Urban Decay CHAOS 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Swatches & Review

Urban Decay now has 40 shades in their line-up of 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils!  Yeah, you heard me!  Adding to the line are 13 brand new and never-before-seen colors and 14 shades that you may have seen before, but only in exclusive sets.

Of the shades, I picked up the one that caught my eye the most – Chaos.

IMG_3708What Sephora says about the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil:

What it is:
A dynamic eyeliner pencil in a rainbow of shades.

What it does:
Glide on color that stays put for the duration of your non-stop, on-the-go day! These cushiony, creamy eye pencils deliver powerful, vibrant color that slides on smooth and stays soft and creamy for blending (about 30 seconds), then dries to a long-lasting finish that won’t budge. Line eyes with a hint of color or go for the full artistic, multi-hued effect. Truly inspired, these pencils go all day and all night.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Created with 50 percent moisturizing ingredients suspended in a sophisticated waterproof formula, this brilliant collection of eye essentials offers long-lasting color and a dreamy, creamy feel when applied.

IMG_3696 IMG_3702 IMG_3706 IMG_5413Chaos (vibrant cobalt blue matte w/slight floating pearl) is like a neon periwinkle blue.  It’s one of the shades I’ve been obsessing over this season and for UD to make it in a 24/7 liner basically makes my Summer complete.  I thought it was more vibrant on the eye than on the arm swatch, and really made the neutral eye look stand out.

This liner comes in the standard Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil packaging and, like most of the others, is super soft, easy to apply and doesn’t stray.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil’s retail for $19.00 each and can be purchased at Sephora, Ulta and urbandecay.com.

PR_Group Shot_24-7 Eye Pencils(1)The Skinny:
Creamy, forever-lasting and waterproof, our 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils are already the stuff of beauty legend.  But what’s the one thing that would make them even better?  MORE SHADES.  Urban Decay announces the relaunch of our award-winning 24/7 liner-now one of the WIDEST eye pencil assortments ever.  Seriously, this is HUGE.  We added 13 BRAND NEW shades and 14 previously exclusive shades to our already covetable lineup-for a total of 40 habit-forming colors in all.  You’ve never seen such an insane range of shades.  Crazy-vivid brights.  Shimmering metallics.  Wear-anywhere neutrals.  Dark, smoky hues.  Take your pick of every texture imaginable, from micro-sparkle to matte.  If these pencils don’t satiate your color lust, NOTHING will.

Hype:
With this relauch, Urban Decay is the definitive authority on eye pencils, with the BIGGEST selection of shades out there!  From mattes and satins to shades with shimmer and sparkle, our huge range of fun colors includes something for everyone.  From crazy, “out-there” colors that would make your grandma cringe to shades you can rock all day long (even if you don’t work in an office where peacock blue eyeliner is perfectly acceptable), we’ve got something for everyone.

Nice Package:
Shade-matched barrels make it easy to find the exact shade you’re looking for (no matter how crammed your bag is).

Break it Down:
Made with jojoba oil, vitamin E and cottonseed oil, our highly saturated formula glides on, stays creamy for blending and dries down to a waterproof finish that won’t budge.  What more could you ask for?

Urban Decay The Glinda Palette Swatches, Review and FOTD – Disney’s OZ the Great and Powerful

Last month I posted about the Urban Decay The Theodora Palette from the Disney’s OZ the Great and Powerful launch, going on about how it was more “me” and more my first choice so I chose it over Glinda… but still with the intention of purchasing Glinda… blah blah.  Okay, so I think Glinda may just be more “me”.

IMG_6453What the Sephora website says about the Urban Decay Glinda Palette:

What it is:
One of two gorgeous limited-edition palettes inspired by the Disney movie “Oz the Great and Powerful.”

What it does:
Inspired by the Disney film’s theme of good witch vs. bad witch (and the good witch/bad witch dichotomy in all of us), Urban Decay created two collectible palettes loaded with beautiful, never-before-seen shades. Recreate Glinda’s ethereal, spellbinding look with eight all new and exclusive eye shadows in six pans (this set includes two duo-shades that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan). Every shade features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability.

