The search for the most mattifying foundation of them all is endless. Who would have thought the road would be so long? Maybe I should have known, since my skin is so incredibly oily in my t-zone. Recently I got the chance to try out the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil Free($55.00 // Sephora). Could this be it? Could this be the end of the road?
Hourglass Immaculate is available in 16 shades and is touted as the "breakthrough liquid to powder formula that absorbs oil, camouflages imperfections and delivers a long-lasting velvet matte finish without the need for touch-ups".
How to wear it. Unless you need very little coverage the beautyblender is not your friend for this one. I require at the very least a medium coverage foundation so I've found with Immaculate it's best to apply it by pressing product into my face with my fingers and blending lightly. Then I use my flat kabuki brush to buff it all in and blend. The end result is flawless and it covers all the things I need it to.
As for the mattifying/oil-free claims I will say that while it doesn't keep my oil/shine free all day long it does last longer than other foundations in my stash. I was impressed that after I blotted the oily areas with blotting papers I didn't need to apply any kind of powder to hide shine. Blot and go.
What is your favorite foundation? I listed my Top 10 Foundations on this post and after fully testing this product I can definitively say I would add Hourglass Immaculate into that list.
