Too Faced has launched two must-have palettes. Or rather, two MORE must-have palettes (because you know so many of them are on the must-have level). Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Shadow Palette & Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing Wardrobe are hot weather essentials to incorporate into your Summer beauty regime both for day and night.

Too Faced Ala Mode Eyes Bonjour Soleil boxesThe packaging for both of these palettes is in a parisian/nautical inspired tin that keeps the product safe during travel and is just 100% all-around adorable. Both also feature a good sized mirror and guides for getting the look.

To start off I’d like to focus on the photos, looks and review of the Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Eye Shadow Collection.

Too Faced A La Mode Eyes Get the LookThere are nine shades within three looks – Day, Classic and Fashion.

For Day the three shades are St. Tropez, Cannes and Soleil. St. Tropez is a pretty sheer gold with a lot of noticeable glitter, Cannes is a warm copper pearl and Soleil is a plummy brown pearl.

For Classic the three shades are Riviera, Jardin and Cote d’Azur. Riviera is a pearly beige (my personal fave highlighter shade of the bunch!), Jardin is a peachy gold pearl.. almost duochrome looking on the eye and Cote d’Azur is a chocolate brown with a hint of bronze.

For Fashion the three shades are La Croisette, Monaco and De La Mer. La Croisette is a very pigmented frosty white, Monaco is a cool, vibrant pink and De La Mer is a navy satin.

As with almost all Too Faced Eye Shadow shades the pigment and functionality of the shadows are impeccable. They applied well, blended easily and wore all day. The one shade I really wasn’t impressed with was St. Tropez. I thought on it’s own it was really just a glitter, but it does layer nicely over the other shades, giving you the opportunity to change them up a bit.

Too Faced A LA Mode Eyes Palette Swatches Review LooksToo Faced A La Mode Eyes Eye Shadow Palette SwatchesFor the eye looks below I veered away from using the Get the Look cards and did my own thing. Since the blonde has all but left my hair I’ve been into putting a dark shade all over the lid then a lighter coordinating shade in the crease. In all of the eye looks below the shades are tiered from darkest to lightest.

Also, at Sephora, there is a set called Pardon My French which includes this palette and some other goodies in an adorable bag for only $49.00. Is it weird I want a second palette so I can have this set?

Now for the Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing Wardrobe. This trio is fantastic because it’s three of Too Faced’s amazing bronzers in one place.

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing Wardrobe Photos macroIncluded are the Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer, Sun Bunny Natural Bronzer and Snow Bunny Luminous Bronzer. Sun Bunny has long been a favorite of mine since a friend introduced me to it back in my swapping days. You also get an incredibly soft Flatbuki brush.

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing WardrobeToo Faced Bonjour Soleil contents Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing Wardrobe back palette Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Summer Bronzing Wardrobe Cheek Palette reviewChocolate Soleil is a perfect contour shade for me but it’s very easy to over-do it with this one. Tread lightly, build up as needed. I usually still blend it a bit with my face powder because I can get way too excited when I apply. Sun Bunny has been reviewed by me several times throughout the life of this blog. It’s basically what would be created if Chocolate Soleil and Snow Bunny had a baby. One of the best bronzers there is in terms of blending, wear and look. Snow Bunny is really more of a highlighter to me. When you’re doing an all over bronze look to your face this makes a wonderful golden glow when used lightly. I don’t like to use this one heavily or alone because it can get a little frosty when you try to build up the pigment.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Swatches, Review & EOTD

Those who love makeup usually love chocolate.  Since Too Faced knows it’s fan base, they’ve combined two of my personal favorite things and created the decadent Chocolate Bar Eye Palette for Spring 2014.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette ReviewWhat Sephora says about the Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette:

What it is:
A sweetly tempting array of 16 matte and shimmer shadows scented with real chocolate.

What it does:
This beautiful assortment of chocolate-inspired shades were formulated using real cocoa powder. Encased in a playful chocolate bar tin, the rich selection of the perfect browns, neutrals, and little pops of color appeal to every candy lover.

This set contains:
- 0.03 oz x 14 Eye Shadows in Gilded Ganache, Milk Chocolate, Black Forrest Truffle, Triple Fudge, Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-Sweet, Strawberry Bon Bon, Candied Violet, Amaretto, Hazelnut, Crème Brulee, Haute Chocolate, Cherry Cordial
- 0.10 oz x 2 Eye Shadows in White Chocolate, Champagne Truffle
- How To Glamour Guide

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Too Faced Co-founder and Creative Director Jerrod Blandino learned of the healing properties of cocoa while getting a chocolate facial in Maui. With Chocolate Bar he created a first-of-its-kind palette that combines the healing benefits of chocolate with richly pigmented, velvety smooth shadows. Chocolate has been used for centuries for its soothing properties and to protect, condition, and heal skin that has been damaged by sun and wind. Studies have shown that the scent of cocoa powder can increase memory and brain power.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette BoxToo Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Box backThe outer packaging is girlie and appears as though it would be the wrapping around a candy bar.  On the back it shows and lists all 16 eye shadow shades.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette caseToo Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette case backThe packaging of the palette itself is yummy, a tin made and imprinted to look like it’s a chocolate bar.  On the back of the case is a short paragraph to get you hyped up and also to describe special features of the palette – such as the shadows are cocoa infused (and not in that cheap, fake chocolate way. They actually smell SO GOOD, not over powering in the least).

