Mother’s Day 2013 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review – Special Edition

Press Sample/Affiliate Links

As I’m sure you’re aware, May is a special month for Mom’s!  Mother’s Day is tomorrow and GlossyBox has a special edition box that is especially for pampering Mom’s (or yourself, even if you’re not a mom… cause everyone deserves to relax)!

Keep in mind, there is still time to subscribe for the May Box, aka the Celebration Box, which is promised to be AMAZING since it’s the 1 year anniversary of GlossyBox in the US!

IMG_4673Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the Mother’s Day 2013 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

IMG_4674 IMG_4681 IMG_4685 IMG_4699 IMG_4700First up is an Essie Nail Polish in Geranium.  This polish is a bold and beautiful shade right on trend for the season.  The formula is fabulous and also perfect in one coat!

IMG_5200Next is the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.  I reviewed this a few months ago and loved it.  It gives awesome curl and volume in just one coat!

From Biolage the ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment.  This Deluxe Size is exclusive to GlossyBox.  This oil smells yummy and works to restore your hair and give shine.  A little goes a long way!  I only use products such as this at the ends of my hair.

Next, from ModelCo the Cheek + Lip Tint in Rosy Red.  This stain gives a long-lasting tinted look to your lips and cheeks that, when worn correctly, gives that just pinched look.  Use sparingly, this isn’t easy to get off so you’ll have a better time just adding as needed.

IMG_5193From ColorProof Evolved Color Care the CrazySmooth Anti-Frizz Shampoo & Conditioner.  These products (and yay for getting both a shampoo and condioner!) tamed my frizz well and my hair looked shiny.  Definitely a love!!

Finally, from ByTerry, the Creme de Rose.  This is meant to firm, moisturize and plump the skin.  The size is too small to accurately review on those terms, but I found that a little but had my skin feeling soft and the light rose scent isn’t overpowering.

With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, fragrance… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.

With the exception of the LMdB sample, the brands for Mother’s Day are all new brands to my stash!  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth, and useable items to boot!!!

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

The price is a bit higher than that of other services you may have heard of or belong to.  At $21 I would expect double the awesomeness of what I’d receive from, say, Birchbox.

GLOSSYBOX will always offer a MINIMUM of five products.  After receiving your box, you can fill out more surveys in order to rate the products you received so they can better tailor your next package.  So, basically, after a few months of the service, your packages should be PERFECT.

Again: May is their 1 year anniversary ;) so good things… hint hint….

**TIP – Make sure you review the products received in your GLOSSYBOX to receive 20 GLOSSYDots per review.  You can use these toward your own free box!**

April 2013 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review

Press SampleAffiliate Links

You better WORK!  (I said that in my best RuPaul voice)  Work That Beauty!  Which is the theme for the April 2013 Glossybox!

IMG_3280Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the April 2013 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

IMG_3285 IMG_3288 IMG_3296 IMG_3301First, from Alterna Haircare - Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist.  This is the perfect mist for “day after hair”.  Meaning, I do my hair straight one day and the next day maybe I don’t feel like washing it.  I spritz this in for the texture to revive it and it looks tousled and sexy.  Though, I do keep it out of my roots.  Those tend to get oily the day after a wash so I put dry shampoo there instead.

Next, from Bvlgari, the Eau Parfumee au the Blanc Tea Bag for Bath.  In the February box we got the coordinating soap, drop this in the tub, relax and scrub up.  You’ll smell insanely yummy!

From the Honest CompanyHonest Organic Lip Balm.  Made from organic jojoba and oils this balm is wonderfully moisturizing and doesn’t feel sloppy on the lips.  This is actually the perfect balm to dot on the lips before putting on a dry lipstick.  I got the Sweet Orange Vanilla scent and it’s AMAZING.

Next, from TIGI Cosmetics, the Glow Blush in Brilliance.  I like this blush more before it’s blended out.  It’s not a bad product to own (and, yay, they sent a full size!!!) but there is a lot of golden shimmer when blended out (hard to tell in the pic, but in direct light you can really notice it) so it’s not “me” but if you’re into that you’re going to LOVE what this blush does.

