February 2014 RocksBox Photos & Review #RocksBoxSelfie

Press Sample/Referral Links

RocksBox really hit it out of the park with this shipment on two out of the three pieces that they sent. I kept one of them and almost kept another… but at the last minute I decided to ship it back. Keep reading to see what jewelry pieces I needed to keep in my life!

February 2014 RocksBox Photos Review JewelryFrom Loren Hope, Clara Bracelet. I love this bracelet. I wore it twice while I had this shipment here. I had planned on keeping it, but the clasp, while easy to put on was also just as easy to come off. It’s gorgeous, but I don’t want to spend all that money then just end up losing it. A safety clasp added on would make it perfect! The retail price of this item is $65.00 and the member price is $52.00.

From Lotus Jewelry Studio, Zephyr Necklace in Gold and Diamond Labradorite. The one I kept! I just thought this necklace was so different with the delicate chain and small stones with even more dainty chain accents. The best part? All of those extra chains don’t get all twisted and tangled into one another. I know I’d regret it if I sent it back, so with me it stays! The retail price of this item is $76.00 and the member price is $60.80.

From Urban Gem, Outburst Earrings in Nautical. These totally weren’t me. They’re okay, and I’m sure someone will love them… but my style is more classic. While I’ll sometimes venture into the land of statement/color these earrings aren’t my type of entry ticket. The retail price of this item is $24.00 and the member price is $19.20.

RocksBox sent some beautiful pieces with this shipment.  I was especially enamored with the bracelet the moment I laid eyes on it!  To find out which piece I kept, keep reading!!

RocksBox Jewelry ReviewFrom Urban GemNautical by Nature Necklace in Sterling Silver. At first I wasn’t loving this.  Until I put it on.  This necklace is so beautiful and delicate, it’s basically perfect.  I love to layer it with my Nadri Arrow necklace (shown below). I purchased this necklace and wear it almost daily! The retail price of this item is $68.00 and the member price is $54.40.

From Robyn RhodesNiut Earrings. These were actually pretty and felt very lightweight on the ears (even though they look like they’d be heavy). Unfortunately I didn’t think they fit my personal style, so they went back. The retail price of this item is $78.00 and the member price is $62.40.

From Loren Hope, Small Sarra Cuff in Pine. I loved the look and style of this one, but was disappointed in the sizing.  My wrists aren’t big at all and I could not get this bracelet on me.  I was pretty disappointed, and probably would have kept it if I could’ve actually worn it.  The retail price of this item is $58.00 and the member price is $46.40.

December 2013 RocksBox Photos & Review

Press Sample/Referral Links

With all of the craziness of the holidays and new year I’ve gotten so behind on my posts!  Luckily, Rocksbox jewelry can definitely be posted about anytime.  Who doesn’t like looking at beautiful and artistic pieces?  Exactly!

RocksBox Jewelry ReviewFrom Isharya, Watermelon Cascade Enamel Earrings. I love the look of these.  The color is perfect and so is the length.  Unfortunately I didn’t like them as much on me as I did laying on the counter, so they went back.  The retail price of this item is $110.00 and the member price is $94.40.

From Urban GemBaroque Borders Earrings in Snow. This set ended up being my favorite of the bunch, which was surprising because initially I didn’t think they’d look right on me.  I ended up sending them back because I wasn’t sure I’d be able to get enough wear out of them to justify a purchase.  The retail price of this item is $46.00 and the member price is $36.80.

From Loren HopeElva Tassel Necklace.  This one was definitely not for me.  It’s pretty to look at, but not my style.  The retail price of this item is $78.00 and the member price is $62.40.

Makeup Wars – My 2013 Holiday Wish List

Makeup Wars Holiday Wish ListLast year when the Makeup Wars bloggers did Wish Lists I concentrated on beauty items.  This year I’m working on my entire Christmas Wish List from beauty to fashion.. and maybe a little bit of techie stuffs.  Those are basically the categories I obsess over, and Christmas is the time I can cross my fingers and hope for the best and actually have a 50% chance of that happening.