This set contains:
- 6 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadow in Tornado (vibrant deep purple shimmer), Aura (iridescent white with blue shift and iridescent white with red shift), Magic (pinkish purple with golden shimmer), Illusion (pale peach satin), Oz (gold with gold glitter and silver with silver glitter), South (warm pale gray shimmer with silver micro-glitter)
- 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Rockstar (deep eggplant)
- 0.1 oz Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Glinda (light sheer nude)
- A card with step-by-step instructions on how to get Glinda’s look from the film

What else you need to know:
The Glinda Palette incorporates Urban Decay’s Build Your Own Palette format for total versatility. When you finish the original shades (or whenever you get the urge to experiment), just pop them out and pop your favorite UD shadows into the cool collectible tin. It features a dreamy, celestial design awash in a sheer backdrop of pink, gold, and peach, with Urban Decay and the name of the film in foil lettering.

IMG_6435 IMG_6437 IMG_6442 IMG_6448IMG_6465IMG_6461IMG_6471IMG_7801(L-R: Tornado, Aura (mixed), Magic, Illusion, Oz (separately), South, Rockstar liner, Glinda SSHGLC)

Glinda is the lovely to Theodora’s sultry.  The soft and wearable purples and metallic shades seem to glimmer and look magical.  The items in Glinda (with the exception of the liner) are exclusive to the set.

The packaging style is that awesome combination of Urban Decay and OZ, but this time the palette is refillable!  So, if you’re traveling, you can switch out shades!  Or, if you run out, you can replace with another color!

The shadows are soft and so ridiculously pigmented.  Blending is easy no matter what shades you’re using and I experienced no fall out with any of them.  Above I accidentally swatched Aura blended because they looked so similar that it slipped my mind it was a duo.  One side is more violent toned and the other side is more rose toned, but you’ll get the general idea ;)

The Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color is quickly becoming one of my favorite products.  It goes on as pigmented as a lipstick but with the high shine of a gloss.  It’s simple to line evenly and quick to color in.  This particular shade, Glinda, is a cool pinked rose that has already found a home in my HG bag.

For a coordinating liner, Urban Decay has also included a mini 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Rockstar.  This is the perfect shade for this palette and will work with all included shadows.

Also included in this palette is a card with a Michelle Williams as Glinda ‘Get the Look’.

IMG_6473 IMG_6476In addition to not being Mila Kunis I’m also not Michelle Williams, however I had to try the look that Urban Decay included with this set.  Other products used are Urban Decay Primer Potion, MAC Plushlash Mascara, Anastasia Brunette Beauty Express for Brows & Eyes, L’Oreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream, Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation, Chanel Blush Horizon de Chanel, Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder.

IMG_7862IMG_7852IMG_7871For more information on this collection, please see the Official Press Release.

The Urban Decay Glinda Palette retails for $49.00 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and urbandecay.com.  This palette is limited edition.

Urban Decay Introduces Seven NEW Eyeshadows!

Eyeshadow (Because you can never have too many.)
Seven NEW shades!

udThe Skinny
Urban Decay launches seven new Eyeshadow singles—including three never-before-seen shades and four previously exclusive shades. With the addition of these new colors (a perfect mix of not-boring neutrals, smoky hues and vibrant brights), we now have one of the widest assortments of shades on the market, making us THE definitive authority on shadows.

Hype
With the amazing color payout of our Eyeshadows, it’s no wonder our fans are so addicted to them (and constantly begging us for more). So we’re adding SEVEN new shades to our single shadow lineup. UD staffers are already clamoring to get ahold of Uncut, a smoky purple with a reddish shimmer and Snare, a smoky olive green shimmer. And we know hard-core addicts will be thrilled that they can finally get fan-favorite Sidecar (previously only available in Book of Shadows and the Naked Palette) as a single shadow.

Nice Package
Like all our Eyeshadows, each shade comes in our gunmetal compact with the cool pop-out feature. Pop these shadows OUT of their compacts and INTO one of our customizable Build Your Own Palettes to create the ultimate travel-friendly collection.

Break It Down
Each Eyeshadow features our Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power and blendability.

ud2These new shades of Eyeshadow (SRP $18) are available from Sephora inside JCP or online at urbandecay.com.

Makeup Wars: Beauty Blogger Travel

Beauty Blogger Packing

Oh, you over-pack shoes?  As a Beauty Blogger I over-pack makeup.  When it comes to being sensible for travel in terms of fashion, I have it down.  I actually lay out all of my outfits ahead of time so that I have only what I need.  Everything I want to take is removed from my closet and throughout the 48 hours before my trip I remove things that aren’t must-haves.  So, why can’t I do this with beauty?

I will tell you why.  Because all beauty is a must-have to me!  What if I NEED it?!  Of course, my HG’s come along always, but depending on what you are traveling to and what events are taking place, you may need some other special items.

