Ever since the original Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette released it's been my most reached for/most used palette. Everything about it makes life simple when you need a quick eye-look... particularly when you want it to be "mature" and understated. For example, when I'm running out the door to go to the kids school to help out, or just need to go to the store but don't want to be all crazy done-up... this is what I use. So when the Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette came out a year later it was a no brainer to buy that one as well. The shades in that one are a little warmer and a little deeper. I use it, but not like the original.

This year, for Holiday 2016, the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette($55.00 // Sephora) has launched. Some of my friends got to go to the event and as I was watching their Snapchat stories I was dying. TWELVE all new MATTE shades (well.... one is a demi-matte) with a much broader range than the two previous Naked Basics palettes - a palette loaded with perfect shades for both warm and cool tones. All of this is packaged in a square gold case with a sunburst design on the front that gives a 3D effect.

Inside the palette you'll get a full-size mirror and a double-ended brush for smudging and blending. Each eye shadow shade features the Urban Decay Pigment Infusion System which is the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade the velvety texture, major pigment, staying power and blendability that we all know and love.

In the look below I decided to get a little more smoky than normal and used the entire top row of this palette. Because, gorgeous. (FACE) I started off using Benefit The POREfessional Matte Rescue all over my face and then on top I put the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Mattifying Primer in my oily t-zone area. For my foundation I’ve been loving the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation in shade 238. I put the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless Powder in 310 on top for more coverage. To set this I used the Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder by baking my under eye and t-zone areas. For bronzer I used Urban Decay Bronzed Beached Bronzer, blush is Urban Decay Fetish Afterglow Blush. To highlight the cheeks I used Urban Decay Twilight Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder (from the Holiday 2016 trio). (EYES) I used Urban Decay Anti-Aging Primer Potion as a base and used Commando as a transition shade. Tempted is all over the lid with Instinct through the crease. I used Nudie to blend out the crease and Blow at the inner corners and to highlight. For eyeliner I used Urban Decay Stag 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil (a dark brown shade) and smudged Lethal over top, pushing it upwards. I also smudged a bit of Lethal and Blow under the lower lash line. For mascara I used Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara on my lower lashes and Max Factor Masterpiece MAX Mascara on the top lashes. (LIPS) I lined my lips and filled them in with Urban Decay Naked 24/7 Glide-On Lip Pencil and smudged Urban Decay Roach Lipstick over-top.
