Makeup Wars – Our Favorite Complexion Helpers featuring Etude House!

I’ve continuously sung the praises of my favorite face primer/tinted skin enhancer Miracle Skin Transformer, but for this Makeup Wars post on Our Favorite Complexion Helpers I wanted to give a nod to where it all started – Asian Beauty.

Etude House is known for their adorable packaging, but beyond that the quality of their products is hands down amazing – which is why the CC Cream & BB Cream are at the top of my list of faves.

IMG_0419 IMG_0423 IMG_0426 IMG_0429The CC Cream GlowCorrect & Care – is terrifyingly white.  But.  It blends well.  You have to work fast once this is on your skin because it seems to adhere and absorb rather quickly.  You’re to apply generously, but I noticed on my tone if I applied too much I turned ghostly.  I’ve found it’s best to work on applying and blending one area at a time and then as you add the BB Cream over-top it will smooth, blend and even out.  The formula swatched below is in Glow, but there is also one called Silky.

Not only is this CC Cream SPF 30/PA+++ but it also has 8-in-1 Multi-Function benefits such as Anti-Aging, Stress Relief, Hydration, Whitening, Sun Protection, Tone-Up, Smooth Texture and Luminosity.  Not sure how a CC Cream can aid in stress relief but at this point I’ll try anything lmao.  In any event, I found that this really does help to conceal and hopefully with continued use I’ll see some correction in any markings on my face.

IMG_0435The Precious Mineral BB Cream Cotton Fit is also SPF 30/PA+++ and works at whitening, anti-darkening and anti-wrinkle.  The shade swatched above is in Natural Beige W13, which is perfect for the coloring that I am now and helped to tone down the whitening effect the CC Cream gave off.  It was easy to smooth on and blend with fingertips, though you could also use your favorite brush (such as the Sigma F80 or IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Buffing Airbrush Foundation Brush).

I found this BB Cream to be on the sheerer side of coverage, but worked well in conjunction with the CC Cream.  For these hot Summer months it’s perfectly lightweight if you just want a minor amount of makeup on to look that much more flawless and polished.

You can purchase Etude House CC Cream at KollenctionK for $15.60 & BB Cream at KollectionK for $17.39.

I’m really excited to see what the other ladies came up with!  My shopping list is always a mile long after we do these Makeup Wars posts!  Let me know what your fave complexion helper it so I can add it to my list!

Etude House PK001 HEART FLUTTERING PINK Dear My Blooming Eyes Palette Swatches, Review & EOTD

Press Sample

The Etude House Dear My Blooming Eyes Palette comes in several gorgeous combinations, but I don’t think any of the others would quite suit my style and taste like PK001 Heart Fluttering Pink.

1 IMG_7268 IMG_7271 IMG_7273 IMG_7279 IMG_7281 IMG_7327The Heart Fluttering Pink Eye Shadow Palette is a quad of ivory shimmer, dark chocolate brown, bronzed copper shimmer and a pale pink shimmer.  The pigment is amazing on these shades and they’re swatched above dry with no primer.

As you’ll see below, the shadows don’t show up too shimmery on the eye and they wear and blend like a dream.  The color lasted all day over top of primer and shades can be easily converted from day to night.

The packaging is decorative pink plastic with a mirror placed at the interior.  Girly and adorable, which Etude House does very, very well!

For the EOTD I started off with a thin layer of UDPP.  The bronzed copper shade is all over the lid with the dark chocolate brown shade in the crease and outer V.  The ivory shade is used to blend out the crease and also at the inner corners of the eyes, while the pink shade was used as a highlight.  The liner is Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes 2L.  The mascara is Missha Signature Vibrating.

Why am I posting now?  Well, for several reasons – 1: You can still purchase these products, 2: so you know that you need to purchase from the next holiday collection and 3: because it’s so flipping pretty you should look at it and smile.

Etude House Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base in #03 Peach Choux Swatches & Review

Press Sample

Etude House has a pretty sweet (no pun intended) primer in their Sweet Recipe Baby Choux Base.  This face primer comes in several shades, #1 Mint Choux for reddish skin, #2 Berry Choux for pale skin, and today’s post of #3 Peach Choux for yellowish skin.

IMG_6041IMG_6043 IMG_6045 IMG_6049 IMG_6056IMG_0071This base has a creamy texture and really great coverage.  I really don’t think you’d need another foundation with it.  It works to hold in moisture for flawlessly soft skin.  This particular shade, as you can see from the swatch, doesn’t really work well with my tone.. it’s a little too powdery white for me (and that’s even swatched on the underside of my arm). I’d probably be better off with Berry Choux, but I can attest that the formula and coverage were awesome!

Etude House can be purchased here or at Etude House stores around the world.  I found this particular product for sale on this site.  Please note, I’ve never personally purchased anything from either of these sites.

Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips-talk Swatches & Review

New for 2013 Etude House presents the Sweet Recipe Collection, which was inspired by the Brothers Grimm Classic Fairy Tale Hansel & Gretel.
One of the more yummy items from this collection are the Dear My Jelly Lips-talk, which is a vibrant & shiny jelly textured lipstick.