IMG_3424Finally, a GlossyBox Member Exclusive from Le Metier de Beaute – a sample of the Replenishing Daily Solution.  This is one of my favorite creams because it makes your face supple and fresh… and most importantly, doesn’t make me break out.  Included on the sample card is a $75 off coupon code toward the purchase of a full size on lemetierdebeaute.com.  Wooooo!

With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, fragrance… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.

With the exception of the LMdB sample, the brands for April are all new brands to my stash!  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth, and useable items to boot!!!

February 2013 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review

For February, Glossybox is going international!  This month’s box arrives on the tales of the amazing January Glossybox, which was curated by Leandra Medine of the Man Repeller.  A tough act to follow!

IMG_7296 IMG_7305Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the February 2013 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

IMG_7307 IMG_7309 IMG_7318 IMG_7319 IMG_7329The first item is from Bvlgari and is the Eau Parfumee Au The Blanc Soap.  This smells lovely, and if you’re a fan of the perfume, you’re sure to be a fan of the soap.  It’s neither feminine nor masculine, so it can be enjoyed by all!

The next item is from Da Vinci Cosmetics and it’s the shimmer powder in Lava.  It’s a versatile mineral powder that says it can be used under the eye brow or as a cheek highlighter, but I think with the shade I got it’s best used as an eyeshadow.  It actually reminds me of MAC Green Brown pigment but with less power.  The shadow is very smooth and has a nice pigment (swatched below).

Third, from Evologie, the eSystem Duo Pack Intensive Blemish Serum & Stay Clear Cream.  It’s a mini-duo of skin care said to rapidly clear blemishes and reduce redness.  It feels good, and I’ll definitely use through the samples, though it would be hard to determine if it actually works because the sizes are small.

Fourth, from Lisi, the Color Glaze Lip Gloss in 4 Square.  This shimmery burgundy shade applies to the sheer side and gives just a hint of color.  Perfect for those who want to try the color but are timid about going too deep.  This gloss doesn’t have a ton of shine and is rather sticky, but it would be lovely for layering.

IMG_7466Finally, from Nail Rock, Design Nail Wraps in Union Jack Gold and Black.  Nail wraps are a dream for when you don’t feel like maintaining a mani.  I love them for vacations.  However, this style wouldn’t be one I’d wear to anything.  I’m sad I didn’t get the one they showed on the included pamphlet with the red and gold reverse french mani.  Hot.

With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, fragrance… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.

The brands for February are all new brands to my stash!  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth, and useable items to boot!!!  And, of course, a GlossyboxMag to read while you relax in the tub with your Bvlgari Soap.

January 2013 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review – The Man Repeller

GlossyBox is taking no prisoners in the social order of sample box subscriptions this year by kicking off 2013 with a collaboration with top Fashion Blogger – Man Repeller!  The January ‘Winter Survival’ box is chock full of Leandra Medine’s favorite beauty products (and she graces the cover of this months included GlossyMag too!).

132 133 137Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the January 2013 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

141 144 153The first item is a mini size of the Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara.  With such a long name, it darn well better lengthen my lashes like no other.. which is DOES!  It did flake a bit, but I think the mascara itself is pretty much a win (it’s arm swatched way below with the Tarte lippie).

156Next is a mini size Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum.  At first I was all… whatttttt… clay?  But this stuff is pretty nice.  It mattifies, but not so much that you look fake.  There is a fragrance to it, but it’s not too bad.  I’m actually really shocked that I like this, and I do plan on picking up a full size!

From Le Metier de Beaute a sample packet of the Replenishing Daily Solution.  All Le Metier de Beaute skin care is amazing.  I’d own it all if I could afford to.  The Replenishing Daily Solution is super hydrating and leaves your skin feeling like a million bucks.  The saying is “you get what you pay for” and with this product, you can tell.

From Narciso Rodriguez for her Eau de Toilette Spray.  This was not love at first spray.  The first smells I encountered were peony (UGH) and cinnamon.  Which is totally odd, but that’s what it smelled like.  After my initial “this funks” moment I sniffed my arm again and found that this fragrance settled in rather well.  I actually like it!  It’s not light by any means, so make sure this is one you just mist into the air and walk through.

From OPI and the new Liquid Sand Nail Lacquer Formula is Can’t Let Go.  This launched with Mariah Carey and I adored the entire collection.  You can see full collection swatches here.

