We all know I love me some Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadows. So when one launches that pairs fantastically with Mirage and is also a Nordstrom exclusive… well, I’m all over that.
What Nordstrom says about Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadow:
Dior’s Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadow creates multidimensional, light-reflecting eyes in a single step. Its mousse-gel texture blends easily with the fingertips or the enclosed applicator. The eyeshadow illuminates the eye with a metallic finish and is available in eight iridescent shades
Rosee is the eyeshadow I’m talking about and it’s a gorgeous & light silvery lilac. It pairs perfectly with so many shades and looks wonderful when worked in with a smoky eye look. It also makes a nice, yet fun all-over-the-lid shadow for a simple eye look.
The formula of the Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadows is smooth and silky, lasting all day long without creasing. It sets quickly, but you still have time to do your blending.
This particular Fusion Mono Eyeshadow appears to be sold out, BUT the ones that are in stock are currently 10% off at Nordstrom (ends April 21, 2014)! Normally the retail would be $30.00, but for a limited time you’ll only pay $27.00 with free shipping!!
Which of the Dior Diorshow Fusion Mono Eyeshadows are on your wish list?
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! This week’s Makeup Wars is all about being glowy. Illuminating, if you will. Some of these help to conceal, but for the most part I like to use them to give the illusion of brightness/being awake and all “no, I don’t suffer from insomnia at all”.
In no particular order….
1. Dior Nail Glow. I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed this yet! I’ve had it for a year and am obsessed with it. Running out the door and need a mani but have no time for a mani? You can slap this on so fast and it adds a rosy tint to your nails leaving them shiny and healthy looking.
2. IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye/Hello Light Liquid Brightener Dual End Concealer. A mouthful… but this is the real deal for hiding the evil that is the under eye area… especially after a night of St. Patrick’s Day festivities (hint hint – everyone knows you were out because of what you posted on Instagram, you can still look like a million bucks the next morning with this stuff).
3. NARSLight Reflecting Loose Setting Powder. I dust this setting powder over my face makeup to help keep it flawless throughout the day, but one of my favorite things about it is that it contains light-active micro-prisms that optically fade wrinkles, pores.. all that bad stuff. There is also a pressed form of this but reviews said that the loose gives more of a matte finish and I’m all about that. Cream wise I love the Copacabana Highlighter that I got in a Sephora VIB gift!
4. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush. Hourglass has some excellent Ambient Lighting Powders (see Mood Glow) but my heart lies with their Ambient Lighting Blushes. I got my hands on Luminous Flush during a VIB preview, then when the shades launched I bought up the rest of them. You’ll be seeing them very soon!
5. MAC Grain Eye Shadow. This eye shadow has been my go-to highlight shade for years. If I get a palette that doesn’t have a shade to highlight or blend a crease out with (which happens way more often than I like) I always add this in.
6. Tarte Champagne. I first used this highlighter when I got the Tarte for Aqualillies Palette last year. I use it all over – cheeks, eyes, anywhere I need a bit of brightness or deflection.
7. Benefit Rockateur Powder Blush. This cheek powder is rose gold and may be highlighter only status for some, but it’s the perfect blush for me! I also enjoy using Watt’s Up and am currently working my way through a pile of sample sizes I’ve acquired!
8. Eat well. I’m really guilty of not doing this one. I just started back up (I see you coming, Summer) and it’s been refreshing. I have more energy, my skin looks better and brighter, I get more done… it’s just all around a fabulous feeling inside that radiates outward in your appearance!
When you’re something of a red lipstickhoarder collector, picking your Top 10 will have you on the floor either weeping uncontrollably or laughing hysterically (in the manic sense). Do you know I seriously felt bad about not including my other reds?! Who has feelings like that?!
For this weeks Top 10 Tuesday I broke down and chose my Top 10 High-End Red Lipsticks.