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Glamour Guide introAlso included is a How-To Glamour Guide, loaded up with three looks – Milk Chocolate, Semi-Sweet and Haute Cocoa.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Glamour GuideToo Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Get the Look CardPlease note: No part of this product is edible.  You would think that would go without saying… but apparently someone did something because Too Faced has placed a warning label of sorts on the packaging:

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette warningDon’t eat the makeup, you guys. Just don’t.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s check out this palette!

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Review 1 Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette Review 2The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette is stuffed with 16 shades of treats for your eyes. I thought the quality of all of the shades was wonderful except for Candied Violet, which just felt a little dry (but very useable).  Other than that you won’t be hurting for fantastic pigment.

Your options for looks with this palette near unlimited.  While this palette has plenty of neutral shades there are also tones of purple and even a deep golden brown that hits as khaki in some lights (Gilded Ganache).

The value is phenomenal and the palette is compact enough to take on vacation, even featuring a mid-sized interior mirror.

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette SwatchesFor the eye look below, rather than reference the included guide, I went for my own thing.  I started with a thin layer of Urban Decay Primer Potion.  Marzipan is all over the lid, Haute Chocolate is in the crease & outer V, Amaretto was used lightly above the crease and Champagne Truffle is lightly at the inner corners & to highlight. The top eyeliner is Urban Decay 24/7 Hustle Glide-On Eye Pencil & the lower eyeliner is NARS Puerta del Sol Larger Then Life Long-Wear Eyeliner and the mascara is Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant and Too Faced Better Than Sex layered.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Swatches & Review

New for Spring 2014 Too Faced introduces Bulletproof Brows.   A budge-proof brow formula available in two shades – Universal Brunette and today’s post of Universal Taupe.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows Universal Taupe reviewWhat Sephora says about Too Faced Bulletproof Brows:

What it is:
A sweat-proof, water-resistant brow definer.

What it does:
This groundbreaking brow definer is a powder, gel, pencil, and setting wax all in one cashmere clay formula. It applies creamy, sets dry, and doesn’t move until you decide to remove it. Too Faced created this product to give women the confidence in knowing their brows will last longer than a day at work and a night on the town.

This set contains:
- 0.07 oz Bulletproof Brows
- Bulletproof Brow Brush

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens
- Sulfates
- Phthalates

What else you need to know:
Bulletproof Brow includes a dual-sided, angled and spooley brush for precise application. In just 60 seconds, color locks down for 24-hour Bulletproof Brows.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows reviewToo Faced Bulletproof Brows ingredientsInside this box is everything Too Faced says you’ll need to make your brows bulletproof.  Which is only the pot of product and a duel-sided brush with an angled side and a spooly side.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows contentsToo Faced Bulletproof Brows backToo Faced Bulletproof Brows Universal Taupe reviewsToo Faced Bulletproof Brows Universal Taupe swatchesThis is my first experience with a gel for brows.  I must say, I’m totally hooked!  I find it much easier to fill in my sparse brows as well as make them appear more symmetrical.  The formula is easy to apply and blend.  Once it sets it won’t come off until you hit it with your makeup remover.  Be sure not to get a ton of product on the angled side.  You won’t need much and you’ll want it to appear as natural as possible.  I also recommend at least spot cleaning the angled brush after every use.  The leftover product will harden otherwise and will make for a not so lovely application the next time around.  I used Too Faced Bulletproof Brows in this photo.

The biggest downer people are going to experience is that this is only available in two shades – universal taupe and universal brunette.  These shades will certainly match a wide variety of people, but unfortunately won’t be a hit for everyone.  All we can hope for, is since it’s a new product for this brand, is that we’ll see some more shades in the future.  Because everyone needs Bulletproof Brows.

Too Faced Bulletproof Brows retails for $30.00 and is available at Sephora, Ulta and toofaced.com.

Top 10 Must-Have Mascaras

No matter how much makeup you put on your face, mascara is one of those products that finishes off not only your eye look, but completes your entire face as well.

Below I’ve compiled my Top 10 Must-Have Mascaras.  These are the products and wands that work the best for me and my particular lashes.  Some of these I’ve used consistently for over three years or more (replacing the actual mascara itself, of course!).  Check them out and see if any of your faves made my list!