From Sebastian Professional – Potion 9.  I’ve never heard of this, but I was definitely intrigued, because Leandra has this refined yet mussed quality to her hair that looks like she rolled out of bed looking adorable.  I can never pull off that look, so I’ll try anything that will get me there even a little bit.  What I found with Potion 9 is that it keeps things in place without making my hair too sticky.  I’ve been plagued with these ridiculous baby hairs lately that stick straight up like I’m related to Einstein and instead of giving me smarts he gave me hair.  A bit of this in damp hair before I dry and it all comes out looking much better.  Yet another product I’ll be buying when I run out of this one!

Finally, from Tarte, a FULL SIZE Glamazon Pure-Performance 12-hour Lipstick in Fierce.  WOO!  I have been DYING to try out this formula.  It’s so hydrating and glossy while still being super pigmented.  It was a snap to apply and the color is a gorgeous, warm orange-red (mostly red).  It didn’t stay on 12-hours, but who cares?  Stunning.

157154 155With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, hair care… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases, every single month.

The brands for January are a mix of some of my faves as well as new loves.  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth!  I was a fan of everything in this one, which can only mean one thing… Leandra and I are destined to be besties *fan girl moment*.

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

December 2012 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review

Hello!!!!  I feel like I’ve missed out on the internet world for the last couple of days!  Christmas and holiday festivus has taken over!  And, also, I had to organize to fit in all of these new toys that Santa dropped off for the kids.  My sons room literally took me FOUR HOURS alone to deal with.  He’s a collector.  I say that with love.

GlossyBox certainly knows how to take care of it’s subbies for the holidays.  The December box was loaded with goodies and surprises that made me smile from ear to ear.  The theme this month is Glamour, Glitz and Gloss.  It’s filled with items to make you look and feel uber glitzy for any holiday party you have coming up.

039 044Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the December 2012 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

048 051 056The first product is from Forest Essentials Luxurious Ayurveda and is the Madurai Jasmine & Mogra Bath & Shower Gel.  This product is a gloriously yummy shower moisturizer that helps keep skin soft and leaves a subtle scent.  I normally wear Chanel Chance and this oil reacts well with that fragrance, garner compliments all over the party.

Next is from Heartland Fragrance Co. and are White Tea Bath Salts.  I love love love Bath Salts.  They just seem more mature than bubbles.  The aromatherapy is a great way to relax and de-stress from a long night of mingling.

Third, from mark., is a Lipclick Luxe Lipstick in m.powerment petal.  At first I wasn’t too excited about this rosy pink shade.  The packaging seemed teenager and the shade just normal.  Once I put it on I was pleased to see it went perfectly with my tone and will actually be a shade I can use quite frequently.  It’s nicely pigmented and non-drying.  This shade is limited edition and was developed to raise awareness for a powerful women’s cause.

075 078Fourth, from Issey Miyake, the Pleats Please Eau de Toilette.  This fragrance is inspired by the designers ready-to-wear line.  I’ve never seen the line, but I do hope it’s better than the fragrance.  It’s overpowering, floral, and smells old.  The scent does die down a bit after awhile, but this isn’t something I’d reach for on any occasion.  If you like a heavy floral scent, this might be for you.

Fifth, from Wella, is the Velvet Amplifier.  This styling primer works well to get your hair ready for any sort of styling plans you have for it.  The serum provides manageability and will amplify control.

Sixth (yes, we’re still going!) is a Nail Lacquer from Zoya.  The shade I got is Electra and can be seen swatched and reviewed here with the rest of the Ornate Holiday Collection.

Finally, from JewelMint, a piece of jewelry as a special gift for this holiday season.  It says various styles on the card, all retailing at $29.99, so there should be a few different pieces floating around.  The piece I received is a gold heart with red stones with the two birds (see below).  It seems more appropriate for Valentine’s Day, but it’s definitely glitzy enough for holiday wear.  The heart also has a pin on the back for another way to wear.  I’m so excited for jewelry in the GlossyBox.  Along with Godiva, jewelry is another quick path to my heart ;)

057In addition to the products, there is also a GlossyMag filled with trends, style and more!

033With GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, hair care… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases.

The brands for December are a mix of some of my faves as well as new loves.  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth!  The only item I absolutely was not a fan of was the perfume.  Just too strong.