For this Makeup Wars, we’re taking you into our travel beauty bags to show you what we like to bring with us when we go out of town, on vacation or on any sort of trip (business or pleasure!).

IMG_6314So, this is probably a little bit more than what I’d actually end up taking, but I didn’t really choose an event to base this off of.  I grabbed up my must haves.  My absolute I’m-not-leaving-my-life-behind-for-an-airplane-without-you.

For the face, I absolutely bring the Miracle Skin Transformer Skin and Treat & Conceal, as well as Make Up For Ever Pro Finish (because it’s like a powder and foundation in one), Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vierge Correcteur Concealer, Neutrogena Healthy Skin Brightening Eye Perfector and finally the Le Metier de Beaute Blush Kaleidoscope because it’s everything cheeky in one!

IMG_6339The eye makeup is where I can tend to go really overboard.  Luckily items like the Urban Decay Naked Palette (versions one and two) make for excellent travel companions!  Another palette that is a must have and can be worn for multiple types of events is the Le Metier de Beaute Penelope Kaleidoscope.  The liners you see below are the Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic Eye Pencil in Champagne (an excellent base for all shadows!), MAC Orpheus & Mystery Kohl Power, Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in 23L to wake up (I also like 24L when I’m going for a natural look) and for a more dramatic look I’ll use NARS Carpates on the top lid.  For mascara I would grab the Neutrogena Healthy Volume (because it’s currently the mascara I’m cheating on MAC Plushlash with), and to cap it off the MAC Clear Brow Set for eyes and Dior DiorShow Brow Styler.  Of course, we can’t forget the eye primer – I tend to reach for Urban Decay Primer Potion the most.

IMG_6342For lips, I like to use Le Metier de Beaute because the brand is known for how well the products layer and wear.  San Tropez Colour Core Moisture Stain Lipstick makes for the perfect base to layer on a shade to match any outfit.  Three glosses from the same line that I would take along with me are Two Lips Lip Creme, Mums the Word Lip Creme and Red Velvet Lip Creme.  For those times that you don’t want to worry about reapplication of ANY kind, Make Up For Ever #8 Aqua Rouge is a must have.  My lip liner of choice is always MAC Subculture, because it’s the closest to my lip pigment.  Urban Decay Ozone is also a great choice when you’re wearing deep colors that might bleed.

IMG_6350As for brushes, it’s easy to stay minimal because you can take brush cleanser in a travel bottle and wash them every night.  The brushes that I have to have with me are always the Sigma F80, and MAC Brushes 168, 239, 219, 272 and 226.

IMG_6322There you have it!  I stuck with just makeup for this post, but in terms of skin care I learned my lesson the hard way when I went to Disney World in April, so now I stick with my usual skin care from Murad as well as my frizz-free hair care from Living Proof.  My fragrance of choice is Chanel Chance and I tend to try and get sample vials of that, especially if I’m on an airplane.  I’ll also take whatever nail polish I’m wearing on my tips and toes as well as a top coat just in case.  To see some of these things, check out a previous Makeup Wars that we did based off of our HG’s!

What are your must have travel items, beauty or otherwise?

See what the other participants in this installment of Makeup Wars came up with!  I’m really excited to see what the other bloggers take with them when they travel!  What WILL we think of next?!

Urban Decay The Theodora Palette Swatches, Review and FOTD – Disney’s OZ the Great and Powerful

Freaking out is only one way to describe my hysterics when I saw the new Urban Decay OZ the Great and Powerful Palettes.

Of course I needed both of them, but so far I’ve only picked up Theodora.  The lemming was equal for both, but I  took a chance and guessed Theodora will sell out more quickly so it came first.

005What the Sephora website says about the Urban Decay Theodora Palette:

Recreate Theodora’s captivating, edgy look with eight all new and exclusive eye shadows in six pans (this set includes two duo-shades that are split in half, with a different color on each side of the pan). Every shade features Urban Decay’s Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives each shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability.

This set contains:
- 6 x 0.05 oz Eyeshadow in Broken (pale cream satin), Beware (warm brown matte), Bewitch (dark charcoal brown satin), West (deep metallic brown shimmer), Spell (black satin with green and gold shimmer and gold metallic with tonal glitter), Jealous (pale green pearl and dark green pearl)
- 0.03 oz 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in Zero (black)
- 0.1 oz Super-Saturated High Gloss Color in Theodora (bright red cream)
- A card with step-by-step instructions on how to get Theodora’s look from the film

What else you need to know:
The Theodora Palette incorporates Urban Decay’s Build Your Own Palette format for total versatility. When you finish the original shades (or whenever you get the urge to experiment), just pop them out and pop your favorite UD shadows into the cool collectible tin. It features a moody, colorful skyscape flanked by Rorschach-like patterns, with Urban Decay and the name of the film in foil lettering.