In no particular order…
Cle de Peau Beaute 311 Extra Rich Lipstick Velvet. So this one… is ridiculously expensive. More-so than I thought when I purchased. The lipstick itself is $40 then you have to buy the casing which is $25. I never (and I mean never) finish a lipstick, so, while the casing is refillable, that’s just not economical for me. That being said… I don’t regret this purchase in any way, shape or form. It’s a stunning shade of excellent quality and if I had to pick my top 3 red lippies this would, without a moments hesitation, be in that group.
Chanel Dragon Rouge Allure Laque. This was actually featured as my favorite red lipstick in Makeup Wars circa 2012 and it’s still in my top 3 to this day. There’s something so perfect about the color that makes it an unstoppable, power red.
NARS Future Red Cinematic Lipstick. Cinematic is a new formula for NARS and it’s basically 10,000 shades of awesome. Highly pigmented and so glossy! Future Red was a part of the controversial Holiday 2013 Guy Bourdin Collection.
MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick. I just recently reviewed this one, but of course it landed on my faves! A frost finish that doesn’t look icy or trashy?! Sign me up!
MAC RiRi Woo Lipstick. RiRi Woo is based off of Ruby Woo but in an even better Retro Matte formula. It released several times throughout 2013 within the Rihanna Collections and it was a huge favorite each time. What this means is that Rihanna can do no wrong in terms of a red lip from collections she collaborates on.
Dior Lady Lipstick. While there were three beautiful red shades that I purchased from the Dior 2012 Holiday Collection, Lady is my favorite. She’s a muted, dusty red that carries oodles of pigment and is wonderfully wearable.
LUSH Santa Baby Lip Tint. Maybe this one isn’t really a “lipstick” or “designer” per se, but it’s beautiful and gives my lips that perfect red tint without going pink. Love it, couldn’t leave it out!
Cailyn Big Apple Tinted Lip Balm. I got this one in my September 2013 ipsy Glam Bag. Again, not exactly a “lipstick” but a great tint! It’s a little deeper than Santa Baby and just as beautiful!
Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge 8 Iconic Red. When something is made in collaboration with Madonna’s makeup artist, Gina Brooke, you know it’s good. Aqua Rouge does.not.budge. You’ll be hard pressed to get it off with even a hard core makeup remover. Love this line!
And, as per usual on a Top 10 Tuesday, I cheated and managed to smuggle in my Top 5 High-End Red Lip Glosses as well. Just kidding, no idea how these got here, I swear.
Marc Jacobs No Regrets Lust for Lacquer. A juicy, strawberry red that works perfect alone or on top of any red shade that needs a little shine. If there were such a thing as a neutral red, this would be it.
NARS 413 BLKR Larger Than Life Lipgloss. This is a fiery, siren red that features a teeny, tiny brush to get that precise application that you need for all red lip shades. Super pigmented and super glossy!
Lise Watier Rouge Catwalk Haute Couleur. I got my first Lise Watier products in my August 2013 Wantable Box. I’d been dying to try out the brand and was not disappointed! This shade is another juicy sort of red that is almost opaque and has an awesome shine.
Le Metier de Beaute Red Velvet Lip Creme. This was actually a GWP item back in 2012. It’s an extremely vibrant and opaque fire engine red cream. It just melts onto the lips and even leaves behind a nice stain after eating/drinking.
MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipglass. While this red isn’t opaque by any means, the shimmer gives off a great dimension to any creamy red lipsticks that you feel might be falling flat or just need funned up!

Late Wednesday night I showed you a Dior Makeup Palette from the Spring 2014 Trianon Collection that’s pretty hard to get, especially if you’re in the US. Today I’m featuring a palette that is also limited edition, but, as of this blog post, is still very much available – Pastel Fontanges.
What Sephora says about the Dior Pastel Fontanges 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette:
What it is:
A limited edition eye shadow palette inspired by the Dior spring look.