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

November 2012 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos & Review

Heyyyyyy!  I feel like I’m out of touch since I didn’t post yesterday!  Completely sick, over here.  Hit me like a lead sled!  <—– Saying things like that is fun.

I’m still under the weather, but I could NOT WAIT to show you the November GlossyBox, and not just because November is about over.  It’s seriously the awesomest of the awesome.  The theme is ‘Tis the Season to be Glossy, which gets me into the holiday makeup spirit even when I’m ill.  Oddly, though, there is no gloss in this box lol I guess being beautifully festive makes us glossy!

Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the November 2012 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

(hiding from me!)

The first product is by NuMe Style and is the Arganics by NuMe Argan Oil.  You all know about Argan Oil by now.  I think this is probably the easiest thing for companies to supply a beauty box, because I get them in every subscription, every month.  This one works the same as the others – well!  I don’t tend to use products like this on my skin, but I do love to use Argan Oil on the ends of my hair to make them look healthier in between cuts.  Also from NuMe is a $100 Gift Certificate to use towards styling tools or hair extensions.  I am in the market for a curling iron, so this will go to use!

Next, from Incoco, are the Nail Polish Applique.  I got the shade Sinderella, which is a shimmery holiday red.  These stickers are awesome to use for things like events, holidays, vacations or those times when you just don’t want to worry about having to change or fix your mani.  This shade will be perfect for the holiday festivities!

The third item is from Skin&Co Roma.  It’s a nice sample size of their Truffle Serum: Hydro-Toning Day Face Serum.  To me, this serum smells of coconuts and is infused with Peptides and pure extracts of Tuber Melanosporum and Hyaluronic Acid.  A little goes a long way, but it absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel sticky.  This can be used daily.

For the fourth product, Kryolan has teamed up with GlossyBox and put together a Blusher in Glossy Rosewood (swatches below).  When I swatched this shade it felt a little dry, but wore SO WELL and is incredibly pigmented and beautiful.  It’s one of my favorite pieces in this box, topped only by the next and final item….

…which is the Lip & Eye Medium Pencil in Honour by Illamasqua.  The shade is a deep brown with almost a hint of burgundy in there.  It is saturated and wears beautifully.  While this color will never touch my lips, it is amazing on the eye.

In addition to the products, you also get a GlossyMag filled with trends, style and more!

WIth GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, nails, hair care… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases.

The brands for November are a mix of some of my faves as well as new loves.  Clearly, you’re getting your money’s worth!

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

October 2012 GlossyBox Swatches, Photos, Review & GIVEAWAY!

We’re a little late for October, but with all of the weather mess going on and shipments getting delayed… what can you do?  And, to make up for it, there is a giveaway at the end of the post.  WOOOOO!

The October 2012 GLOSSYBOX is titled Spa Luxe.  Which is needed in my home right now because it’s COLD OUTSIDE and I don’t want to leave my house for pampering.

Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the October 2012 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

The first product this month is from Alessandro – the Pedix Heel Rescue Balm.  This product is nice, thick and soothing when applied all over my feet (even though it says heel it’s not JUST for heels).  It smells of peppermint and feels cool.

Next is the Alterna Bamboo Luminous Shine Mist.  Who doesn’t love a product that will make their hair shine?  I like the feel of it, but the scent isn’t very girlie.  I swear I smell pine musk… which makes me think of a guy.

Third is the Carol’s Daughter Shea Souffle.  I am a new found fan of Carol’s Daughter, so I was REALLY excited to see this product in this months GlossyBox.  Shea Souffle is extremely rich but absorbs quickly.  And it smells like almond cookies.  This is the product you need to combat dry, winter skin!

From Heartland Fragrances we have an Exfoliating Loofa Soap.  I don’t know if this was the intent, but there is a scary face on the side and with a flavor name like Blood Orange it’s extremely appropriate for October!  And it smells and feels great, which is obviously a huge plus!

Finally, from ModelCo, a Lip Duo of Dusk Lipstick & Striptease Ultra Shine Lip Gloss.  I love that this shade is perfect for Fall and both the Lipstick and gloss were creamy and not sticky.  A little mirror is included on the side to check application.  My only beef with this product is that the lipstick and the wand are attached to the part with the mirror.  Meaning, you have to apply the products blind and then check your results after.  I would much rather be able to use the mirror WHILE I’m applying!