The number one item on my wish list this year is a MacBook Pro (*cough* Amazon Wishlist *cough*.  This particular wish is likely not going to happen happen.  It’s pricey and not really necessary.  I do fine with my PC but I could achieve another level of blogging with the MacBook, and also be able to blog from somewhere a lot more private and quiet than the family computer.  I’ve been hitting up websites that are doing giveaways and entering for one but so far, no dice!

Next, jewelry.  Let’s get real, who doesn’t want jewelry for Christmas?  What I usually get from my kiddies is an item from Tiffany & Co.  My not-so-subtle “hint” was for this piece – The Three Key Pendant. I love the different metals.  It’s on a 16″ chain but I’d love if it were on an 18″ or 20″ chain, since I’d like something like keys to hang a little lower.

Here’s another that I’m 99% sure won’t happen, the Burberry House Check Crossbody.  I lust it… and it’s not that much… right =\

On to beauty!  Finally, right?!

Sherrieblossom – the ICEbOX Shorty Skinny.  You may remember that I reviewed the ICEbOX Wide back in August.  Well, it was pretty full then and nothing else is fitting in there at this point.  This other one is slightly smaller and I can put it on my vanity to keep the things I reach for the most even more handy.  The Shorty Skinny is currently sold out on the website, but I’m hoping I can get my hands on it for the holiday season! *fingers crossed*

Holiday Beauty Wish List

  • em cosmetics has been really intriguing to me lately, and I’d love to have more from the line!  My not so short list includes Waterliners in every shade but Amazing Grey (since I have that coming from a recent order) as well as the Life Palette in Beach Life.  Oh, and Strawberry Lip Balm!
  • Urban DecayGood Karma Optical Blurring Brush.  I hear good things, but every time I go to purchase in store it’s sold out, or online I forget to add it to my bag.  It’s time to just cut myself out of the equation and put it out there on my wish list!
  • BurberryLip Cover Soft Satin Lipstick Set.  Burberry has a lovely lipstick formula, and I’d love to get my hands on a few more!
  • Bare MineralsPerfect Ten Collection.  This just looks like the perfect, fabulously smokey holiday kit.
  • Too FacedAll I Want for Christmas.  This set is adorable, and once I saw the lip and blush shades I knew it had to be mine!
  • Jack BlackBalm Squad Lip Quad Set.   My fave lip balm in a set of four? Yes, please.

November 2013 RocksBox Photos & Review

Press Sample/Referral Links

So how about I posted teaser pics for this RocksBox on my Instagram and made up a story in my head (that must have really been believable) that I already posted about it.  I totally didn’t and I feel so bad!  It was a really fun shipment and I’m horrible for not having shared it with you earlier!

RocksBoxI had some really cool and edgy pieces of jewelry in this shipment.  It’s actually a blessing in disguise that I thought I already blogged this and never sent the shipment back, because I totally wore the earrings to an event I went to on Friday evening.

RocksBox JewelryFrom Urban Gem, Pave Spike Earrings.  These are the perfect blend of edgy and girly.  They don’t hang very long and are a structured sort of dangle earring.  I loved wearing these with a red lip!  The retail price of this item is $42.00 and the member price is $33.60.

From CC Skye, Beaded Bracelet in Gold.  I loved the horn that dangles off of this bracelet, it’s so laid-back but on trend.  Perfect for a relaxed evening out on the town.  The retail price of this item is $60.00 and the member price is $48.00.

From Charlene K, Raw Stone Pendant Necklace in Blue Turquoise.  I’m really into these long statement necklaces.  While this isn’t my favorite one that I’ve received in the last few RocksBoxes it’s still beautiful and I got a ton of questions and compliments on it.  The retail price of this item is $115.00 and the member price is $92.00.