What it does:
Create an audacious halo of color around the eye with a blend of sugared-almond pink, baby blue, and golden yellow. This limited edition of the 5 Couleurs palette takes a delightful dive into the world of the Petit Trianon and the Spring 2014 collection from the House of Dior. Inspired by Marie-Antoinette and the French Trianon Palace and gardens, it is a fresh, modern take on a royal color palette that celebrates elegant and carefree femininity. Flowery pastels are accented with bursts of rich and vibrant hues for a playful yet refined expression of luxury.
Pastel Fontanges includes five shades in an icy white silver, frosty baby blue, frosty pale pink, a pearly taupe and a glimmering white gold.
For the most part, this 5 Couleurs Palette is extremely sheer. Though this is a beautiful pastel collection of colors I do wish one of the other shades would’ve been a bit deeper. For more intensity you can use them wet, but you’re going to get a lot more apparent shimmer/frost which may or may not suit you – just throwing it out there.
Formula wise the shadow quality is excellent on all of the shades – soft and easy to work with. On the middle shade you have to be a bit wary of glitter fall-out. If you are in the mood for a sheer, feminine look then Pastel Fontanges is exactly what you need.
In the EOTD look below I used Dior Mirage Diorshow Fusion Mono Matte Eyeshadow as a base on the lid and through the crease. I dusted the baby blue shade all over the lid and applied the taupe shade to the crease and outer V, bringing it in towards the middle of the eye. The pale pink shade was used to blend out the crease with the white silver shade used to highlight. The white gold shade is at the inner corners of the eye. For a liner I used Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Stray Dog and I actually forget what the mascara is lol I think it’s Too Faced Better Than Sex because I needed a new one (which I picked up yesterday).

The Dior Pastel Fontanges 5 Couleurs Couture Colour Eyeshadow Palette retails for $61.00 and is available at Sephora, Neiman Marcus and dior.com.
Today’s post is one that I’m beyond excited to share with you. A post that I thought I’d never be able to do because this item is only available internationally. A huggggeeeeee thank you to my favorite person ever – Shamini in Norway – for helping me out!
One of the things I love most about Dior Beauty is the little makeup filled clutches they make, usually around Holiday or Spring. The Spring 2012 Granville Garden was my favorite… until now.
I don’t know if it’s because the Dior Favorite Makeup Palette from the Spring 2014 Trianon Collection wasn’t readily available stateside or if it’s because three eye shadows/1 eye liner are surrounding the most perfect pink blush ever…. but Favorite has really won me over.
As has become usual as of the last few Dior Spring collections the box is a mirrored silver with the ingredients listed on the back.
A fun surprise is that the velvet pouch is grey rather than navy and has a little holder on the back for the cheek brush.
I love the bow shape of this palette and it’s so different and chic to see the two toned silver and rose gold metals. The little pearl accents at the closure are also a stunning detail.
The interior of the palette has a full mirror on the one side and on the bottom half shows a blush, three eye shadows and an eye liner. There are also the included applicators (which I usually pitch but because this is so LE I kept them).
The cheek brush matches the outside of this palette and features a silver handle with a small rose gold bow at the center.
Now, onto the stuff you’re probably more interested in than me gushing over packaging. The swatches.
Favorite has five shades included inside – listed as three eye shadows, one eye liner and one blush. I swatched them above over no primer using my finger. For the shadows there’s a frosty pink pearl, a frosty taupe as well as a sheer and shimmery mint green. The eye liner is a black matte and the blush is a light peachy pink.
There is very little pigment within these shades. I had to layer a few times to get the swatches above. However, they apply very nicely and can absolutely be deepened by putting them over a colored base or by using them wet. The blush looks rather chalky when swatched but wears well on the face. It’s also sheer but it’s buildable enough to garner some color on the cheeks. It’s practically impossible to over-use this particular shade. Below I applied it three times on my cheeks to get the sheer and natural wash of color. It’s a little more apparent in person.
The lip color is the Dior Pétillante Addict Gloss (to be reviewed).