Overall, this months GlossyBox was pretty good.  I haven’t heard of a few of the brands, but they are all intriguing items that I’m happy to try out.  Some I’ve clearly already fallen in love with!

WIth GlossyBox you get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, hair care… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases.

The brands for October are interesting and you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.  GlossyBox is still a go for next month!

GLOSSYBOX is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

GLOSSYBOX will always offer a MINIMUM of five products.  After receiving your box, you can fill out more surveys in order to rate the products you received so they can better tailor your next package.  So, basically, after a few months of the service, your packages should be PERFECT.

September 2012 GlossyBox Photos & Review

It’s officially FALL!  You have no idea how much I love the crisp and cool Fall weather.  I get SO MAD when it doesn’t last long so I’m savoring these hoodie wearing days!

With that, I have the September GLOSSYBOX here to review, appropriately entitled “Fall Forward”.

Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the September 2012 GLOSSYBOX?  Let’s check it out!

First, from GKHAIR we have two products, a shampoo and a conditioner.  Hallelujah!  A set!  Freaking love that.  Not one without the other so you have no clue if the system actually works, we have BOTH!  GK stands for Global Keratin, and these products contain Juvexin (aka the “only protein compound scientifically proven to protect and restore hair….”).  I love how these products make my hair look and feel, but I’m not a fan on the scent.  It reminds me of the Brown Sugar and Fig (I think) from Bath & Body Works.  So, if you love that, you’ll love this.

Next, from Koh Gen Do, we get to sample the Cleansing Spa Water.  Just the name makes me relax.  It’s refreshing to the skin, and I like to use products such as this to do my initial makeup remover, so I can be sure my Murad is getting deep down in.  I don’t find this to remove my eye makeup quickly, or completely, but it will be good for those of you that don’t wear mascara.  Or, for those of you that have time to hold a cotton ball over your eyes to let it soak and wipe.  You’ll have to repeat this at least twice.

Third, my favorite item from this months box, Kryolan for GlossyBox Moisture Rich Lipstick in Glossy Pink.  This lipstick felt so good on and really complemented my skin tone well.  It would be awesome to see more of these!  Maybe GlossyBox can get with Illamasqua and do a polish!

Finally, from Missha – the M Perfect Cover BB Cream SPF 42.  Amazing coverage, amazing SPF and this product feels great on.  Unfortunately, the shade was picked for me rather than by me and it’s at least a shade too dark for my tone.  The shade shown below is in #31 Golden Beige.  Several other shades are available, and I think I’d have matched up better with #21 Light Beige, or #23 Natural Beige.  But, do know that the product itself is very nice!  The product sent was FULL SIZE, which retails at $29.99.  Well more than the cost of the entire box.

Overall, this months GlossyBox was pretty good.  Full of brands I’ve been curious about and items I’ll use.  You get a bit of everything, makeup, skin care, hair care… I love that this subscription box is sure to cover all of the bases.  It the Missha would have matched my skin tone I’d have given it an A for sure!

The brands for September are interesting and you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.

**TIP – Make sure you review the products received in your GLOSSYBOX to receive 20 GLOSSYDots per review.  You can use these toward your own free box!**

August 2012 GlossyBox Photos & Review

With Summer winding down and cool weather approaching rapidly, GlossyBox has decided to use their August installment to provide Pure Luxury.

Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the August 2012 GlossyBox?  Let’s check it out!

First, from Biolage, we have the ExquisiteOil Replenishing Treatment.  It’s made for all hair types and is said to give instant shine and weightless replenishment.  First off, any OIL is going to give instant shine.  It’s freaking oil.  That being said, I love this product from Biolage!  I am a fan of the brand in general, and this is a great addition!  I use this product on my ends when my hair is back in a clip or messy bun and I want to take it down.  It obviously needs smoothing out and a bit of taming.  Keep the oil away from your scalp area so you don’t look like you’re a dirtball.

Next, from Ellis Faas, we have Ellis Lips Milky Lips in shade L204.  I love the product, it was easy to apply, the formula great, and the packaging is exquisite.  The shade, however, is ghastly.  It’s orange.  Tangerine, even.  No one can pull this off on their mouth and live to tell the tale.  And by no one I mean me.

