it worked perfectly for applying the Setting Powder that was included in this box on every area of my face. This product is full size and the retail price is $29.00.

From yourMinerals, Transparent Veil Setting Powder. A loose setting powder is where it’s at when you want a matte finish so I’ll take all I can get. This felt soft and did the job well during this awful humidity. This product is a medium full size and the retail price is $26.00.

At first I wasn’t very excited about this month, but there were definitely products I’ll use up and that worked well for me. The value of the box was over the $21.00 retail at $132.95 and almost all 5 items were full sized. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in August!

June 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

Sea la Vie, my friends!!Boxycharmwants you to be free this month for adventure! (Make sure you read the card below, I love all of the play-on-words that they do!).

Loyal subscribers will automatically receive 450 loyalty charms every 3 months. Charms are redeemable for additional Full-Size & Luxury-Size beauty items of your choice.

This month I got…

From Eslor, Chlorophyll Lifting Mask. I love the gel consistency of this mask! It feels and smells spa-like and makes my skin look and feel incredible. Full size.

From The Beauty Crop, Lightning Crew Highlighting Cream. It’s listed as full size but if you order it don’t be shocked to see how small the tube is. You need VERY LITTLE so you’ll still feel like you’re getting your money’s worth.

From ncLA, Nail Lacquer. ncLA polishes are some of my faves and this is a beautiful neutral color (I got the shade Volume IV). Send me one of these every month and I’m a happy girl! Full size.

From Bellapierre Cosmetics, Kabuki Brush. This brush is nice and soft and I like that it’s on the smaller side for bronzing. Full size.

From Doucce, Click Click Lipstick. I got the shade 819 which is an almond colored nude which totally gives me dead lips. There is another shade going around that is pinkish but even still I wouldn’t be a fan of the lipstick. It feels dry making it hard to apply (though it feels comfortable on the lips) but the worst part is the plastic, wax smell. The bullet is also loose and beginning to bend off.

This month wasn’t as thrilling as last month, but there were definitely products I’ll use up and the value of the box was over the retail. All five items are listed as full size with a retail of $123.99 and the cost of the box is only $21.00! While the lipstick washed me out and I wasn’t a fan of the smell the other products alone retail at almost 4x of what the cost of this box is out of pocket. Still a win! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in July!

Also in this months box was a Boxycharm exclusive sale code for $20 any $50+ order at malibeads.com. The code is BOXYCHARM if you want to scoop that up!

May 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

A subscription box with five full size products? MAKEUP products? Useable makeup products?! It does exist and it’s arrived in the form of the May 2015 Boxycharm shipment.

From ModelCo, Bronze Shimmer. This is an incredibly soft and very pigmented bronzer. It feels and looks amazing and since I’m on the pale side I need very little to get a natural bronzed look. There is a shimmer in this product but it’s more apparent in the compact and not so noticable on the face, which is a big plus for me. Full size.

From Lauren B. Beauty, Nail Polish. I got the shade #ImJuicing which is a lime green cream. I’m indifferent on the shade, and it’s likely not one I’d buy for myself, but it’s on point for Summer. It took a full three coats for full and mostly even opacity. The bottle is generously sized and the formula painted on easily. There was another shade floating around that matched the lipstick in my box, but then you got a purple lipstick which I never would have worn. I’d rather have the wearable lipstick and use this lime polish for some nail art. Full size.

From The Lip Bar, Lipstick. Can I just tell you how obsessed I am with this packaging? It’s got that wrought iron window pane, edgy, stained glass look to it (without the stain in the glass, but you know what I mean). The shade I got in this box is in Kiss Me and it’s a beautiful and pigmented hot coral shade. In a different sub box I received the shade Crimson Wonderland so I have the start of an awesome collection going on over here! Full size.

From Bodyography, Essential Brow Trio. While I tend to stay away from powder products for my brows (my brows are more than half gone so I tend to use a waterproof/water resistant pencil or gel) the quality in the formula was nice and I did find it easy to apply. This could also be used for eye shadows as a deep, neutral trio. Full size.

From Bodyography, Brow Brush. It was wonderful to see a brush in this box that coordinates with another included product. The brush end is firm enough for a good line but soft enough to fill in the brows with product naturally. Full size.

(L-R: Bodyography Essential Brow Trio, ModelCo Bronze Shimmer, The Lip Bar Kiss Me Lipstick)

This box was such a hit for me! ALL FIVE ITEMS ARE FULL SIZED for only $21.00 and the retail on what was sent is $98.00! While I probably won’t get a ton of use out of the brow trio or nail polish they can easily be gifted and the other products alone retail at almost triple of what the cost of this box is out of pocket. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Boxycharm in June!

Also this month you can share a pic of your May Boxycharm and share on social media tagging @Boxycharm #Boxycharm #BoxyBeauty for a chance to win an exclusive Boxycharm worth $250!

February 2015 Boxycharm Photos, Swatches & Review

Remember how I said I wanted to try out new beauty subscription services? I have a realllyyyy good one to share with you guys! You’ve probably heard of it and that’s okay, but bear with me because you remember how excited you were when you got your first one right? RIGHT?! Okay, so this is all aboutBoxycharm which I’ve been seeing on so many blogs and YouTube channels lately. I finally broke down and placed my order for the February Box which is themed for Valentine’s Day.

From Modern Minerals, Duo Fiber Mini Round Brush. This brush is superrrr soft and perfect for detail work on the eyes. Makeup brushes of good quality are always a win! Full size.

From Mullein & Sparrow, Mini Facial Mask. The packaging on this is adorable. Very message in a bottle but with a face mask which is even better. This is said to be detoxifying and also gently exfoliates. I haven’t gotten a chance to use it but I seriously might just use it for bathroom decor. It’s sleek and begging to be displayed! Deluxe Size.

From ncLA, Nail Lacquer in Heart Attack. I’m obsessed with glitter in shapes other than the usual round, hex and square. While this was a major PITA to work with because they hearts just wanted to float around all willy nilly you can always scoop some out on a paper towel and use a dotting tool or Q-tip to place. It’s a bit extra work but in the end so fun it’s worth it. Plus, how often will you really wear heart glitter? Every day I wouldn’t want to deal, but once or twice a year it’s okay. Full size.

(ncLA Heart Attack shown over Pixi Amethyst Amore)

From Jing Ai, Velvet Shine Lip Jewel. The shade I got is Pink a Boo and it’s a barbie pink satin. Slight gloss, but enough matte to it that you should probably exfoliate your lips before you wear it. This is a fantastic shade for Spring! Full size.

From Mistura Beauty Solutions, C-2-P Complexion Corrector. The shade I got is a little dark for me (though it says all skin tones I just do NOT see how that is possible), which is disappointing because it’s a full size item from this box that I definitely won’t use. It feels creamy and appears to cover well though because it was so dark it left an orange cast to my skin. Too bad it’s not my shade =( Full size.

My first box was kinda wonderful, I must say! It’s not the best one I’ve seen people get but it’s certainly loaded up with products I am loving (minus the orange corrector). With the retail value of the products being at $105.00 for 4 full-size and 1 deluxe-size I’d call this one a win and am definitely keeping my subscription going into March.

Have you signed up for Boxycharm yet? If you haven’t and are interested in doing so click here and fill out your info ASAP so you can get next month’s box!

***Disclosure. I pay for my own Boxycharm subscription but this post does contain referral links which give me Charms (aka points) when you sign up. Points can be used towards product on the Boxycharm website.