006 007 008 009 010 011 012 013(L-R: Broken, Beware, Bewitch, West, Spell (duo), Jealous (duo), Zero, Theodora)

Theodora is simply a fabulous palette.  The shades are wearable and sultry browns and taupes combined with a flash of the green that is going to be so popular this year.  The items in Theodora (with the exception of the liner) are exclusive to the set.

The packaging style is that awesome combination of Urban Decay and OZ, but this time the palette is refillable!  So, if you’re traveling, you can switch out shades!  Or, if you run out, you can replace with another color!

The shadows are soft and so ridiculously pigmented.  Blending is easy no matter what shades you’re using and I only experienced fall-out with Beware, but that is okay because for the ‘Theodora look’ you’re supposed to smudge under the eye.

This palette marks my first experience with the Super-Saturated High-Gloss Lip Color.  I LOVED this product.  It goes on as pigmented as a lipstick but with the high shine of a gloss.  It’s simple to line evenly and quick to color in.  This particular shade, Theodora, is a warm red that leaves a hint of stain behind as it fades.

For a coordinating liner, Urban Decay has also included a mini 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Zero.  I usually complain about getting this particular shade over and over again, but for this palette it works and I couldn’t imagine another one being better.

Also included in this palette is a card with a Mila Kunis as Theodora ‘Get the Look’.

014 051Mila Kunis I am not (darnit!) but I did re-create the look from the card above.  Other products used are Urban Decay Primer Potion, Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara, Dior DiorShow Brow Styler, Miracle Skin Transformer Face, Make Up For Ever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation and NARS 413 BLKR Multiple (to be reviewed).

The Urban Decay Theodora Palette retails for $49.00 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and urbandecay.com.  This palette is limited edition.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette Swatches, Review & EOTD

When Urban Decay launched another Naked Palette, this time Naked Basics, reaction seemed to be mixed.  Almost like a “why would you need it”.  I’m here to show you that you DO need it.  A lot.

006What the Sephora website has to say about the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette:

What it is:
A matte palette by Urban Decay, featuring six gorgeously Naked neutrals—including four never-before-seen shades.

What it does:
The long-awaited, multipurpose MATTE companion to Naked is the palette everyone needs in their beauty arsenal. With six versatile and extremely wearable Naked shades, it has everything you need for the perfect neutral matte eye—including four totally new and exclusive shades. It all comes in a sleek compact embossed with a pretty, metallic NAKED on the front that has a slight sheen and suede-like feel that begs to be touched. Best of all, the slim design is perfect for travel, so you’ll never have to be without these must-have shades.

This set contains:
- 6 x 0.05 oz eye shadows in Venus (soft, off-white demi-matte), Foxy (very light yellow/white matte), Walk of Shame (very light nude matte), Naked2 (taupe matte), Faint (warm, dusty brown matte) and Crave (deepest, darkest brown/black matte).

What else you need to know:
Each eye shadow features Urban Decay’s brand new Pigment Infusion System™, the proprietary blend of ingredients that gives every shade its velvety texture, rich color, serious staying power, and blendability.

002 003 004 005001 007The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette contains six shadows that are exclusive to this palette.  While looking at them you might not be impressed, the pigmentation and softness of the formula will really wow you.  This is quite literally the basic eye palette that you need for every day.  It’s perfect if you’re just starting out with makeup or are a veteran  that needs something quick to grab on a rushed morning.

All of the shades are matte, except Venus which is what they call a demi-matte.  It has a bit of shimmer and I found really makes the look POP when you blend out the crease with it.

For the EOTD below I started off with UDPP and applied Naked 2 all over the lid, Faint in the crease and above, Venus at the inner corner and to blend out the crease and Wos to highlight.  You could deepen this look by popping Crave in the outer V.  The eye liner is Urban Decay Bourbon 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil and the mascara is MAC Plushlash.

008For more information, please see the Official Press Release.

The Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (SRP $27) is available from Sephora, ULTA and select Macy’s stores as well as at beauty.com and urbandecay.com.