Third, from Ole Henriksen, we have Truth Serum.  Don’t run away, this isn’t going to make you divulge your most intimate of secrets.  THIS Truth Serum is here to smooth out your lines and wrinkles as well as keep your skin nourished.  The serum doesn’t feel too slick and leaves your skin soft after it soaks in.  It also smells faintly of oranges.

Next, from Touch In Sol we have Feel like Honey Moon Skin Base.  This is a primer to be applied after your skin care but before makeup.  Said to firm and revitalize the skin it will also make for better makeup application.  Normally, I’m not one for a base for makeup.  It just usually doesn’t make a difference on me.  I HAD to check this out, though.  The consistency is unlike any other.  It’s very much like a serum when it goes on, but isn’t sticky and leaves the skin smooth.  I tend to get rather oily, so I don’t feel like this let my entire face set well, but I did notice that my blush didn’t fade.

I’ve definitely saved the best for last.  The Illamasqua Nail Varnish.  I freaking LOVE this brands polishes.  To get a full size one within a sample box is awesome.  I got the shade Taint from the Theatre of the Nameless Collection.  I swear to you that is what it’s called.  (I can just imagine the face my mom is making right now haha).  It makes me love the polish even more because not only is the shade gorgeous (like a chocolate brown with a hint of a greenish undertone.  In the sun I could have sworn it was olive) but the name is hilarious!  Every time I look at my nails I laugh and I’m instantly in a great mood.

This applied well and only needed two coats for full and even opacity.

Overall, this months GlossyBox has been the best that I’ve received, and that’s a high level to measure up to.  You get a bit of everything, makeup, polish, skin care, hair care… it’s covering all of the bases!

The brands for August are phenomenal and you’re definitely getting a good value.  Also included with this months box is a hard copy of “Glossy Mag” (see below), which you can also view online.

GlossyBox is a subscription service.  You sign up on the website and then from there you can order your subscription based on one month, six months, or a year.  You’ll answer a series of questions and based off of that, you will receive a customized box.  This is all pretty standard for a beauty subscription service.

July 2012 GlossyBox Photos & Review

Last month, GlossyBox focused on Summer Simplicity.  This month they’re moving on to Summer Nights.  Am I the only one who has the song from Grease stuck in my head right now???  If you didn’t before, I bet now you do haha

Currently available in 19 countries, GlossyBox has become known for their high quality samples and prestigious brands such as NARS, Lancome, Laura Mercier, and more.

So, what is in the July 2012 GlossyBox?  Let’s check it out!

The first item is from Alessandro International and is the Pedix Heel Rescue Balm.  At first, I’m all… omg this stinks.  Not horribly, but it’s a weird smell mixed with menthol.  But ohhhh does it feel AMAZING.  It’s nourishing and actually cools my feet.  I applied it an hour ago and my feet still feel cool!  And I love it when my feet are cold at night, it helps me sleep.  I would absolutely buy a full size of this over and over.

Next is the Figs & Rouge Lip, Face & Body Balm.  I’m not crazy for the smell… and when you put it on your lips the smell and taste get into your mouth, which kind of isn’t fun.  But it is extremely moisturizing.  I don’t know about the give and take, though.  On one hand, I have a minor headache… on the other hand it feels SO GOOD.

Up third and fourth by Sebastian is the Color Ignite Multi Tone Shampoo and Conditioner.  The heavens have parted and we finally see a sample service send over the matching Shampoo and Conditioner.  HUZZUH!  So many times you get one or the other, and they’re always marked “best if followed by the conditioner” and it’s like… well how can I accurately test this if I only have part of the equation?  Anyway,  the shampoo is okay, and both products do what they say and make the hair lustrous.  However, the Conditioner stinks a bit.  (What is it with me and smells and this box?!)  If it was over the moon amazing, I could get past it… but I wouldn’t buy a full size.

Next from Senna Cosmetics we have their Double Dose Lip Lacquer.  On one side is a nude peach shimmer and on the other side is an apricot shimmer.  The shades are lovely, but rather sticky.

And, this months special surprise, a sample of Blushed fragrance by Ruddy Water.  The scent is very strong, and smells of perfumed candy.  It makes me extremely thirsty and hungry lol

Overall, I enjoyed this months GlossyBox.  I love the brands, and the value is definitely there.  Another extra was a hard copy of the new “Glossy Mag”, which you can also view online.
