*I’m sharing #SwissHerbs in my life as part of a #Ricola sponsored series for Socialstars™.
From the time I was really little up through college I'd get sick every.single.holiday. It didn't matter if it were something simple like allergies or something a bit more major like the flu... it happened. You could time holidays by my illnesses.
Now that I'm older and in charge of myself, for the most part *wink*, I'm doing some things to make sure I DON'T get sick around the holidays. Basically because if I get sick stuff for the kids won't get done and/or I'm pushing myself to get it done and just ending up more miserable.
I'm washing my hands. A LOT. I'm an obsessive hand washer. A trait handed down by Grandma Betty. But, when the holidays approach, I'm even more intense.
I'm cleaning. And by that I mean I'm cleaning things I never think to clean other than around the holidays. Doorknobs, handles, the steering wheel of the car. Basically if I touch it and think "omg I don't usually get that when I clean omg germs" then I clean it asap.
I'm touching no one. Which is dramatic. I'll hug quickly, shake a hand if I have to... but I'm not initiating anything myself and I really don't care who hates me for it. In this case pocketbac is basically immediate.
I'm wiping down. Cleansing publicly touched things like shopping carts, door handles etc. Sometimes I'll hide my hand in the sleeve of my jacket to open up a door or use a tissue if I have to. I carry antibac wipes around for shopping carts. Some places have them at the entrance by IME they're usually empty or impossible to pull out.
I'm upping my immunities. Ricola Dual Action Cough Drops blend ten natural Swiss alpine herbs, natural menthol and soothing syrup that work to keep you healthy. Even if you are feeling a bit dumpy these help sooth your throat and keep you moving so you can get your holiday duties handled. They're available in two flavors - Swiss Cherry and Honey Lemon.
It may seem like overkill, and I don't do these things all year 'round... but during holidays (aka the most germiest times of the year) it's a must.