Top 10 Must-Have Mascaras

  1. Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara.  $10 gets you amazing bottom lashes to match your high-voltage upper lashes that you’ll get by using the rest of the mascaras on this list ;) Bottom Lash is awesome because the brush is tiny and gets all of those hard to reach lash areas on the top and bottom of your lids.
  2. Chanel Le Volume de Chanel.  In one coat this “snowflake brush” thickens, lengthens and curls!
  3. Too Faced Better Than Sex.  This one thickens and curls to make eyes pop!  I love to layer it over MUFE Smoky Extravagant.
  4. Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant.  If you ever needed the perfect lengthening mascara, you’ve found it right here.  This looks great on it’s own, but when you put Too Faced Better Than Sex on top the effect is amazing!
  5. MAC Plushlash in PlushBlack.  Separates, curls, thickens and lengthens.  No matter how many mascaras I love, this one always ends up being the mascara I go back to for daily use.
  6. MAC False Lashes Extreme Black.  Lengthens and curls and also looks amazing under Plushlash!
  7. Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill.  The brush is thick, giving lashes a lot of oomph.  I love that this one never flakes or smudges all day.  Very long lasting!  There are several versions of this mascara, but I’ve found I like the original one the best.
  8. CoverGirl LashBlast Clump Crusher.  It just does not clump.  When this came out bloggers even tried THIRTY coats!  Not only will it keep your lashes clump-free, but they’ll look awesome too!
  9. Revlon Photoready 3D Volume Mascara.  I discovered this one when I was in the 2012 Allure Beauty Blogger of the Year competition.  For the purposes of the competition we were sent a huge box of products to assist in the challenges.  This mascara is one I still use to this day!
  10. Rimmel Scandaleyes Retro Glam.  My first Rimmel product!  This came in an Influenster VoxBox and is now a staple for me.  The brush is in an hourglass shape and just does amazing things to my lashes.  Coating well for thickening, but doesn’t go clump crazy.

Too Faced NEVER ENOUGH NUDE Lip Injection Color Bomb! Moisture Plumping Lip Tint Swatches & Review

If you’re a lover of Too Faced Lip Injection then you’ve probably already heard of their new Color Bomb! Moisture Plumping Lip Tint.  This product is available in six shades, so I ran off to Sephora to pick my fave shade for review, which ended up being Never Enough Nude.

Too Faced Never Enough NudeWhat Sephora says about Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb! Moisture Plumping Lip Tint:

What it is:
A lip tint that combines Lip Injection’s plumping technology with an explosion of satin color stain to create the look of fuller, luscious lips.

What it does:
This ultraconditioning balm combines Lip Injection plumping and blood vessel dilating technology with a satin color stain and a hint of sexy shine. Lip Injection Color Bomb! is packed with Vitamins A, C, and E and loaded with mango butter to drench lips in an all-day moisture for a softer, smoother, plumper pout.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
- Parabens

What else you need to know:
This 100 percent cruelty-free tint comes in a variety of new shades, including a special fiery red inspired by actress Francesca Eastwood, who also created its signature name Eastwood Red.

Too Faced Color Bomb Packaging Too Faced Never Enough Nude Color Bomb 2 Too Faced Never Enough Nude Color BombNever Enough Nude is described as a warm beige.  It comes across on me as a peachy-nude.  My initial reaction was that of love.  It is the perfect nude shade and wore nicely, applied easily… all cards falling into place for an A+ product.  Also, it actually seemed to be plumping!

Too Faced Never Enough Nude swatchesToo Faced Never Enough Nude Lip SwatchAs I was taking swatch photos on my arm my mouth started to burn.  Not tingle… searing, burning pain.  The unbearable kind.  This type of reaction to a lip plumping product is highly unusual for me.  I’m that person who loves the feeling that the original Too Faced Lip Injection and DuWop Lip Venom give to the lips. I quickly scrubbed my lips to remove all traces of the product but they still burned and stung.  I applied an ice pack for about 10-15 minutes.  When I took it off my lips were red, as well as the skin around them and still throbbing.  During that time I also removed the color from my arm and was met with red, irritated skin (see below).

Too Faced Color Bomb reaction(photo taken with my cell, no flash)

What you see above is just my skin.  It was more intense and a little raised in person.  The nude shade of the lipstick is completely removed.  My skin stayed like that for around 24 hours and the product only laid on my skin directly for about 5 minutes.

I definitely do not recommend this product and I’m still not over the shock of how my skin reacted to it.  I spoke to a few other people who had a similar reaction.  It’s unfortunate, because I’d have definitely bought the other shades if I hadn’t had that reaction.  Oddly, I swatched them all in store on the back of my hand and my skin didn’t react at all.  Maybe the batch?  I don’t know, but mine went back immediately.

Too Faced Lip Injection Color Bomb! Moisture Plumping Lip Tint retails for $21.00 and is available at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s and toofaced.com.
