If you're a fan of Pixi Beauty then you're definitely aware of the Mesmerizing Mineral Palettes. Filled with six eye shadows and a double-ended sponge tipped applicator these are said to provide a "fast and fuss-free application". Two new palettes were introduced this season in Silver Sky (a silvery, cooler toned palette) and today's post of Rich Gold (a gilded, warm toned palette).
Rich Gold($12.00) contains six eye shadows in (from L-R below) a black with gold sparkle, a dark chocolate with gold sparkle, a milk chocolate with gold sparkle, a gold with gold sparkle, a taupe-tan with gold sparkle and an ivory with gold sparkle. Do you see the theme? Rich Gold = lots of golden sparkle! Lots of golden sparkle makes Brooke a happy girl! The quality of this palette was excellent across the board. I didn't find any of the shades to be lacking in the pigment area (below they're swatched dry with no primer) and they were all really easy to work with during application and blending. My eye look (shown below) lasted all day long over-top of an eyeshadow primer.
Over-top of Urban Decay Pimer Potion I'm wearing the milk chocolate with gold all over the lid. The dark chocolate with gold is at the crease and the black with gold is at the outer V blended in toward the center of the eye and also blended through the crease. I used the taupe with gold to blend out the crease and the ivory gold at the inner corners and to highlight. Even though you really can't tell the gold with gold is smudged lightly under the outer third of the lower lash line. The liner is MAC Teddy Eye Kohl and the mascara is Milani Total Lash Cover.
Overall I think this is a fabulous (and rather inexpensive) eye shadow palette for every day use since it performed so well and can be transitioned easily from day-to-night.
