It’s so exciting when you see a product or a collection created by a blogger. It’s even more exciting when that blogger is one of my faves and also a fellow sorority sister (unfortunately from a different college, but a sister all the same!)!! Michelle Mismas from All Lacquered Up has been working diligently with FingerPaints to create the A Pair Affair Collection, which consists of six shades of nail polish created by Michelle (click here for a behind the scenes look at the creative process of A Pair Affair)!
Of the six I chose Bare No Secrets and Our Tips Are Tealed.
I absolutely adore how Bare No Secrets is that perfect sandy beige but has some sporadic gold glitters to it… the secrets, if you will. Our Tips Are Tealed is a stunning emerald foil metallic shimmer with a hit of teal… just enough to make it different.
I used two coats of Bare No Secrets for full coverage and then two coats of Our Tips Are Tealed for the french effect. For a look at this mani in full sun and no flash, check out the Instagram photo.
A Pair Affair is a limited edition collection from FingerPaints and All Lacquered Up. Hurry and get them now at Sally Beauty where they retail for $5.29 each (or, if you have a club card, $4.49 each!).

A week or two ago I ran into my local Sally Beauty Supply in search of my favorite hair brush. Which, incidentally, they no longer carry. However, the trip was not wasted! The holiday polishes are out in full force, and I scored some good ones!
After much perusing the two holiday 2012 shades I decided on were Color Club Berry and Bright and Finger Paints Santa’s Magic.
I thought they’d be fun to layer and do a bit of “art” with. I ended up falling in love with the look and this is a front runner for my Christmas Day mani.
Color Club Berry and Bright is a beautiful foil metallic berry shade. It is scented and smells lovely. But, the best part? ONE COAT.
Finger Paints Santa’s Magic, aside from having an awesome and very fitting name, has a clear base with holo hex glitters of all sizes. It actually coated really well. I put one coat over the whole nail then dabbed a bit more near the tops of the nail after that dried.
I’m basically in love. What nail polish colors do you like to wear to be festive?
How about I didn’t even know Finger Paints had a line of magnetic polish? I guess it should just be assumed that this year every brand is going to come out with something magnetic. But how good is it?
During the Sally Beauty Supply buy two polishes get one free deal, Finger Paints Cop An Attitude called out to me. In the bottle, it looks like a shade I’ve never seen in a magnetic polish (though I’m sure I haven’t seen ALL of the magnetic polishes in the world).
Cop An Attitude has a frosty copper base and a burst of reddish orange shimmer with a shift of golden shimmer at the magnetic part. The shade is really quite beautiful, and one of my favorites for Fall (even though it’s Summer lol). The brush is wide but not too wide, so it was easy application with this polish. I used one very thick coat of Cop An Attitude for the swatch photos.
To apply this polish, hover the magnetic cap over the nail for 15 seconds while polish is still wet. Simple! Luckily, the magnetic cap part isn’t attached to the brush, so polish isn’t dripping everywhere while you’re trying to get the effect to appear. The magnet seems to be strong and the effect appeared after about 5 seconds. Make sure the polish doesn’t actually touch the magnet.
Overall, I was pretty impressed with Cop An Attitude. The polish is gorgeous in color and easy to apply. The magnetic effect wasn’t perfect, but placement seems to be a bit difficult on all of the ones I’ve tried. It’d be nice if on the magnet part they showed where the wave effect was so you knew exactly where to place it on the nail. I placed below my cuticle for each of my fingers (since I have shorter nails) and it looked better on some nails over others.
What brand has your favorite Magnetic Polish formula? Which one has the best magnet?
Finger Paints Magnetic Effects Polishes retail for $6.99 and are Limited Edition. They are currently available at Sally Beauty Supply.
Last week I got my #1 Finger Paints lemming! Dahlia My Number is just as gorgeous in real life as it is in all the swatches you’ve been drooling over.
My only gripe is that it didn’t come with a blingy ring like Aren’t You Glad-iolous….. I got them at 2 different Sally Beauty Supply, so maybe that’s the reason.
2 coats of Dahlia My Number & Seche Vite FDTC
Can you imagine how HOT this will be on toes for Spring/Summer?!
Finger Paints Nail Color
are available at Sally Beauty Supply for $4.99 each.
My NOTD yesterday was (and still is) Finger Paints Aren’t You Glad-iolous? AYG is part of the Finger Paints Spring 2011 line and is a beautiful lilac creme.
I don’t own many Finger Paints polishes, and this is my first experience with one of their cremes. I’m super crazy impressed. The formula is amazing. It applied SO well and only took TWO coats. I’m Mrs. 3 coats no matter what and I only used 2 here!
And look, a blingy ring to make your nails even more fancy
From yesterday I have no visible wear from this polish. It’s holding beautiful and strong. There are definately more Finger Paints cremes in my future. From this collection the only other color that called to me was Dahlia My Number (not a creme), which it hopefully still in stock and wanting to be picked up today!
Finger Paints retail for $4.49 (give or take a promotion or coupon) and I picked mine up at Sally Beauty Supply.
Do you have a favorite brand for creme polishes? Do tell
A biggie on my nail polish holiday wish list was Holly Good Time from Finger Paints. After my daughter got her flu shot today I ran out to Sally’s with my 20% off coupon and grabbed up the last one.
I don’t own any other Finger Prints polishes, so it’s hard to compare it to those, but I thought the formula was pretty nice. The red and gold glitter is fine and covered well in 3 semi-thick coats. It reminds me of the holidays, all cheerful and glittery. If you enlarge the photo (by clicking) you can see how flashy it all is.
Finger Paints are $3.99 right now at Sally’s!!! Go go go!
